Imagine how PERFECT it would’ve been if in representation Cat Noir and Monarch revealed to eachother but before Gabriel can do anything to steal his miraculous he told plagg to give it to ladybug it would’ve been a wayyy better, made representation necessary and make the finale a little more justified for leaving out adrien and we could’ve got scenes of Gabriel talking about him being cat noir to ladybug ughhhh the potential 🤧
Honestly Zoe confessing completely overshadowed Marinette’s confession for me. Not only was it so much sweeter, but I just related so much more. When you are not straight, the idea of confessing feelings is so much more complicated. You know you would feel better afterwards- but especially knowing the other person, not only does not like you back but they are straight? It makes the idea of even trying so frightening. I honestly believe they gave this episode the perfect amount of timing and the respect something like this deserves. You know that at least one of the episode writers was LGBT+ just watching it, as it was so relatable and real for me. ❤
I also very liked Adoration for Zoe's confesion and Marinette's reaction to that. I'm straight, so this is not as personal for me as for you, but I love that it showed that even if reject someone as lover, you still can accept them as your friend and that's beautiful too. So often the one who rejects someone's romantic affection is demonized. I rejected two guys in my life (because romantic relationship didn't work) and then they guilttriped me and no longer wanted to be friends with me or even speak with me. Just like they only wanted to have a girlfriend, not me, just like my friendship has got no value, because it is not love. I know that rejection hurts. I was rejected too. But after grieving, I moved on and I'm happy with the friendship and glad that it didn't turned into romantic relationship. Adoration showed that love is not everything, friendship is also important relationship and romantic rejection doesn't have to ruin it. That's so wholesome.

3:43 any Felix episode is already a good episode in my mind lol. Plus there was the whole senti plot being confirmed and i was so proud of the theory i supported coming true, the play thing was interesting and the visual and narrative choices for the episode were bold but worked well. And bonus, Chat beating the shit out of his father lol. (it's not a FAVORITE, it's got issues, but i definitely like it!! ) My issues with this episode are the once upon a time thing, the VERY awkward prom, and also the fact they did NOTHING with that episode. Like, no Ladybug / Argos teamup on a wild rescue mission??? WE WERE ROBBED
Season 5 was definitely….unique, compared to let’s say: Season 4. I don’t think there’s an episode i truly loved in Season 5, (I don’t hate Season 5, I just think Season 4 was better) But in terms of being Memorable (be it in a good or bad way) I guess I’d go with either Reunion or Confrontation.
To be honest they really should've focused the episodes on some more of the Agreste lore, how Gabriel meet his allies, and Gabriel's ties with the Tsrugi clan rather than creating more questions than answers. Also I this may come as me being greedy and ungrateful bit I think there should've been either twenty-nine to thirty episodes expanding and focused on some of our unanswered questions and different characters instead of them being focused on just the relationship between Marinette and Adrien. There were also plenty of missed opportunities certain episodes had and I honestly think they should've done reunion better by focussing the episode on the lore of the miraculous a bit more. Don't get me wrong I liked some of the build up with Marinette and Adrian relationship but there were certain tedious parts that were frustrating. And I'm a little ticked off that Adrian was cast aside from the finale and still, I really think that we should had some of the episodes focused on the lore of the Agrestes and the Miraculous, plus there needs to be an episode or two focussed on Su Han and Luka while. I also feel as though they did Kagami dirty by not making her engage in the battle and confront her mother. Overall if you ask me I think there needs to be more episodes, because just twenty-seven might not have been enough to explain certain answers to our questions. Also I really hope Lila's arc is focussed on season 6.

Omg yes I would have loved that! And I think it being released slowly may have just been better for the storytelling. But yes, a lot of missed opportunities this season, and I also don’t like the way Adreinette was done either
To my opinion, it is highly probable that all those questions will be answered in future seasons. For example, I don't think the writers would tell us about Gabriel trying to destroy Tomoe's dream in Perfection without ever giving the audience more information. Maybe through flashbacks.
You know, the thing that really ticked me off that the show did was how Gabriel was handled. It only took one episode after Intuition to make him eradicate his promise to Adrien.

Let's be real. All the. Félix stuff was the best thing in this season. Sure "Rresenation" could be the most controversial of the three, but at least the faults of the episodes are redeemed by the. the fact that Cat Noir gets to go up against Monarch. Something that severely lacking in the ACTUAL FINALE!

@@hazeclarke The season in my opinion wanted to do too much and then it felt rushed and not that well executed. Sometimes I was asking myself why some of the things weren't said in older seasons, for example in episodes Reunion (the kwagatamas) or Derision (the backstory). Sometimes there were things which didn't really got a conclusion, for example the end scene of Elation or Lila's and Kagami's friendship. And there were writing decisions which I didn't like, for example the finale with Adrien not being in the end of the Agreste arc and Gabriel's "redemption" or Chloe being the mayor (what?!). Who thought that was a good idea? There are other reasons too, but I think these reasons are enough.
i finished the video and while my absolute favorite is definitely Emotion (i am biased because of the song), Pretension is a very close second; it was sweet, i overall like kagami episodes, it had adrienette being sweet, it had Marinette SPITTING FACTS to gabe, it had the pancake drama closure, it had ARGOS so yeah!! v good episode!! a favorite!! a jewel !!

season 5 as a whole is just so sad 😕I really like it bc of all the stuff that happens but they do it all so bad I feel like ladynoir literally has absolutely no relationship after elation and it’s so aggravating I wish we got to see them being better friends besides perfection or at the very least them missing eachother in deflagration The whole season focused completely on adrinette after they started dating and that’s good but it felt way less characterizing for the heroes. It got so bad it lead up to the finale where they did not talk absolutely at all and ladybug completely did not care about cat noir That’s only one complaint though and there’s so much more it makes me sad
6:30 I mean after all Felix did to Marinette/Ladybug it kinda makes sense for Marinette to not believe Felix, I think that in Conformation she not only realized that Gabriel was Monarch but also that the story that Felix told her (which she probably believed was fake) was true
This is similar to my view. I think it's probably a head vs heart thing. Maybe she knew in her head that it was true but still had doubts (with good reason). This would also explain her nightmare. Knowing that he was Monarch subconsciously but she still didn't want to believe it. Also the reason she goes to the Mansion is to be reassured that Adrien is safe. She might think ill of Gabriel but worrying about Adrien's safety because of him? That was new and could be explained by what she learned from the play. But it wasn't until she saw Gabriel detransform before her eyes, that there was no room for denial and it became fully real to her.
while i agree she wouldn't immediately trust him and believe him, she should have had a reaction, even if that reaction was suspicions. she sits there and her reaction is nothing, literally nothing. her face does not change. but that also doesn't get rid of her agreeing to help kagami and felix at the end of the episode, and then 25 opens with it never having happened
It's my 2nd fav of the series, but apparently someone called Negative Legend who I'm not too sure even watched the whole series called it the worst one of S5 by the time he reached that episode for an unjustified reason.

4:40 I'm not even sure if the writers have fully confirmed that Adrien is a sentimonster, especially with how coy the writers have been about it. This episode was based on Felix's assumptions he might eventually be right but there is a glimmer of a possibility that the sentimonster is not Adrien but could be some kind of microchip to protect him (that may be a bit of a stretch cause Emilie used the Peacock Miraculous and to do it for that would make her less sympathetic). Adrien did get cataclysmed in Miraculer but didn't lose control like a Sentimonster, he presumably started suffering in a similar way to how Gabriel suffered throughout Season 5. I do hope they give an explanation for this in the case if Adrien is a Sentimonster because a cataclysmed sentimonster in the show always goes bezerk whereas Cat Noir/Adrien is just left in a lot of pain. But Felix (and most likely Kagami) are Sentimonsters (Felix 100% cause the story came from his perspective, but even he can make mistakes).
i mean that was the only point of representation, and we were shown emilie using it in the flashback in evolution. idk what else she would be using it for at for the cataclysm, it effects people in different ways, some go out of control (reflekdoll), some die instantly (Aeon), and some die gradually (Gabriel)
Also, the magic of the miraculouses protected Chat. The reason Shadow Moth, Mayura and Argos couldn't sense Chat is a sentimonster is because the miraculouses protect someone from their secret identity being exposed, including sensing that Chat is a sentimonster under the suit. So in the same way Chat isn't being affected like a sentimonster would because he's protected by the magic of his miraculous. Makes sense or..?
@@Random-tn1rv Gabriel was wearing a bunch of miraculous and the cataclysm still affected him (under his suit), if the magic protected Chat it would have done the same to Monarch (but it did not). Adrien was in an even worse situation to Gabriel in S5 in Miraculer as he got Cataclysmed in the chest (thinking about that, OUCH). I always thought the magic in the Amokised object makes it impossible for the Sentimonster to be destroyed (kinda like a Horcrux in Harry Potter, but where the body cannot be destroyed in this case and the reason the sentimonster loses control is because the magic of the Black Cat and Peacock are counteracting each other, so it cannot die but it becomes uncontrollable).

I think an episode 24 Marinette found out who monarch was, but I think in the finale it was like a moment of realisation that it was actually real I think she had her suspicions in 24 but she didn’t fully know.

And the reason I liked revolution so much was the same kind of reason you liked reunion because of your personal experience. so for someone who lives in a non democratic country, I think it showed the way we feel in these countries in a very cool cartoonish way, so that is why I liked it so much. And for the reason why I liked representation was because of the sentimonster story, which in my opinion, was good. I was always one of those hard believers of the sentimonster theory, and it was a pretty satisfying conformation that I really needed. Overall, I didn't rank it that high, but it is in my top 10.

37:01 actully gabe winning was really forced in the season 5 finale because you know like how she throwed the boomernge at emilie’s coffine and gabe held it but it was glued so she took it and like took half of the rings at that time and then cataclysmed the elevator so it dropped on him and he held then she took the opprutinty and throwed the staff at the butterfly miraculous broach so it fell in the basment water he tried to take it but she pulled him with the yoyo he tried to attack her and venom her but she put her hand on the rings so she told him she can destroy them by cataclysm and use miraculous ladybug and everything goes back to normal and gives the ring to plag so plagg gives it to adrien but for some reason she does NOT destroy the fricking rings and she says bBuTt you and nathaile will die and she shows him the video and he becomes sad and tells her to do the wish but she says no i will not and says to him that they need to do something that is on the human scale and he tells her okay and then she fRiCkinG DeEtraNsfORmss without using the cataclysm which she does not have a reason to do beacuse the cataclysm won’t affect gabe and it just will make him un-able to betray her like he did also gabriel sacrificing himself because of what marinette said to him does not make any sense like nathalie told him that sacrificing somebody is wrong but no emille too but also no and also some of you might say it is beacuse of the video he said that he hates the videos and he even destroyed them and he says emille always deserves more than she wants and he was angry at collusion when he heard the videos palying at nathailes room so not and for that reason adrien should be the one who told gabriel that this wrong then it would have been more loggical but that is my opinion i hope that i could hear the other opinions and i hop that haze sees my comment and tells me about her opinion !

I feel like Representation is an interesting case. I think I (and others) would say it's good as a standalone episode. However, I agree that the moment you take Conformation into account, Representation just doesn't fit. A similar thing happened between Multiplication and Destruction where opinions on the episode itself were clouded by the episodes around them. So yes, I like Representation on its own, but I don't like how it fits into the narrative overall.

Marinette was secretly Ladybug, a heroine who saved lives, saved numerous problems using her magical ladybugs and was unstoppable. With a mask covering her face, she was unrecognisable but accomplished missions that earned her recognition worldwide, though no one would believe she was Mari. But our main protagonist's behaviour had her parents concerned. Mari had already been punished by her parents with a grounding before and had to miss Nino's concert with Adrien still there. She had to be careful more than ever after that day as she didn't want to be punished, but she knew that if her parents found out about her being late and absent from places, they'd punish her more severely and be disappointed since they had no idea their clumsy teen was a heroine. If only they knew... Mari began to cry... she knew she couldn't tell her parents... she could handle a grounding but this was for her parents own good. She rested comfortable in the fact that her parents would never ground her if they knew she was Ladybug and went down to the living room. She had been lost in thought as she brought herself back into reality, fighting back tears as her father looked at her rather sternly, arms crossed. It was a parent- teacher conference at school and her father was waiting to go. He'd been calling Mari for a few minutes and she was late. " Dad, sorry, I - " Mari stuttered, but before she could finish her sentence, or lack of a sentence since she didn't have any words in her mouth, her father raised his hand to signal that she should stay silent before holding her mother's hand and leaving for school. Upon arriving at school, Mari felt her heart sink to her stomach as she prepared to be punished. Then, like a zombie, she replied " She is in love with Adrien Agreste!" Ladybug froze as she saw her parents attacking and silencing everyone before bounding them to reveal her secrets, but now was not the time to get self conscious. Ladybug called up her lucky charm and received... a flute? After thinking for a few seconds she knew she had to act fast. An idea popped into her head as she knew what this was referencing. The guardian pulled the fox pendant from her yo-yo and attached it to her neck, releasing Trixx. "Tikki, Trixx unify!" she commanded, an orange light bathing Ladybug and changing her costume into orange and white themes with fox themed pigtails, making her look as sly as a fox. She was indeed. Ladyfox pulled out her flute, her weapon from the fox miraculous and played a tune, before creating an illusion of a fake Marinette to distract her parents. " These words hit her parents heart as they softened in expression. They looked at their daughter who was speaking so sensibly. But Shadow Moth's influence was too strong and he couldn't lose. Not today. The miraculous of the ladybug and black cat would be his today. Speaking of black cat, Ladybug had left so many messages for that kitty and yet he wasn't there. Little did she know he'd been silenced by Gang of Secrets before he could transform. She lost attention as the wedding ring was infected with another amok, creating a sentimonster called broken heart. The sentimonster was able to shoot bullets through hearts, breaking them. Her parents were so upset they wanted everyone in Paris to have a literal broken heart. That's when Ladybug had an aha moment. She stood beside her illusion, revealing herself and calling reality as she divided her powers, releasing Trixx. As a bullet was shot toward her, she threw her lucky charm flute towards the mouth of the sentimonster while she used her yo-yo as a shield. As planned, the sentimonster released a bullet, but the flute pushed it backwards as it landed on her parents wedding ring, breaking it apart and destroying the akuma. With a smirk, Ladybug then swung her yo-yo to purify the evil butterfly and tossed her lucky charm flute in the air, activating miraculous ladybug and repairing all the damage. As her parents were reverted back to their civilian forms, they were in shock to see Ladybug as she carried them back to the bakery. Upon arriving back there, her earrings gave one last beep. " Thank you, Ladybug for saving us. But, where's our daughter, Marinette? Nothing must happen to her, she's too precious to us!" Tom told Ladybug, as both parents reached out their hand and shook Ladybug's one after the other. Ladybug simply smiled and did not answer. She led her parents up to her bedroom, where nobody would see the revelation about to come. Knowing her earrings were about to give their final warning beep, she bent down on the ground and finally spoke. " Your daughter is right here." Ladybug said with a smile as her earrings began to flash and within a few seconds, a red light covered the heroine as she reverted back to clumsy old Marinette, releasing Tikki who smiled as Marinette's parents were exposed to her for the first time, collapsing on the ground and laughing as her parents, in shock and crying, picked up their daughter and pulled her into a big hug. But as for now, that's all there is. There isn't any more.

Something can still be satisfying while leaving it open. Strike back imo was super satisfying and so was Mayura, but they left us with questions to speculate. I can’t speak for everyone but the reason is wasn’t satisfying to me was because the finale simply wasn’t written well

- I genuinely didn't expect you to put Perfection and Multiplication so low. I didn't get the feeling you even disliked them from your initial analyses (especially since you're usually open about it, like with Destruction, Derision, and Representation). - I personally really loved Perfection, although I agree with most of your criticisms. It's among the most filler-y episodes of the season. I do disagree about Lila and Kagami, as it's more an issue of Emotion and the later episodes. After Kagami goes to the dance, they never interact or mention each other. - I'm just confused how Derision ended up being a mix of some of the best and worst writing in the show. Marinette's panic attacks and the scene at the end? Amazing. The flashback? Filled with illogicalities and contradictions. - I lowkey find it funny how when writing Elation/Exaltation, they remembered the existence of Cat Blanc and Ephemeral, so Tikki tells Alya that the love between the heroes could cause the end of the world, but Marinette proceeds to pursue Cat Noir. - There's actually a decent reason why they didn't use the "quantum tracking" until now. From what we see, it only told them (and the Miraculizeds) where Ladybug and Cat Noir are, and since it only worked when they're transformed, and usually no one's a Miraculized, it wouldn't really be useful. They can't track them when they aren't transformed, and they rarely hide from the villains. Something which I noticed after Season 5 had finished is that its and Season 4's problems are not of the same type. Season 4 has many episodes with major issues (honestly, Gabriel Agreste, Wishmaker, the Finale, and Alya's six episodes are the only ones I haven't really seen a lot of hate for), but they rarely span multiple episodes. There are only a few criticisms which apply to the entire season (Lila's unimportance, the lack of Love Square development, etc.). In Season 5, most episodes are decent or better, with only a few which can be considered "bad" (and many still like Derision and Representation, for example), but it has a lot of issues over the whole season.

@@hazeclarke I'm kind of confused about the last thing. The "quantum tracking" only told the Miraculizeds where Ladybug and Cat Noir are, while they were transformed. When they'd detransform, it'd stop working (so it can't really be used to track the heroes and find out their identities). And usually, there are no Miraculizeds (they only exist due to the Perfect Alliance plan), so the tracking would just tell Gabriel where the heroes are while they're fighting a villain. Now, its existence and name are pure plot convenience, but it would just not be that useful.
The only thing I don't like about the finale is that Marinette trusted Gabriel for no reason. Knowing that he is Monarch, could'nt she tought about him betraying her?

The party was beautiful in Representation...we got to see Cat Noir V.S Nightormentor...we got to know the *complete* backstory...I loved the nightmare of Cat Noir...and Nathalie's hair turned white were 1st seen in this episode...Marinette was beautiful... FéliGami scenes.....
8:14 'Representation' one of the worst episodes of the show ever, hmmm. While I do completely agree that it is amongst the worst episodes of season 5 and I would personally give it a 3 or a 4/10 in accordance to your reasons, I would say that Re-Creation is the worst of season 5 for now (it is subject to change, it may go up if the writers decide that Gabe only brought Nathalie back in exchange for his life and the woman next to her is Amelie (not Emilie) as a kinda retcon on what was originally supposedly written). It may go up a smidge more if this episode provides a suitable catalyst for a climactic future arc (maybe an Anti-Hero Cat Noir Arc or an Arc where he takes the Rabbit Miraculous to play the fight between Gabriel and BugNoire). My 2 least favourite episode of the whole series are 2.Maladiktator and 1.Santa Claus.
@@hazeclarke That one was trying to be an innocent Christmas episode but all the characters were really unlikeable. Adrien/Cat Noir was acting like a contrived Grinch until he meets Santa (who has the most random shift in character cause he needed to get akumatised despite initially being introduced as a calm person also the reason for the Akumatisation was just stupid and pedantic. Ladybug was concerned for Adrien and yes she was impulsive but Santa became a literal different character when Ladybug appeared), Marinette/Ladybug was kinda implied as a perpetrator for causing Santa's akumatisation but the biggest problem I had with her in this episode is her false Empathy (another reason I hated 'Maladiktator' when she felt sad cause Adrien was sad). Also the pacing was well and truly off, when the villain is stopped all is forgiven in seconds hooray, Gabriel then acts out of character and has a Christmas party at his house, ugggghhh RIDICULOUS, UTTERLY RIDICULOUS and out of character, that ending was even more stupid than Mayor Chloe (cause at least the latter had an ironic comical feel about how stupid it was). Gabe's party makes 0 sense whatsoever. Even without the songs it is a terrible episode with bad pacing, but then the music, that takes the biscuit.
Zoe’s confession totally overshadowed Marinette’s for me too. Also yes, they definitely should’ve kept Alya’s apology! I don’t agree that Nathalie is a bad person though. In my opinion, she’s a person who made some bad decisions, but she has a good heart, she cares for Adrien and she tried to help Gabriel out of love. Even Gabriel isn’t originally inherently bad person. He was kinder when he and Emilie decided to use peacock miraculous. But then he made a lot of bad decisions. By the way, many people in fandom talk about how Chloe’s character was written badly but no one talks about Gabriel and how bad he was written in season 5. I personally don’t like the cataclysm plot at all. Gabriel was kinder in previous seasons, he had some good moments with Adrien, he wanted to give up. But in season 5 the writers made him completely crazy. Personally I like a little redemption that he got in the finale. The hero statue was too much, but I like how in the end he cared about Adrien and tried to do the good thing by making the wish and saving Nathalie and sacrificing himself. I wish he could be back in some way in the next seasons.

Pretension!! Ugh, it's so good!! Not sure if it'd be #1 on my ranking but it'd make top 5 for sure. Honestly, I just hate the entire concept behind Kwami's Choice so neither of those episodes would rank high for me, even though I think the episodes themselves are fine and that hand-raising scene is one of the most adorable Adrienette moments in the show! I was so surprised by Reunion on my rewatch. I never disliked it but I just considered it fun filler. After the finale.. I gotta say it hits different. Sort of feels like how The Pharoah cleverly snuck in a lot of foreshadowing. (it's even the same akuma/setting) I mean think about it, Jaleel gets akumatized because he believes Ladybug isn't the hero she claims to be. Maybe Monarch is actually the good guy who just wants the wish to bring forth "world peace" and he comes to this conclusion via lies fed to him by the alliance ring. Of course, he is proven wrong by the end of the episode. Alright so Representation. I have *very* mixed feelings on this episode. It's the only appearance of Felix that I dislike. There's so many things that feel kind of out of character. You're telling me that Felix, the person who apologized to the Strike Backs for their fate, felt so guilty about snapping Red Moon that he was in tears, gives Kagami a whole speech about how he's not going to make a senti just so he can use and then discard it as nothing more than a tool; does exactly that in this episode?! With no remorse! Who is this character and what have they done with Felix?! I also dislike Kagami telling Felix about her suspicions that Marinette is Ladybug. If that was going to happen, it should've been built up so we could see *why* she trusted Felix with that information. Even if I disagreed with her decision, at least it would have been something to work with. The play was fine, I'm pretty indifferent to it and I really don't mind Marinette's reaction or lack-there-of in this episode. Okay, there are my negatives. Now onto positives. I absolutely love everything they do with Adrien in this episode! Him getting to confront his father with anonymity so that he can say exactly what's on his mind is just great. Coming so close to single-handedly taking him down but it's his emotional vulnerability that gives Nightormentor the upper hand. Then his friends rallying around and supporting him. This is the reason I don'tmind Cat Noir's absence in the finale. (He does also get chances to shine against Monarch in Passion and Deflagration) He got his moment to confront Gabriel as *his father* It keeps the focus on his failures as a parent as opposed to that getting overshadowed by his actions as Monarch. That leads to the finale. I was so worried about this finale. I tried to avoid leaks the best I could but I heard rumblings about how bad it was. I thought they were going to redeem Gabriel, I'd heard Cat Noir was barely involved and that Marinette learned of Monarch's identity and didn't tell Adrien. I was ready to hate this finale. I watched it once, and I was basically numb. I didn't know what to think. Watched it again and... I really liked it? Monarch/Tomoe's plan, Nathalie ready to kill Gabriel with a crossbow, Marinette's reaction to seeing Monarch detransform, Bug Noire, the tension, that fight, Marinette's speech to Gabriel, the message of letting go, Gabriel finally accepting that Emilie wouldn't be happy to be brought back but remaining too stubborn in his grief to even attempt living on without her, the ending leaving so much potential for the future. Does that mean I loved everything about it? No. And my positive feelings for this episode definitely rest on what the next season does with it. (For example if Emilie was revived.. it becomes monumentally terrible writing) They could drop the ball, and if that happens my stance on this episode will change but for now, it just leaves me so intrigued, which is a feeling I didn't expect to have after S5 ended.
I defiantly think Reunion is underrated by the fandom, even without the addition of the psychosis emotion in the episode Lmaooo the sent projector that he snaps when they’re done XD like what is that about. Has a whole speech in 19 about the importance of senti life and is like screw that we have a play to put on! While I did like that Adrien did confront his dad, it doesn’t make him not being int he finale okay for me personally Honestly the more I’ve watched the finale, the more I’ve hated it 😅 there are so many aspects that I don’t find enjoyable

(Don't get me wrong, I found Lady Noire hilarious XD and Marichat was so cute) It feels like what more episodes could have been if they settled into this lovesquare flip. I've liked/defended Felix since his debut so what he did in this episode frustrates me so much! 😭 It genuinely feels like the person who wrote the episode didn't even know Felix's fundamental motivation. (which I know isn't true) That's completely fair and understandable. Honestly it still surprises that not only do I not dislike the finale, I like it more on every rewatch. If you'd told me a year ago that Cat Noir wouldn't be involved in the S5 finale I mightve considered dropping the show. Then again I thought the same about Senti-Adrien which is another plot point I've completely come around on. I can't stress enough though how much my enjoyment of the season finale depends on S6. Emilie cannot be revived. It goes against every single time this plot point was brought up throughout the entire season. Nathalie is constantly trying to convince Gabriel to move on. She only continues helping reluctantly because of the doomed situation Adrien is now in, thanks to their reckless actions. Emilie's videos are all about how Gabriel is mad for thinking he can bring her back. That she has accepted her fate and simply wants to make sure Adrien is well taken care of in her absence. Ladybug reiterates this sentiment just before Gabriel backstabs her. Gabriel better not be treated as redeemed by the narrative. He passed the point of no return long ago and he kept getting worse in S5. He's being celebrated for a lie. Tomoe, his primary accomplice, was the one praising him and stating she would "continue his legacy". I'm hoping Adrien will be conflicted and wrestle with how to view his father. (this would remain true even if he knew the truth since Gabriel's last act was sacrificing himself to heal Nathalie)

After the way they’ve utterly destroyed her character I’m not sure there is way forward with Chloe’s character. While I think it’s not conclusively the end for her, I think it would be odd to bring her back considering everything they’ve done to her

Besides, Chloe's akumatization is a tradition each season, so I'm sure she'll be present in first episode of season 6. I can't imagine Lila working all alone. She'd need someone to cause negative emotions 🤣

Honestly Zoe confessing completely overshadowed Marinette’s confession for me. Not only was it so much sweeter, but I just related so much more.
When you are not straight, the idea of confessing feelings is so much more complicated. You know you would feel better afterwards- but especially knowing the other person, not only does not like you back but they are straight? It makes the idea of even trying so frightening.
I honestly believe they gave this episode the perfect amount of timing and the respect something like this deserves. You know that at least one of the episode writers was LGBT+ just watching it, as it was so relatable and real for me. ❤

I also very liked Adoration for Zoe's confesion and Marinette's reaction to that. I'm straight, so this is not as personal for me as for you, but I love that it showed that even if reject someone as lover, you still can accept them as your friend and that's beautiful too. So often the one who rejects someone's romantic affection is demonized. I rejected two guys in my life (because romantic relationship didn't work) and then they guilttriped me and no longer wanted to be friends with me or even speak with me. Just like they only wanted to have a girlfriend, not me, just like my friendship has got no value, because it is not love. I know that rejection hurts. I was rejected too. But after grieving, I moved on and I'm happy with the friendship and glad that it didn't turned into romantic relationship.
Adoration showed that love is not everything, friendship is also important relationship and romantic rejection doesn't have to ruin it. That's so wholesome.

3:43 any Felix episode is already a good episode in my mind lol. Plus there was the whole senti plot being confirmed and i was so proud of the theory i supported coming true, the play thing was interesting and the visual and narrative choices for the episode were bold but worked well. And bonus, Chat beating the shit out of his father lol.

My issues with this episode are the once upon a time thing, the VERY awkward prom, and also the fact they did NOTHING with that episode. Like, no Ladybug / Argos teamup on a wild rescue mission??? WE WERE ROBBED

I don’t think there’s an episode i truly loved in Season 5, (I don’t hate Season 5, I just think Season 4 was better) But in terms of being Memorable (be it in a good or bad way) I guess I’d go with either Reunion or Confrontation.

To be honest they really should've focused the episodes on some more of the Agreste lore, how Gabriel meet his allies, and Gabriel's ties with the Tsrugi clan rather than creating more questions than answers. Also I this may come as me being greedy and ungrateful bit I think there should've been either twenty-nine to thirty episodes expanding and focused on some of our unanswered questions and different characters instead of them being focused on just the relationship between Marinette and Adrien. There were also plenty of missed opportunities certain episodes had and I honestly think they should've done reunion better by focussing the episode on the lore of the miraculous a bit more. Don't get me wrong I liked some of the build up with Marinette and Adrian relationship but there were certain tedious parts that were frustrating. And I'm a little ticked off that Adrian was cast aside from the finale and still, I really think that we should had some of the episodes focused on the lore of the Agrestes and the Miraculous, plus there needs to be an episode or two focussed on Su Han and Luka while. I also feel as though they did Kagami dirty by not making her engage in the battle and confront her mother. Overall if you ask me I think there needs to be more episodes, because just twenty-seven might not have been enough to explain certain answers to our questions. Also I really hope Lila's arc is focussed on season 6.

To my opinion, it is highly probable that all those questions will be answered in future seasons. For example, I don't think the writers would tell us about Gabriel trying to destroy Tomoe's dream in Perfection without ever giving the audience more information. Maybe through flashbacks.

In my opinion just the first three episodes on my list were good (i consider Emotion to be the only very good episode in this season), but everything else was meh or terrible. This season was bad in my opinion (3/10). Sorry if my English is bad.

@@hazeclarke The season in my opinion wanted to do too much and then it felt rushed and not that well executed. Sometimes I was asking myself why some of the things weren't said in older seasons, for example in episodes Reunion (the kwagatamas) or Derision (the backstory). Sometimes there were things which didn't really got a conclusion, for example the end scene of Elation or Lila's and Kagami's friendship. And there were writing decisions which I didn't like, for example the finale with Adrien not being in the end of the Agreste arc and Gabriel's "redemption" or Chloe being the mayor (what?!). Who thought that was a good idea? There are other reasons too, but I think these reasons are enough.
i finished the video and while my absolute favorite is definitely Emotion (i am biased because of the song), Pretension is a very close second; it was sweet, i overall like kagami episodes, it had adrienette being sweet, it had Marinette SPITTING FACTS to gabe, it had the pancake drama closure, it had ARGOS
so yeah!! v good episode!! a favorite!! a jewel !!
Pretension pancake sequence imo is one of the best scenes of the whole show!

I feel like ladynoir literally has absolutely no relationship after elation and it’s so aggravating I wish we got to see them being better friends besides perfection or at the very least them missing eachother in deflagration
The whole season focused completely on adrinette after they started dating and that’s good but it felt way less characterizing for the heroes.
It got so bad it lead up to the finale where they did not talk absolutely at all and ladybug completely did not care about cat noir
That’s only one complaint though and there’s so much more it makes me sad

This is similar to my view. I think it's probably a head vs heart thing. Maybe she knew in her head that it was true but still had doubts (with good reason). This would also explain her nightmare. Knowing that he was Monarch subconsciously but she still didn't want to believe it. Also the reason she goes to the Mansion is to be reassured that Adrien is safe. She might think ill of Gabriel but worrying about Adrien's safety because of him? That was new and could be explained by what she learned from the play. But it wasn't until she saw Gabriel detransform before her eyes, that there was no room for denial and it became fully real to her.
while i agree she wouldn't immediately trust him and believe him, she should have had a reaction, even if that reaction was suspicions. she sits there and her reaction is nothing, literally nothing. her face does not change. but that also doesn't get rid of her agreeing to help kagami and felix at the end of the episode, and then 25 opens with it never having happened

4:40 I'm not even sure if the writers have fully confirmed that Adrien is a sentimonster, especially with how coy the writers have been about it. This episode was based on Felix's assumptions he might eventually be right but there is a glimmer of a possibility that the sentimonster is not Adrien but could be some kind of microchip to protect him (that may be a bit of a stretch cause Emilie used the Peacock Miraculous and to do it for that would make her less sympathetic).
Adrien did get cataclysmed in Miraculer but didn't lose control like a Sentimonster, he presumably started suffering in a similar way to how Gabriel suffered throughout Season 5.
I do hope they give an explanation for this in the case if Adrien is a Sentimonster because a cataclysmed sentimonster in the show always goes bezerk whereas Cat Noir/Adrien is just left in a lot of pain.
But Felix (and most likely Kagami) are Sentimonsters (Felix 100% cause the story came from his perspective, but even he can make mistakes).
i mean that was the only point of representation, and we were shown emilie using it in the flashback in evolution. idk what else she would be using it for
at for the cataclysm, it effects people in different ways, some go out of control (reflekdoll), some die instantly (Aeon), and some die gradually (Gabriel)
Also, the magic of the miraculouses protected Chat. The reason Shadow Moth, Mayura and Argos couldn't sense Chat is a sentimonster is because the miraculouses protect someone from their secret identity being exposed, including sensing that Chat is a sentimonster under the suit. So in the same way Chat isn't being affected like a sentimonster would because he's protected by the magic of his miraculous. Makes sense or..?
@@Random-tn1rv Gabriel was wearing a bunch of miraculous and the cataclysm still affected him (under his suit), if the magic protected Chat it would have done the same to Monarch (but it did not). Adrien was in an even worse situation to Gabriel in S5 in Miraculer as he got Cataclysmed in the chest (thinking about that, OUCH). I always thought the magic in the Amokised object makes it impossible for the Sentimonster to be destroyed (kinda like a Horcrux in Harry Potter, but where the body cannot be destroyed in this case and the reason the sentimonster loses control is because the magic of the Black Cat and Peacock are counteracting each other, so it cannot die but it becomes uncontrollable).

I think an episode 24 Marinette found out who monarch was, but I think in the finale it was like a moment of realisation that it was actually real I think she had her suspicions in 24 but she didn’t fully know.

So I checked out the ones that I had in common with you, and it was just 2 episodes 😂
The reason I liked re-creation so much was because of the fight sequence between monoch Daddy and bug Noir. even though I am 16 and practically a teenager and my age is way above the target audience, I didn't understand the wish, but I thought that the fight sequence was soooo good, it made up for the wish.
And the reason I liked revolution so much was the same kind of reason you liked reunion because of your personal experience. so for someone who lives in a non democratic country, I think it showed the way we feel in these countries in a very cool cartoonish way, so that is why I liked it so much.
And for the reason why I liked representation was because of the sentimonster story, which in my opinion, was good. I was always one of those hard believers of the sentimonster theory, and it was a pretty satisfying conformation that I really needed. Overall, I didn't rank it that high, but it is in my top 10.

37:01 actully gabe winning was really forced in the season 5 finale because you know like how she throwed the boomernge at emilie’s coffine and gabe held it but it was glued so she took it and like took half of the rings at that time and then cataclysmed the elevator so it dropped on him and he held then she took the opprutinty and throwed the staff at the butterfly miraculous broach so it fell in the basment water he tried to take it but she pulled him with the yoyo he tried to attack her and venom her but she put her hand on the rings so she told him she can destroy them by cataclysm and use miraculous ladybug and everything goes back to normal and gives the ring to plag so plagg gives it to adrien but for some reason she does NOT destroy the fricking rings and she says bBuTt you and nathaile will die and she shows him the video and he becomes sad and tells her to do the wish but she says no i will not and says to him that they need to do something that is on the human scale and he tells her okay and then she fRiCkinG DeEtraNsfORmss without using the cataclysm which she does not have a reason to do beacuse the cataclysm won’t affect gabe and it just will make him un-able to betray her like he did also gabriel sacrificing himself because of what marinette said to him does not make any sense like nathalie told him that sacrificing somebody is wrong but no emille too but also no and also some of you might say it is beacuse of the video he said that he hates the videos and he even destroyed them and he says emille always deserves more than she wants and he was angry at collusion when he heard the videos palying at nathailes room so not and for that reason adrien should be the one who told gabriel that this wrong then it would have been more loggical but that is my opinion i hope that i could hear the other opinions and i hop that haze sees my comment and tells me about her opinion !

I feel like Representation is an interesting case. I think I (and others) would say it's good as a standalone episode. However, I agree that the moment you take Conformation into account, Representation just doesn't fit. A similar thing happened between Multiplication and Destruction where opinions on the episode itself were clouded by the episodes around them. So yes, I like Representation on its own, but I don't like how it fits into the narrative overall.

Marinette Dupain Cheng, the clumsy girl we all know and love. Marinette Dupain Cheng, she who was always late and could never think of being punctual. That girl who always had her head lost in the clouds, or so everyone THOUGHT. Marinette was secretly Ladybug, a heroine who saved lives, saved numerous problems using her magical ladybugs and was unstoppable. With a mask covering her face, she was unrecognisable but accomplished missions that earned her recognition worldwide, though no one would believe she was Mari.
But our main protagonist's behaviour had her parents concerned. Mari had already been punished by her parents with a grounding before and had to miss Nino's concert with Adrien still there. She had to be careful more than ever after that day as she didn't want to be punished, but she knew that if her parents found out about her being late and absent from places, they'd punish her more severely and be disappointed since they had no idea their clumsy teen was a heroine. If only they knew... Mari began to cry... she knew she couldn't tell her parents... she could handle a grounding but this was for her parents own good. She rested comfortable in the fact that her parents would never ground her if they knew she was Ladybug and went down to the living room.
She had been lost in thought as she brought herself back into reality, fighting back tears as her father looked at her rather sternly, arms crossed. It was a parent- teacher conference at school and her father was waiting to go. He'd been calling Mari for a few minutes and she was late. " Dad, sorry, I - " Mari stuttered, but before she could finish her sentence, or lack of a sentence since she didn't have any words in her mouth, her father raised his hand to signal that she should stay silent before holding her mother's hand and leaving for school. Upon arriving at school, Mari felt her heart sink to her stomach as she prepared to be punished. Throughout the school year, she may have been careful not to be absent or late; but she would have large bathroom breaks in the middle of the class, which would sometimes result in her being late to the next class. Oh, she was in for it. Once again, Mari found herself fighting back tears and fidgeting as Ms.Bustier had a firm discussion with her parents, all three parties getting worried.
" I must say, your daughter appears to have bladder problems. She's off to the bathroom in almost every lesson, late to classes and won't tell us anything! It's like there's something going on that constantly forces her to stay quiet and keep to herself. This isn't the energetic Mari I knew a year ago and - " before the worried, caring teacher could finish her sentence, an akuma entered the room and flew its way into Tom's wedding ring. Since Tom and Sabine were married, the akuma thereby affected them both. A purple light covered them head to toe as they were reverted into the Gang of Secrets, two supervillains who could force anyone to tell the truth upon shushing their lips. Marinette ran away as Ms.Bustier looked on in horror.
Hiding in the girls bathroom, she released Tikki from her shirt. The red creature sighed, sensing her owner's guilt, regret and remorse. If only she could help, but kwamis were abstract embodiments who could never truly have emotions. Mari interrupted Tikki's thoughts. " We've got to save my parents before they hurt my favourite teacher! It's my duty to save them, even if I must lie for the rest of my life. SPOTS ON!" A red light covered the teen as her clothes disappeared and a red spandex suit became visible. Ladybug, once transformed, rushed out of the bathroom and onto the scene of the crime, only to stand still in shock and horror looking at Ms.Bustier with white lips. " What is the ultimate secret of our daughter, Marinette Dupain- Cheng?" Ms.Bustier, with white lips in a trance, stayed silent for a minute. Then, like a zombie, she replied " She is in love with Adrien Agreste!" Ladybug froze as she saw her parents attacking and silencing everyone before bounding them to reveal her secrets, but now was not the time to get self conscious.
Ladybug called up her lucky charm and received... a flute? After thinking for a few seconds she knew she had to act fast. An idea popped into her head as she knew what this was referencing. The guardian pulled the fox pendant from her yo-yo and attached it to her neck, releasing Trixx. "Tikki, Trixx unify!" she commanded, an orange light bathing Ladybug and changing her costume into orange and white themes with fox themed pigtails, making her look as sly as a fox. She was indeed. Ladyfox pulled out her flute, her weapon from the fox miraculous and played a tune, before creating an illusion of a fake Marinette to distract her parents. The Gang of Secrets stopped in hesitation as their love for their daughter brought them closer towards her. " Mom, dad. It's me, Marinette. You are right. I hide secrets and I shouldn't. Please reject your akuma and I will always be honest with you from now on. I love both of you with all my soul and heart, remember that, always... " These words hit her parents heart as they softened in expression. They looked at their daughter who was speaking so sensibly. But Shadow Moth's influence was too strong and he couldn't lose. Not today. The miraculous of the ladybug and black cat would be his today. Speaking of black cat, Ladybug had left so many messages for that kitty and yet he wasn't there. Little did she know he'd been silenced by Gang of Secrets before he could transform.
She lost attention as the wedding ring was infected with another amok, creating a sentimonster called broken heart. The sentimonster was able to shoot bullets through hearts, breaking them. Her parents were so upset they wanted everyone in Paris to have a literal broken heart. That's when Ladybug had an aha moment. She stood beside her illusion, revealing herself and calling reality as she divided her powers, releasing Trixx. As a bullet was shot toward her, she threw her lucky charm flute towards the mouth of the sentimonster while she used her yo-yo as a shield. As planned, the sentimonster released a bullet, but the flute pushed it backwards as it landed on her parents wedding ring, breaking it apart and destroying the akuma. With a smirk, Ladybug then swung her yo-yo to purify the evil butterfly and tossed her lucky charm flute in the air, activating miraculous ladybug and repairing all the damage. As her parents were reverted back to their civilian forms, they were in shock to see Ladybug as she carried them back to the bakery. Upon arriving back there, her earrings gave one last beep. " Thank you, Ladybug for saving us. But, where's our daughter, Marinette? Nothing must happen to her, she's too precious to us!" Tom told Ladybug, as both parents reached out their hand and shook Ladybug's one after the other. Ladybug simply smiled and did not answer.
She led her parents up to her bedroom, where nobody would see the revelation about to come. Knowing her earrings were about to give their final warning beep, she bent down on the ground and finally spoke. " Your daughter is right here." Ladybug said with a smile as her earrings began to flash and within a few seconds, a red light covered the heroine as she reverted back to clumsy old Marinette, releasing Tikki who smiled as Marinette's parents were exposed to her for the first time, collapsing on the ground and laughing as her parents, in shock and crying, picked up their daughter and pulled her into a big hug. But as for now, that's all there is. There isn't any more.

@@akdami1 Most people hate the finale as there is less of Adrien and the wish was not explained properly which Ik is not the end of the show but is the end of the Agreste Arc so i was not fulfilled properly.
- I genuinely didn't expect you to put Perfection and Multiplication so low. I didn't get the feeling you even disliked them from your initial analyses (especially since you're usually open about it, like with Destruction, Derision, and Representation).
- I personally really loved Perfection, although I agree with most of your criticisms. It's among the most filler-y episodes of the season. I do disagree about Lila and Kagami, as it's more an issue of Emotion and the later episodes. After Kagami goes to the dance, they never interact or mention each other.
- I'm just confused how Derision ended up being a mix of some of the best and worst writing in the show. Marinette's panic attacks and the scene at the end? Amazing. The flashback? Filled with illogicalities and contradictions.
- I lowkey find it funny how when writing Elation/Exaltation, they remembered the existence of Cat Blanc and Ephemeral, so Tikki tells Alya that the love between the heroes could cause the end of the world, but Marinette proceeds to pursue Cat Noir.
- There's actually a decent reason why they didn't use the "quantum tracking" until now. From what we see, it only told them (and the Miraculizeds) where Ladybug and Cat Noir are, and since it only worked when they're transformed, and usually no one's a Miraculized, it wouldn't really be useful. They can't track them when they aren't transformed, and they rarely hide from the villains.
Something which I noticed after Season 5 had finished is that its and Season 4's problems are not of the same type. Season 4 has many episodes with major issues (honestly, Gabriel Agreste, Wishmaker, the Finale, and Alya's six episodes are the only ones I haven't really seen a lot of hate for), but they rarely span multiple episodes. There are only a few criticisms which apply to the entire season (Lila's unimportance, the lack of Love Square development, etc.). In Season 5, most episodes are decent or better, with only a few which can be considered "bad" (and many still like Derision and Representation, for example), but it has a lot of issues over the whole season.

@@hazeclarke I'm kind of confused about the last thing. The "quantum tracking" only told the Miraculizeds where Ladybug and Cat Noir are, while they were transformed. When they'd detransform, it'd stop working (so it can't really be used to track the heroes and find out their identities). And usually, there are no Miraculizeds (they only exist due to the Perfect Alliance plan), so the tracking would just tell Gabriel where the heroes are while they're fighting a villain. Now, its existence and name are pure plot convenience, but it would just not be that useful.

The party was beautiful in Representation...we got to see Cat Noir V.S Nightormentor...we got to know the *complete* backstory...I loved the nightmare of Cat Noir...and Nathalie's hair turned white were 1st seen in this episode...Marinette was beautiful... FéliGami scenes.....
8:14 'Representation' one of the worst episodes of the show ever, hmmm. While I do completely agree that it is amongst the worst episodes of season 5 and I would personally give it a 3 or a 4/10 in accordance to your reasons, I would say that Re-Creation is the worst of season 5 for now (it is subject to change, it may go up if the writers decide that Gabe only brought Nathalie back in exchange for his life and the woman next to her is Amelie (not Emilie) as a kinda retcon on what was originally supposedly written). It may go up a smidge more if this episode provides a suitable catalyst for a climactic future arc (maybe an Anti-Hero Cat Noir Arc or an Arc where he takes the Rabbit Miraculous to play the fight between Gabriel and BugNoire).
My 2 least favourite episode of the whole series are 2.Maladiktator and 1.Santa Claus.

@@hazeclarke That one was trying to be an innocent Christmas episode but all the characters were really unlikeable. Adrien/Cat Noir was acting like a contrived Grinch until he meets Santa (who has the most random shift in character cause he needed to get akumatised despite initially being introduced as a calm person also the reason for the Akumatisation was just stupid and pedantic. Ladybug was concerned for Adrien and yes she was impulsive but Santa became a literal different character when Ladybug appeared), Marinette/Ladybug was kinda implied as a perpetrator for causing Santa's akumatisation but the biggest problem I had with her in this episode is her false Empathy (another reason I hated 'Maladiktator' when she felt sad cause Adrien was sad).
Also the pacing was well and truly off, when the villain is stopped all is forgiven in seconds hooray, Gabriel then acts out of character and has a Christmas party at his house, ugggghhh RIDICULOUS, UTTERLY RIDICULOUS and out of character, that ending was even more stupid than Mayor Chloe (cause at least the latter had an ironic comical feel about how stupid it was). Gabe's party makes 0 sense whatsoever.
Even without the songs it is a terrible episode with bad pacing, but then the music, that takes the biscuit.
Zoe’s confession totally overshadowed Marinette’s for me too.

I don’t agree that Nathalie is a bad person though. In my opinion, she’s a person who made some bad decisions, but she has a good heart, she cares for Adrien and she tried to help Gabriel out of love.
Even Gabriel isn’t originally inherently bad person. He was kinder when he and Emilie decided to use peacock miraculous. But then he made a lot of bad decisions.
By the way, many people in fandom talk about how Chloe’s character was written badly but no one talks about Gabriel and how bad he was written in season 5. I personally don’t like the cataclysm plot at all. Gabriel was kinder in previous seasons, he had some good moments with Adrien, he wanted to give up. But in season 5 the writers made him completely crazy.
Personally I like a little redemption that he got in the finale. The hero statue was too much, but I like how in the end he cared about Adrien and tried to do the good thing by making the wish and saving Nathalie and sacrificing himself. I wish he could be back in some way in the next seasons.

Honestly, I just hate the entire concept behind Kwami's Choice so neither of those episodes would rank high for me, even though I think the episodes themselves are fine and that hand-raising scene is one of the most adorable Adrienette moments in the show!
I was so surprised by Reunion on my rewatch. I never disliked it but I just considered it fun filler. After the finale.. I gotta say it hits different. Sort of feels like how The Pharoah cleverly snuck in a lot of foreshadowing. (it's even the same akuma/setting) I mean think about it, Jaleel gets akumatized because he believes Ladybug isn't the hero she claims to be. Maybe Monarch is actually the good guy who just wants the wish to bring forth "world peace" and he comes to this conclusion via lies fed to him by the alliance ring. Of course, he is proven wrong by the end of the episode.
Alright so Representation. I have *very* mixed feelings on this episode. It's the only appearance of Felix that I dislike. There's so many things that feel kind of out of character. You're telling me that Felix, the person who apologized to the Strike Backs for their fate, felt so guilty about snapping Red Moon that he was in tears, gives Kagami a whole speech about how he's not going to make a senti just so he can use and then discard it as nothing more than a tool; does exactly that in this episode?! With no remorse! Who is this character and what have they done with Felix?! I also dislike Kagami telling Felix about her suspicions that Marinette is Ladybug. If that was going to happen, it should've been built up so we could see *why* she trusted Felix with that information. Even if I disagreed with her decision, at least it would have been something to work with. The play was fine, I'm pretty indifferent to it and I really don't mind Marinette's reaction or lack-there-of in this episode. Okay, there are my negatives. Now onto positives. I absolutely love everything they do with Adrien in this episode! Him getting to confront his father with anonymity so that he can say exactly what's on his mind is just great. Coming so close to single-handedly taking him down but it's his emotional vulnerability that gives Nightormentor the upper hand. Then his friends rallying around and supporting him. This is the reason I don'tmind Cat Noir's absence in the finale. (He does also get chances to shine against Monarch in Passion and Deflagration) He got his moment to confront Gabriel as *his father* It keeps the focus on his failures as a parent as opposed to that getting overshadowed by his actions as Monarch.
That leads to the finale. I was so worried about this finale. I tried to avoid leaks the best I could but I heard rumblings about how bad it was. I thought they were going to redeem Gabriel, I'd heard Cat Noir was barely involved and that Marinette learned of Monarch's identity and didn't tell Adrien. I was ready to hate this finale. I watched it once, and I was basically numb. I didn't know what to think. Watched it again and... I really liked it? Monarch/Tomoe's plan, Nathalie ready to kill Gabriel with a crossbow, Marinette's reaction to seeing Monarch detransform, Bug Noire, the tension, that fight, Marinette's speech to Gabriel, the message of letting go, Gabriel finally accepting that Emilie wouldn't be happy to be brought back but remaining too stubborn in his grief to even attempt living on without her, the ending leaving so much potential for the future.
Does that mean I loved everything about it? No. And my positive feelings for this episode definitely rest on what the next season does with it. (For example if Emilie was revived.. it becomes monumentally terrible writing) They could drop the ball, and if that happens my stance on this episode will change but for now, it just leaves me so intrigued, which is a feeling I didn't expect to have after S5 ended.
I defiantly think Reunion is underrated by the fandom, even without the addition of the psychosis emotion in the episode

While I did like that Adrien did confront his dad, it doesn’t make him not being int he finale okay for me personally

@@hazeclarke Agreed. It's just a very fun, interesting, and well-paced episode. I like how this one plays with the switched dynamic, too. Marinette is not as crazy as she is in Passion or Elation. (Don't get me wrong, I found Lady Noire hilarious XD and Marichat was so cute) It feels like what more episodes could have been if they settled into this lovesquare flip.
I've liked/defended Felix since his debut so what he did in this episode frustrates me so much! 😭 It genuinely feels like the person who wrote the episode didn't even know Felix's fundamental motivation. (which I know isn't true)
That's completely fair and understandable. Honestly it still surprises that not only do I not dislike the finale, I like it more on every rewatch. If you'd told me a year ago that Cat Noir wouldn't be involved in the S5 finale I mightve considered dropping the show. Then again I thought the same about Senti-Adrien which is another plot point I've completely come around on.
I can't stress enough though how much my enjoyment of the season finale depends on S6. Emilie cannot be revived. It goes against every single time this plot point was brought up throughout the entire season. Nathalie is constantly trying to convince Gabriel to move on. She only continues helping reluctantly because of the doomed situation Adrien is now in, thanks to their reckless actions. Emilie's videos are all about how Gabriel is mad for thinking he can bring her back. That she has accepted her fate and simply wants to make sure Adrien is well taken care of in her absence. Ladybug reiterates this sentiment just before Gabriel backstabs her.
Gabriel better not be treated as redeemed by the narrative. He passed the point of no return long ago and he kept getting worse in S5. He's being celebrated for a lie. Tomoe, his primary accomplice, was the one praising him and stating she would "continue his legacy". I'm hoping Adrien will be conflicted and wrestle with how to view his father. (this would remain true even if he knew the truth since Gabriel's last act was sacrificing himself to heal Nathalie)

Riposte Prime, on the other hand, should have definitely tried to find out if Marinette was really Ladybug, which is one of the many problems I have with Protection...
Worst episode by far is the one where adrien tries to kiss marinette on the cheek so many times. I cant even watch that, its so cringe.

Honestly,I loved Emotion from the moment I saw this episode.I liked everything about it and the animation was beautiful.For me,the animation is important for an episode because I feel like if an episode has a good animation(like SAMG’s)the episode has a different impact when you watch it.I really liked Representation because Adrien confronted his father even tho he was Cat Noir,but I still liked it a lot.I also liked this episode because I was very exited to see the school year dance and I was very surprised by Cat Noir’s dream too,but I have to say that it was weird that Marinette only realised that Gabriel is Monarch only in episode 25 and it was kind of confusing too because the sentimonster showed Marinette the sentimonster story in a dream so maybe that is why she didn’t realised Gabriel was Monarch because she didn’t remember.I also liked Evolution a lot too and I liked it from when I’ve seen it the first time and I think it was a great episode to start the season with and I was very surprised by the finale too. It was very unique seeing how the wish is done and I enjoyed it a lot.Overall I give this season a 9/10.I really liked it and I loved that Adrien finally realised that he has feelings for Marinette,and I put Multiplication last on my list because I feel like Adrien realising he has feelings for Marinette was kind of weird like it came out out of nowhere and some parts of the episode were boring too.I would like to write more but I don’t want you getting bored when you read this because I’ve written a lot,but if you see this I want you to know that i love your videos and you are one of my favourite youtubers and I respect you a lot.

My views changed after rewatching the episodes many times and this is my favourite episodes so far. May change later idk. The finale was good but very less Adrien and that is not a great thing. Overall i would rate this season as 7/10 but this is season comes after season 4 and 2.

After the way they’ve utterly destroyed her character I’m not sure there is way forward with Chloe’s character. While I think it’s not conclusively the end for her, I think it would be odd to bring her back considering everything they’ve done to her
@@hazeclarke Show isn't used to getting rid of the villains. With losing Bob Roth and Gabriel and losing Nathalie and Felix from antagonist side, only Tomoe and Lila left. Besides, Chloe's akumatization is a tradition each season, so I'm sure she'll be present in first episode of season 6. I can't imagine Lila working all alone. She'd need someone to cause negative emotions 🤣
