On this trip through Colorado and Utah we felt like we were completely new to overlanding (and videoing it) because we were traveling with our baby. My wife and I had gotten into a groove on previous trips, and suddenly had to learn everything again!
This trip was filmed between 10/17/22 and 10/22/22. This is a little late in the year to be doing a Colorado trip, and I'd recommend going a few weeks earlier.

Big props for continuing to do this with a baby. Too many new parents I know stop doing this completely or wait many years until their kids are "ready." My kid is a bit over a year old and we took her to Moab a few weeks ago. That was an eventful trip (including a night in Canyonlands when she decided to throw up in a vehicle for the first time ever), but the biggest joy of it was just how much she grew during that trip. Her personality opened up, she learned new skills, she just seemed to develop so much.
And yes, it was a completely new experience. We actually switched from our Tacoma to a Quigley Transit because of our (still changing) family situation. Where before we had things dialed in, on this trip the van was a complete disaster by about day 2. We'll need some time to work out everything, and it'll likely need to continue evolving as the kids grow.

I have the twin to Gladiator to your Wrangler, and will someday do Shaffer, Medano Pass, BB & Engineer! The Rubicon is amazing. I had heard the road to Tower Arch has gotten more difficult recently. I came upon that same trail to Tower Arch and yeah it's way more technical than I thought as well even with the research I did. I think TrailsOffroad has updated it to show that it is rougher and more technical than previously rated. I ended up hiking the couple miles trail to the arch from the other parking lot. Cool hike too. The dirt road back from the park to that trail is worse than the actual 4-WD trail...when I was there it was the worst washboard that I have ever experienced.
