Rob it was a real pleasure meeting you! I appreciate you taking the time to stop and learn about my quick release mounts. Happy travels!
Thanks for showing us!
I can’t wait for the new land cruiser I missed it at the auto show in Irvine ca
I enjoyed meeting you at Overland Expo East. Thanks again for taking time to talk to with me.
I'm glad you were able to make it over to us!
Thanks for the content. Also totally agree with your review of Morrison Outdoor. Been to one of his classes at the Toyota Roundup and he is very helpful.
They’re great people!
Good having a look at the way things are done in the states, thanks for showing us around mate.
Please get a LC or GX and get rid of that Jeep. We need more LC content!
I think it would be good for the channel!
Please keep the Jeep. You got a Toyota Tundra and your wife's Jeep is good for the channel.
LC or GX would be more suitable for a family. I agree that GX isn't that much more and definitely more refined. The most important thing is the GX motor. You have already experienced that motor driving the Tundra.🤯
Yup jeep won’t help the channel it’s old topic
3:32 I have the Thunderbox. I'm very happy with it and works well in most situations. The few places where it needs a modification is when placing it on sandy or loose surfaces. The bottom where the box meets the ground is thin metal. When you go to sit on it, it will just sink out of sight. Since I have an Alu-Cab privacy enclosure, I also pack a rubber bath mat with me and I place the Thunderbox on the bath mat, but any square piece of plywood would do just as nicely. Again, this is only a problem in loose gravel or on a sandy beach.
That's good to know! We have a Reliance folding toilet and I'm sure the legs would sink in soft sand too.
@@RevereOverlandwe need to get the thunder box. Way easier to clean.
You look good in the new Cruiser, it reminds me of our FJ 62 we bought new in 89’ we still have it.
The eclipse was EPIC at Notch Peak UT!!! Congrats on 97K and growing :)
Gah! I missed it again! Love the channel!❤
Thanks!
Aside from my fridge, the Thunderbox is one of the best pieces of kit I've invested in. It is expensive but worth every dime. I put some 3M hooks underneath the seat to accommodate various brands of wag bags.
We may be investing in one too!
Nice coverage.
Thanks for sharing this! Been meaning to return to Overland East, but timing seems always against me.
Great video. That Skotti grill guy was the best salesman I met at the show. Great product and he knew everything about it. Gotta get me one. They sold out fast at the show.
It’s a pretty cool piece of kit!
That grill is amazing
Loved our thunderbox at first. Worked great with our arctic trip. But the more we ended up using it in the 100s of times. We found that the MDF would absorb moisture from the bag with waste due to temp changes to the point of delaminating. We loved the designed but the lid being an issue we found another solution ironman4x4 who uses a composite lid solving this issue we found.
Awesome cool video👍🤙
Nice coverage. Look forward to the next Utah video you mentioned.
Just started editing it today!
@@RevereOverland woohoo!!!
I want that SHW off-road seat delete as a 60% tall option and40% flat for a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2!
hello! Thanks for that video. I particularly like the diesel heater but i cant find the right address for more info. THank
So sad that I didn't make it this year. Great vid buddy!
It was a pretty good show this year. I’m sure we’ll see you at next year’s!
That's the plan! @@RevereOverland
I know you are a big yota fan, but I would wait a year or two (debug time).
Bugs make content!
Recs for seat covers that are comfy?
I'm glad to see Toyota catching up with modern auto electronics and interior features, but not a fan of turbo charged 4 and 6 cylinder engines. Only time will tell how reliable and strong those engine choices will be I guess.
If they eventually give the option for a 4 cylinder turbo diesel and/or a NA v6 in the GX and Land Cruiser that would be more appealing.
I wonder if these twin turbo toyotas will last as long as the old toyotas. think I don't so.
So, it’s not really a Landcruiser like the 100, 200, or 300. It’s more like a revamped Prado 120 or 150?
Correct
I think I’ll just hold on to my 14’ 200 series a while longer. If/when I get something new, I’d lean more towards the GX. I had a 09’ GX in the past that was bulletproof and the new one has a regular, normal engine without all the hybrid stuff. 😎👍
@@Eric.V. yeah if you want something to replace a 200, this isn't it. You'd be better with something like the Sequoia size wise, although it still has the twin turbo hybrid. Tons of power compared to the 5.7, but more complex.
Keep it (engine) Simple Stupid!
sell the jeep.
Him much can the new LC tow?
6,000 lbs
Rob don't you dare to sale the Rubicon 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's two votes for no so far!
Can the land cruiser be driven as if it was full time 4Wd by leaving the center diff unlocked?
It is full time 4WD. You can lock the center in 4hi or 4lo.
@@RevereOverland I guess what I mean is can it be driven in 4wd on dry asphalt? For example that isn’t recommended on my 3rd gen Tacoma, but on the previous gen sequoia it’s okay.
@@currentlyhd7649 yes. It doesn't have 2WD, so it's full time 4WD with a center differential that has the option to lock like the previous generation Land Cruisers and the Lexus GX.
@@RevereOverlandGot it! Thank you. Great news!
The Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon is a better off roader than the new Toyota LC prado. Which the American love to called it 250 series. It is not 250 series it's a new gen Prado though it doesn't come with the Prado badge in the US(I known you're aware of that) . If it is really a 250 series LC it will come with a V6 or V8 turbocharged engine and not a four cylinder engine like the previous gen prado. Jeep wrangler and Gladiator are damn popular in the US and you're living in the US why get rid of a new Jeep wrangler V6 for another Toyota that too a LC prado. Instead do a few more modes on the Jeep like bigger tyres, stronger diff covers, skids, may be an Aux tank, more lights for the camps and for night runs. I'm just sharing my humble opinion.
We’ve done all those things to the Jeep except the aux tank (which we don’t really need here), and it’s amazing off road. There’s no other vehicle that would come close… but it drives like crap, so we never end up taking it anywhere, and the videos with it just don’t do as well on the channel.
Overland Expo, where you get to pay to access the venue so you can buy more crap that looks cool but you don't need.
But looking cool is important...
Sell the Jeep and get the new Land Cruiser!
Definitely sell the Jeep.....
Sell the jeep!
What's with the video quality?!
I used my new iPhone to shoot this and got some of the settings wrong
@@RevereOverland ProRes Log…
@@DaciaProject yeah that's what I had. I had action mode on too, since the stabilization is fantastic, but it kills the low light performance for some reason.
I'm also still figuring out the editing, and since I edited this while on the road, I didn't notice the sharpness needed tuning and contrast upping still.
All that, and you were standing next to a key new rig for overlanding, and you chose to NOT even mention the TrailHunter?! I like the new LC, too, but what a missed opportunity. Sigh. But, your channel, so your content choices. Despite this not being what I wanted, I do appreciate the work you put in. 😉
Yeah I probably should have sat in that too, but Toyota Jeff was taking forever and I had to get to a meetup!
No doubt it was the right call in the moment. 🙏 But…if you do happen across a TrailHunter as time winds on, by all means feel free to grab some footage! Gated at least one view right here of that video! Otherwise, what do you say we hang out this evening. You go one some trip and I’ll watch! Off to check out some of your recent trips! 🙂
Puts 15 cubic yards of untreated plywood inside a car, cuts out holes to save weight. 😂
Holes to save weight?
Better talk to the wife before you sell the Jeep! 😅
I don't think she'd mind!
Nah that’s fine. I love the look of the jeep but I’m tired of my bones shaking apart on the high way.
Sell the JEEP
Get rid of the Jeep. And get the LC
Sell the Jeep. This is much nicer on road and probably almost as capable off road.
The LC will definitely be much nicer to drive, but there’s no way it’ll be anywhere close to as capable as the Jeep!
@@RevereOverland if you lift it a bit and put some 34, 35“ rubber on it, won’t it be capable enough for you?
@@Gemini_0815 yes, I think so. I'm not out there to wheel the toughest Jeep Badge of Honor trails
That Ineos Grenadier is the bigges POS in the world! Who the hell will take that BMW engine offroad. Unreliable pos.
These expos are ridiculus everything is way overpriced.
