The 130 has 1500kg load capacity, not 1000kg. That sets it apart as an overland, because when you load a ton of overland gear (including fuel and water) you're not near the design limitation of the rig/suspension. The only other vehicle which was 1.5t legal road limit was the Ford F250.
You don't say what gearbox and axles you use with that V8. Looks like could be a bit higher off the ground
Amazing build!
I never found my 300tdi engine to be a problem... it was the rest of the Defender that kept on braking down... loved the truck though.... now i drive a Mazda pick up and forgot what a toolbox looks like...
Mine had an early TD5 engine which was full of issues. Defenders are one of those unique vehicles you love and hate at the same time
True...
I want to install 1Hz from Toyota land cruiser with automatic gearbox 😉
Very reliable engines, just a lot of patience required from personal experience
Lovely v8 Landy
When u step on the gas it goes varroommm.. Varroommm... That's y i love gas engine..
What a beast! Love it!
Very good idea
Beautiful
Putting a 2uz into a first gen 4runner and this is sick
Would've loved a VVT-i 2UZ in Pugly!
Wicked truck mate
It is Land Rover 130 better than the rest. I'm very like 👍👍👍👍👍
Anargis wat bly, ry en vry in die burbs! Great video!
What a rig...👌🇦🇺
love this channel :D
If a diesel engine i would go for an isuzu 4jj1
Very cool
Next time get the 2.8i... best of all worlds and not a bastard as you say💪🏻
As a factory option they were great, but a bit low on torque for a 130. If only they made a factory M57 option hmm
Hendri Mouton their are a few people doing this, but I think this is where Ineos made the perfect call for the Grenadier drive train. Supercharged M52B28 will make enough power... and the engines are dirt cheap, and you can easily do a auto conversion with the 4HP22 box. I have a 90 2.8i, and it's awesome
I'd use the 300tdi 2.8 tgv engine if I were asked to build an over lander
Jou ANARGIS!!😎🤘 LOVIT!
A Yamaha -engine, that. 😊
Don't like a vehicle that's not original. There's a lot of land rovers here and the V8 land rover is one tough engine
That's alright. Each to their own and as long as you enjoy it is all that matters💪
@@HendriMouton yeah got your point. Enjoy to the max
There's nothing wrong with being unoriginal. Each to their own indeed. I've got a Defender 90 with a Cummins 3.8ISF. Ain't nothing like it among its peers. Two of my trucks are swap jobs too. A Tata 407SFC with a 4BT and and old Hino 14-177 with a 6BT. Thanks Hendri for inspiration. Cheers from Durban.
British body with Japanese heart
Exactly
Nothing unreliable about an isuzu diesel
I thought it was a RC. 😅
Pretty realistic RC hey haha
Om606
The dream!
I'm waiting for someone to drop fords new 7.3 Godzilla into a defender!
Useless, gas guzzling inefficient engine, a toyota 1hd, or a cummins or om606 are good
@@carholic-sz3qv Smiles per gallon NOT miles per gallon is where it's at
Where is your pen hard?
My pen?
Land Cruisers are stronger.
Why not have both?😉
Trop de blablabla, surtout en langue étrangère. Rien compris.
Kyk hier ons kan halfpad ontmoet, dan vertel ek vir jou mooi in Afrikaans wat jy moet doen.
Stopped watching when you said petrol V8 is cheaper and easier to maintain than a diesel motor 😂🤣😂
Well it's true. No turbo or high pressure injectors to worry about
@@HendriMouton throttle body, air flow sensors, spark plugs with all the electronics and sensors linking it together. Even n/a V8 has high pressure injectors and fuel pump, not as high as diesels but still there. Show me a V8 with million miles on it lol.
Diesel is more relieable sorry just saying.
@@peterlabiak1051 True, but between all my vehicles this has been the cheapest engine to maintain. I didn't build it to drive a million miles. That's what my 1HD 80 Series is for😃
@@peterlabiak1051 What do you use your vehicle for? Hope it's not a daily commuter.
