    I listened to the audiobook of "Mindset" on my commute and it has been an absolute game-changer for me! It's like we all know these underlying truths, but we either get lied to, lie to ourselves or somehow get off track over the years. To get results, you first must BELIEVE!!!

    Hi Clark, really glad you stuck with this and you did not give up on your fans. It would be more painful for us if you gave up. (1) Best idea-embracing challenges, struggles, criticisms, and setbacks as a source of growth; (2) Something to add: What ever happens to you is meant to be and it is the best thing that could have happened to you because you deserve better and will get something better. You just have to persevere and be patient; (3) Nothing to disagree-everything you said is true. Clark, keep up with the growth mindset and thank you so much for all the great content. Much love!

    Great video for anyone at ANY age (I am 67) to learn from. Message is clear, easy to understand, not the slightest bit threatening, and the suggestions for improvement are all achievable and doable. One of the clear signs of being an adult is that you wake up every morning knowing that you somehow can do better today than you did yesterday. Thanks for reinforcing that notion. Well done.

    My Best Takeaway: Start on the journey and Persevere. "You Can" quantifying how much you CAN may differ and not entirely within your control but if you apply yourself to something you will make progress - and that should be satisfying in itself.
    Please keep on doing what you do. I saw the actual book and it was 8 plus hours of rapid audio-book. I would never have completed it. Thank you for giving the summarized version. That should be good enough for now. Please do not measure your success by subscriptions or views. Do it for personal satisfaction of helping others any my wish is for you to succeed in a big way.
    Thing I would improve in this ? nothing really, well maybe it is personal but I was distracted by bit of background music. nothing serious though.
    Thanks You. Thank You. Stay Blessed, Healthy and Safe.

    Several things have been helpful over the years. I had a professor, Starling Price (quite a name huh?) who was bothered somehow by the apathy of another student one day. All I remember was that he kept telling the boy, "You've got to decide!" Not in a hurtful, chiding manner, but with a helpful attitude! I don't know if it helped that boy or not, but it certainly helped me. I've had my moments (like a donkey starving to death between two bales of hay because he didn't know which to start first!) but I've also been able to decide as Starling said. It changed and helped my life. It helped me raise two wonderful children (they did the hard work!) And it did make a difference that was good for me.

    I applied the progress mindset to weight lifting and it worked! I am in the best shape of my life! I don’t necessarily agree that after you get praise you don’t make extra efforts- for me praise and recognition pushes me to grow further. I want to add that some pre disposition whether its genes, money, or being with the right people, coupled with the growth mindset is probably what set top performers apart if they keep focusing.

    My main takeaway was learning how to identify if I have a fixed, or growth mindset. Also; the concept of coaching yourself is very interesting and I'm going to keep following you on that one. I would love to see you REALLY leverage that concept, I truly think there is something incredible there.

    I believe that accepting what is given (in a relationship) is as important as giving... and it´s a totally different thing from (just ) taking. Accepting is being grateful and humble towards those who show love to us and give one of the most important assets a person has: their time. Great video. Fantastic book.

  • @drewblack923
    @drewblack923 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    After watching this video I realized that I've been doing the 'not yet' mindset. I'm currently a student and struggling in my course in college. There were a lot of subj that I had to retake every year but I always told myself that 'this is merely showing that I'm still lacking...' as time passed I gradually improved and now I am a graduating college student! That growth mindset is REAL and I was doing it unconciously!
    Thanks for this video! Wishing you more success to come 😄

    Best idea: Applying growth mindset to relationships means getting curious and less being judgemental. Judging implies someone's role in your life is fixed and that you have a fixed idea about your life. Being curious means you have a growth mindset about that person, yourself, and how your relationship could be more optimal and fulfilling.

    Hey Clark, I have been following your videos for awhile and you have given me tremendous values. For me personally what I struggle with the most is being consistent. Sometimes my mind is bullet proof and get loads done. Sometimes I feel really weak and I lose all the progress I made. This is really stopping me from succeeding in life. Do you have an advice on how to work on being consistent?

    Hi Clark. I love your channel and your videos.
    The best takeaway that I got from this video is to replace "I can't" with "I presently struggle with." I love that! I need to make a sticky with that phrase and put it on the wall of my cubicle.
    Something I would like to add: in many East-Asian cultures, when kid does a well in school, people will praise him/her, not by saying "you are so smart" but by saying "you worked so hard". That is something I will do with my kids to teach them that success is product of work and not some talent that you are born with.
    Something that I disagree with: Do not assume that if something is simple, that it is also easy. Quitting drugs, for example, is simple. All you have to do is not use them anymore. However that does not mean that it is easy.
    Similarly, you often hear some idiot say that weight loss is all about eating less calories than you spend. That is true in a sense that if someone were to imprison you, and made sure that you eat less calories than you spend, than you would lose weight. But studies show that with most dieters, any weight loss is temporary. Why is that?
    The point that I am trying to make is that problem is not lack of knowledge. Everything you said in the video has been said elsewhere many times over many years. There is no shortage of good advice, starting from Socrates in 600 BC all the way to today. Problem is actually doing what you are supposed to be doing.

    • @christianaxios2547
      @christianaxios2547 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree with your points. The mind is literally an advanced computer that you can choose how to program it...but that does mean that it will be an easy program to use.
      And the concept about dieting, from what i have read at least, also can be related to the fact that once you develop a fat cell, that it will be easier to reform that fat cell if it is lost.
      Regardless, one of my favorite quotes on the topic of controlling the mind is from Robin S. Sharma and says "The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master."

    1. Best ideas: Growth. That's the only metric that's matter. Brook is temporary, poor is permanent. A relationship is a place we go to give, not a place we go to take.
    2. Something to add: Growth mindset is a spectrum. You can have a growth mindset in certain areas and fixed mindset in others (or even in the same area).

      If only I liked sports (aside from baseball) - ahaha thanks for the feedback and encouragement. Will explore shortening the videos. The raw footage gets edited down from 45min - I can ramble!

    Hi Clark, I just recently discovered your videos and I really enjoyed your book summaries (I haven't finished watching all of them yet, but soon :)). I am surprised that you don't have millions of subscribers, I think you have a lot of potential here!
