Btw just a few tips for beginners out there, 1- Dont add salt to the kadhi mixture until it has started boiling once. It reduces the chances of kadhi splitting. 2- Also make the curd mixture extremely lump free, you wont like gram flour lumps in your kadhi 3- Keep stirring the kadhi till its first boil, otherwise it may stick to the bottom. 4- Add a lot of water, and cook for aas long as you can. My family sometimes cook it for over 40 mins or so. But yea minimum of 15-20 mins is a must 5- I prefer using curd that has been left at room temp for some time. It makes it a bit sour. That tastes amazing. Most kitchen veterans such as the experienced mum in the video, have been through years of trial and error to know when and where a kahdi can go wrong. So they can skip one of the above tips and still come out with perfect kadhi. But if you are a beginner, and you have had experiences of kadhi splitting in the past, some of these may atleast reduce the chance of that happeneing. Alright, i m off to make some kadhi for myself now, as now i m drooling as i type. Happy eating.
Hi Apoorv I agree with most of what you have said except for the salt. You have add maybe 1/2 tsp of salt as this will does help in reduces the chance of the Kadhi Splitting
Yet another fantastic Punjabi recipe by your brilliant mum 😊. And she looks lovely in her yellow suit appropriate for the khadi recipe. Chetna all yours and mum’s recipes are bullet proof🎉
Your mum is so precious. I love that you get to make these memories with her, and what a blessing these videos will be for generations to come. Best wishes to all!
So lovely! My mother was conceived in India and always loved everything Indian. Sadly I hadn't discovered my love for cooking when she was still alive. Would've loved to try cooking some of your dishes with her - she'd have loved them! Thanks, Chetna.
My mum used to make a special dish for me that she called "curry" because she knew how much I loved it (it is possible that she said "kadhi" and that I misunderstood). Part of what made this dish special is that I didn't know how to make it (I would sometime watch as she made it, but I didn't pay much attention to the details of what she was doing). Unfortunately, I never asked my mum for the recipe and she passed away in 2018. Seeing you with your mum reminded me of my mum. Although there are some differences between what I remember seeing what my mum did in comparison to what your mum does, I think that this video will set me on the right track (I will need to experiment with the recipe before I will be able to figure out what my mum used to do). Thank you so much to both you and your mum for sharing this video; it means more to me than you know.
I ♥️ it how mums cook by just eyeballing the ingredients and going with the flow and making 😋😋 meals. My mum cooks in the same way. Back in the day I couldn’t learn from her as I needed measurements for confidence but over the years… I’ve become my mum! 😬😵💫😂🤣
Indian mothers! I remember Bibiji (my MIL) cooking these pakoras with curry. Also aloo and subzi pakoras which were so delicious. Lovely to see your Mum cooking, and you being sous-chef. And enjoying the pakoras afterwards.
Yes a very yummy dish anytime and if mom makes it no comparison. Just a small suggestion just check with mom we also need a small tadka of crushed coriander seeds with red chilli and asafoetida , it will be heavenly.
Yes there are many ways of making it and this is just how she cooks it. I myself have eaten atleast 10 different variations of kadhi, each delicious, each amazing
Thanks for sharing with us this delicious recipe. Is there a healthier version to make this without frying the pakoras, as I cannot eat deep fried for health reasons, thanks.
Such a beautiful thing mother and daughter making food I appreciate it looks delicious However I don't have these ingredients and looks looks like a lot of steps Actual almost bread making just with no yeast I'm sure it's delicious
Hi Chetna that looks so delicious I've never tired that before but I think I will make this with my mum ❤ it's lovely to see you in the kitchen cooking with your mum ❤ thank you for sharing this lovely recipe, I've been wanting to make this for a while now 😁😋😄❤️
Somehow, eating pakora kadhi with any class of roti instead of rice seems odd, probably because the pakoras already include flour (albeit besan flour, not wheat). Or maybe because it is too soupy for breads? never really thought about it until you mentioned it--rice is just the go-to accompaniment.
For your kind information i would like to tell you that it's a gujrati dish Truth is nowadays gujrati cusine is getting lost because of people like you
haha such a shame you dont know about Indian food..... there is a difference between Punjabi and Gujarati kadhi but I would not like to waste my time trying to explain it to you
Again, 😂😂. Your mum talks and you don't show the translation; then you (Chetna) translate what she says, and you put YOUR words up on the screen❣️ In English❣️ 🫂🫂🫂 Too amusing❣️

I can’t wait to try this. Thank you Chetna & Mum. Quick question…….could you make without the pakoras as the kadhi looks so good on its own 😊
Yes absolutely
Karhi with makki roti is yummy.
Bake pakoras in the oven 🧐😶. Chetna's mom has amazing plating skills.

I like food style ❤
I just love it when you and your mama cook us meals 💕❤️

Yes it happens sometimes
Your mum is so cute
Chetna, where did you buy your kitchen drainer from?
ahhhhhh which one, a lot of the things in my kitchen are a few years old
@@FoodwithChetna I think it's light grey used for drying the pots and pans.
Also this recipe is uncanny, as I made Pakoras yesterday and I was telling my husband next time I will make the Pakoras with Kadhi next 😂😂😂😂
yessss
Rathverna

Yes its the classic combination
Too many steps for me can't find some of ingredients
Are you serious, this is one of the simplest things to make
For your kind information i would like to tell you that it's a gujrati dish
