    This is great. No armchair or pop psychology, just the kind of textbook empirical stuff that is so lacking on youtube.

    Six facets.
    1. Self Efficacy - ability to accomplish things. To want to achieve tasks. They feel ability and effective.
    2. Orderliness, plan, routine, lists. Schedule, and make lists.
    3. Dutifulness, obligTion, moral rule. Score high, sense of moral obligation. Low, view irresponsible.
    4. Achievement striving. Work diligently to achieve success. One element, if too high, too narrow minded.
    Too achievement..
    5. Self disciplined will power. When I went to MMBI.
    6. Cautious, deliberateness - not impulse. A wise man is cautious. Tends to think thru all aspects. Associated with impulsivity.
    Usually move in concurrence..

    Wanting to compete with their own past performance when it comes to beintg persistent in being able to complete all their tasks at work while not being supervised by anyone is a sure sign of conscientiousness for sure. Dr. Grande you seem to be the kind of person with a high degree of conscientiousness.

    i’ve followed you from your beginnings on youtube, and often go back to your videos. Thanks a lot for sharing all your knowledge. I feel that in time, i’m reversing my low conscientiousness and high neuroticism with hard work and good habits. i would love to learn more about how people can change for the better. it seems that your videos explain the fact that there’s a sort of fatality, which i don’t want to believe as if people are hardwired and can never change…

    I learn more each time I play a video of
    Dr. Grandes.
    I find the orderly way of sharing information, using his education, personal experience, insight, personal
    research and method of delivery combined with a neutral tone to be easy to listen to and not boring enough to put me to sleep.
    I am learning and find value for my own time here.
    I do hope others benefit from these too and after clicking on many videos in the past year binge watching for information about the subject of narcissism find Dr. Grandes work high on the list of those videos which are most beneficial to me. Keep up the good work sir, believe it when someone says you are helping people because you have helped me.
    Thank you
    Now I have delivered the highest praise I can in an effort to encourage not to destroy by over inflation of ego by such praise. However as any other form of payment for the time spent is not forthcoming I do hope pumping the proverbial tire keeps the videos rolling

    This was a great review on the facets of conscientiousness! It is interesting that individuals who are really high in conscientiousness can tend to be too close-minded on a task or a goal.

    I scored high in this personality trait overall. I think this happened because I have a type A personality. I like structure, order, aim to be successful and much more.

    It would be much appreciated.

    Speaking as someone who's HSP and ADD, I'd say I'm extremely high on cautiousness, and extremely low on orderliness and self-discipline. I think you can actually be all over the place with some of these traits.

    • @jonasdj11
      @jonasdj11 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      HSP doesn't exist. It's a term someone came up with once but is not recognized scientifically. My guess is it's a combination of someone very high in neurotiscism and maybe introverted and agreeable. So you end up with someone that experience a lot of negative emotions all the time, that possibly prefers being alone a lot and cares too much for other people before themselves. No reason to put a disorder-type vibe on it. It's a bullshit term.

    Does significant trauma sometimes effect how someone behaves within these facets or are the existing facets more so indicative of how one will behave when effected by significant trauma. Do you believe the answer is somewhere in the middle? I'd love to hear your thoughts in depth on this regarding all five factors

    I have really high conscientiousness 85th percentile) but I’m also really neurotic (90th percentile) and I’ve struggled with jobs, not performance, but with upper management. I also have good business sense but I’ve not been good at making money because I’m extremely creative (95th percentile) Is there anything I can do or any advice you can give me?

  • @Ravenzpeak
    @Ravenzpeak 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can these scores change over time or under different circumstances? Because I score high on everything in this list except I am so burned out from working so darn hard for the past 30 yrs that although I can handle "unpleasant" tasks, it makes me resentful that once again I'm elected to do all the dirty work. So now, am I lower on 'conscientiousness' than I used to be?

  • @blurse1652

    What do you think about overlaps on personality test. For example one of the facets on openness to agreeness is adventurousness which seems to contradict the facet of conscientious: order. I don’t know what to think of this, if anyone has a somewhat informed opinion please share.

    6:25 Like planning, considering the consequences of your actions denotes intelligence. If you don’t you are either an idiot or lack work ethics (or both, which is the case in 99% of cases).

      For those who are high on Neuroticism that also have a high Conscientiousness, it can be an advantage, because you'd often be the first to notice a problem or when something is wrong (Neuroticism) and to take action to resolve it while it's still not too late (Conscientiousness).

    • @josephe620

      Neuroticism can impede conscienctiousness because working hard induces stress
      And neurotic people can't seem to handle it very well

    I'm high on both Openness and Conscientiousness, but also moderate on Neuroticism. Regarding orderliness, people often tell me I'm "anal," but I prefer to be thought of as "analytical." I don't get along well with low-Openness/no-imagination types. They're always the ones to start a conflict, though. Probably because they're Philistine barbarians.
