Maybe you can use the acrylic yarns for giveaways if you do giveaways on your Channel. I'm pretty sure there are others who would love to enter for that.
There's never yarn in thrift stores where I live. Once I saw some acrylic in a second-hand furniture shop, originally sold in a shop that went bankrupt two decades ago. I wanted to like it, but it was so rough that I thing I would have needed leather gloves to protect my hand when working on it! I could only think it suitable for homeless pets or foxes, but we don't want to encourage the latter because of all the damage they do, never mind the poop on the lawn.
Nice find on the yarn. Quick note: please do not use acrylic for kids' clothes or even for the homeless. Acrylic is highly flammable which is why it's not allowed for children's clothing. Also not advisable for the homeless based on their living conditions. If anything, contact a school nearby and donate to their crafts department.
@@kuriaknits I know this sounds morbid but children's products are highly regulated to use natural products - one of the reasons being synthetic products burn quicker. Acrylic burns to plastic. If there's a figure, a child/person is better protected with wool that plastic. Same for homeless - they are already in dangerous environments. Thanks for understanding - I knew you meant well. 🙂
I love that you're a responsible yarn shopper, I also check the thrift stores to see what treasures I can find 😊
Erin, I suggest that you use the acrylic for gift knitting for those folks who aren’t knit worthy and/or children😊
Good find and awesome deal 🥰🧶
Great deal on the yarn haul!!
I have been so often in thrift stores and have never found yarn. But I bought really good quality sweater that I forged and used.
I've never had luck repurposing sweaters like that but I'm glad you did! Thrift stores can definitely be hit and miss.
