loved all your decorating, but especially the mosaic birdbath. My grownup girlfriends had a sleep over friendship garden party. We all brought a terra cotta pot with a rim like on your side yard. The hostess had stones, broken plates and various metal treasures for us to each make our pots. We just did the rims and grouted them also. We each had brought plantings enough for 6 of us. The hostess provided the potting soil. We woke up the next morning and made a luscious breakfast together, which we took out on the patio. Then we all planted our gorgeous pots in the sunshine. What a wonderful time making great memories. Now we all have our pots to remind us of the time together. I thought you could rim your terra cotta pot with the left over pieces ,and put it on the ground next to your birdbath and plant in it .
Since I sit out front I have been adding to a small area to make a porch side garden. I had my son move the bird bath to the area where I can easily clean and fill it. I am adding annuals to the area also. Now I see I need to mosaic the bowl!!! I love what you did with yours! With the 10+ year old miniature rose bush that is now waist high at a corner to the path to the porch steps it has evolved into quite a peaceful spot to entertain a friend and share a glass of tea on the porch swing!

So much fun! I have a cottage home as well. Possibly the grey piping coming out of the white box cover could be painted to match the white plastic pipe beside it or paint the grey pipe the same color as the bricks so it won't be noticed. Maybe next project you could paint your patio to look like cottage stones. Another idea for the backyard- it was so expensive to get a shed, I bought a wood playhouse on sale (same colors as our house) and turned it into a storage shed for lawn equipment. Decorated the playhouse with a pathway and garden to look like a miniature of our house- so beautiful to look out and see that, but the best part was spending about $400 as opposed to $6000 for a shed. The playhouse/garden shed also has a tiny birdbath made from a plate from the thrift store.

Love the bird bath make over. Ive done the same with old bowling balls, although after a few years they need a refresh. Taking inside during the winter helps. Great garden accents.

I for one have a ugly bird bath in need of a spruce up. I intend to try the mosaic idea on it and on a old outside table made years ago by my, now long gone, father. I wonder if antique stores and thrift stores have a scratch, dented and chipped Ben for glassware? It would be great if they did, they could sell it cheap and we wouldn’t have to feel so bad about taking a hammer to it! Thanks Rachael for all the inspiration. Just a suggestion, I think it would look good if you paint all your flower pots the same color as the door, to make them more cohesive and balanced. Also the underside of the bird bath needs to be painted the same color of the body of the base.

Wow! Turned out so pretty! I have added ferns that grow in the wild, on side of road to my shady flower beds along with Hosta and other shade loving plants. They just die back in winter and come back every spring and if you fertilize them, they grow so big and beautiful. They're Free!! 😊❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺

I love all of the projects. The birdbath is gorgeous! The one I need done is power washing my lanai and screens, which have turned green from the trees. Also, since the gutter over the lanai is attached to it, it's not standard and the gutter people said it wasn't theirs. Someone needs to get on the roof to clean it and there's a little tree growing out of it. Don't even know who to call for that! I'm also looking for lattice covers for around the heat pump. I'll have to measure the height as heat pumps I think are taller than AC units.

I for one have a ugly bird bath in need of a spruce up. I intend to try the mosaic idea on it and on a old outside table made years ago by my, now long gone, father. I wonder if antique stores and thrift stores have a scratch, dented and chipped Ben for glassware? It would be great if they did, they could sell it cheap and we wouldn’t have to feel so bad about taking a hammer to it! Thanks Rachael for all the inspiration. You are so blessed to have a good husband who helps you with household projects!! Just a suggestion, I think it would look good if you paint all your flower pots the same color as the door, to make them more cohesive and balanced. Also the underside of the bird bath needs to be painted the same color of the body of the base.

Wow! Turned out so pretty! I have added ferns that grow in the wild, on side of road to my shady flower beds along with Hosta and other shade loving plants. They just die back in winter and come back every spring and if you fertilize them, they grow so big and beautiful. They're Free!! 😊❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺

I love all of the projects. The birdbath is gorgeous! The one I need done is power washing my lanai and screens, which have turned green from the trees. Also, since the gutter over the lanai is attached to it, it's not standard and the gutter people said it wasn't theirs. Someone needs to get on the roof to clean it and there's a little tree growing out of it. Don't even know who to call for that! I'm also looking for lattice covers for around the heat pump. I'll have to measure the height as heat pumps I think are taller than AC units.

Oh my goodness Rachel I don’t know where to start! First of all I love the new pics in the opening of both you and Matt, and even the dog! I love the continuation of this backyard makeover! I love all the projects and all the thrifted items. I have a radio like that too just a bit taller. You are very blessed that Matt is both willing and able to do so many of these projects. It’s hard to choose a favorite but it will have to be the birdhouse, oh my goodness! You could do these daily and I’d never get tired of watching.
