  • Best Battle Tree Team Strategy Guide - Win Battles EASY - Pokemon Sun and Moon | Austin John Plays
Austin John Plays here and today we're going to be going over my strategy for the Battle Tree. Breed some pokemon, beat the tree, and let's get ready to get that BP for the next global link mission!
    ►Subscribe for more!!!! goo.gl/SSukBQ
As Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh had the Battle Tower, Unova had the Battle Subway, and Kalos had the Battle Maison, Alola has its own Battle Facility, but with a twist. This facility is the Battle Tree and is located just on the other end of Poni Gauntly. Here, you battle through numerous trainers, trying to get to the Battle Legend at the end, who introduced you to themselves as you entered, Red and Blue. As always, there's the Standard Battle Tree battles, but when you hit a streak of 20, you unlock the Super Battles with tougher trainers and even appearances from Dexio, Sina, Wally, Grimsley, Colress & Cynthia who you will encounter every 10 battles.
There are three different styles of battle here: Single, Double, Multi. The rules are the standard flat rules of Pokémon battling, locking out specific legends and preventing two of the same Pokémon and item.
Like before, instead of going through rounds of seven trainers, you will just continue to battle until you want to take a break, or you lose. This allows for you to go at your own pace and you don't forfeit anything by taking a break. In addition to that, you will receive at least 1 BP for every battle you win, straight after the battle with the value increasing as you get further into the streak. You get more if you take out the Battle Legends. Finally, you have the ability to change the battle music between multiple different tracks provided.
Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon are the first set of Generation VII Pokémon games, coming for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide in 2016. Not much is known about these games yet, but they will come worldwide in 2016 and contain the addition of Chinese to the languages
In addition to this, there's the capability of receiving data from Pokémon Red, Green, Blue & Yellow through Pokémon Bank into this game.
The game is to be set in the Alola Region, where there are numerous New Pokémon. It contains various improved graphical mechanics, as well as the return of trainer customisation. guide best battle tree team commentary pokemon sun walkthrough vgc 2017

Doing cheap moves like toxic is not frowned upon on the battle tree... it's encouraged because of how annoying it can be XD

-Suday - only salazzle/salandit can poison togedemaru or any steel type, because steel types are imune to poison, but because of salazzle/salandits ability, corrosion, will let it poison the togedemaru or any steel type/poison type

but salazzle can be easily OHKO'd and if salazzle is your last pokemon and youre battling something like a mamoswine with still the togedemaru at the end, expect ur ded

    My team was
    Salazzle
    Toxapex
    Mimikyu
Mimikyu was in the front and did most of the sweeping. If it fainted, depending on what it is, Salazzle or Toxapex would come out. But Mimikyu practically sweeped the entire tree.

NOOOOOO. dude don't confuse people by saying Return goes off of max affection! that's not how it works, it goes off of max happiness. in other words the Pokemon Refresh does not effect Return/Frustration's base power at all. Affection only gives those chances to crit/dodge in-game when maxed out or allows Eevee to evolve into Sylveon. Everything else in the game is based off of happiness, which is done by leveling your pokemon up, using vitamins, or bringing them to important battles (i.e. elite four). I have a few friends new to the game that spent way too much time invested in Pokemon Refresh before I corrected them, and I'd hate this to happen to other people as well

I gave the battle tree a try for the first time this week. The furthest I have managed to get is about 5 battles before being defeated. No matter what Pokémon you use, you will eventually encounter something that your team is weak against. In my past couple of attempts, I kept falling victim to a Gengar who uses Hypnosis and Dream Eater.

Aegislash is AMAZING in Battle Tree singles.
A good lead is Lum Berry Multiscale Dragonite. Give him EVs to make his speed exactly 134 (because 1 Dragon Dance makes speed 201 so he can outspeed base 130 speed Pokemon) and put everything else into attack and HP. Having an Aegislash handy is great because he can eat potential Ice-Type moves. I also recommend a Mega Gyarados for your final slot because Intimidate is super clutch.
Here's a Scenario: Dragonite vs. Mamoswine when the battle starts. You decide to switch into Aegislash so it can eat the Icicle Crash. Next turn, Mamoswine is going to Earthquake you, so you switch into Gyarados, who will get Intimidate off to lower its attack one stage. Then, Mamoswine is going to try to use Icicle crash again, so you let Aegislash eat it, and you can keep switching back and forth. This is why I suggest giving Aegislash Leftovers. You'll recover 1/8 of your HP every turn with King's Shield protecting you. I can't stress how good Aegislash is for Battle Tree singles. AI can't predict anything so they'll play right into a King's Shield, dropping their attack 2 stages. The only problem there is Earthquake, which is why I recommend having a flying/levitate Pokemon that isn't your lead.
And for Dragonite I run Lum Berry (with Multiscale) because burn/Swagger exist. It's hilarious getting up a DD and they Swagger you and you just shrug it off and Outrage their whole team into oblivion.
    I hope I helped, guys.

If you're stupid like me and forget that Dragon Dance is an egg move until after you fully EV train your Bagon, then Focus Energy makes for a pretty good substitute. You'll get a lot more crits off, and most times end up doing a lot more than you would with Dragon Dance.

I honestly think Mimikyu as a lead is absolutely amazing. The thing is decently fast and only a handful of Pokemon can survive a Shadow Claw or Play Rough after Swords Dance. Disguise basically gives you a free turn to set up.
    My Mimikyu Set is:
    Nature: Jolly
    Item: Life Orb
    252 ATK, 4 S.Def, 252 Speed
    Moves:
    -Swords Dance
    -Play Rough
    -Shadow Sneak
    -Shadow Claw

I have the same IV spread for my Mimikyu except I use this:
      Item: Normalium Z
      Moves:
      Splash
      Play Rough
      Shadow Claw
      Slash

    • @zoomsuper6484
      @zoomsuper6484 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

SBroproductions I use the same except I use Hone Claws for SD, and I give it Darkinium Z.
      +2 Attack +1 Accuracy
For no IV breeding or chaining, it's actually quite the sweeper. Best part is that that 90% Accuracy on Play Rough won't be as much of a problem.

    • @Venom3254
      @Venom3254 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I use one with 252 defense and 252 speed ev have it hold leftovers and taught it
      Play rough
      leech life
      shadow sneak
      bulk up

    • @deathsoal
      @deathsoal 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use this set.
      Mimikyu
      Adamant
      @Lum Berry
      EVs: 252 HP, 252 Att, 4 SDef.
      Swords Dance
      Shadow Sneak
      Shadow Claw
      Playrough
in the battle tree I find that the enemy AI will double use status moves, hypnosis, Thunder Wave, which gives you a free set up turn with Swords Dance. Max HP is for surviving Physical sweepers, because Mimikyu is a lot tanker then you would expect even with the Disguise ability. You can survive a max attack Scarfchomp.

Yo. Nice vid. Wanted to ask a question and share a doubles-team with you.
    1) How in the hell did you manage to get 3 Mons to lvl 100 in two days?
    2) This is a team I´ve been using for doubles. Its not brainy or anything, a little bit reckless but very fun to play with.
    Tapu Koko @ Life Orb
    Ability: Electric Surge
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Thunder
    - Volt Switch/Discharge
    - Dazzling Gleam
    - Protect/Grass Knot
    Pelipper (F) @ Damp Rock
    Ability: Drizzle
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
    Bold Nature
    - Hurricane
    - Scald
    - Tailwind/U-Turn
    - Protect/Roost
    Raichu-Alola (F) @ Focus Sash / Electrium Z
    Ability: Surge Surfer
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk
    - Thunderbolt
    - Fake Out
    - Psychic
    - Volt Switch/Protect
    Gastrodon @ Expert Belt
    Ability: Storm Drain
    EVs: 180 HP / 108 Def / 212 SpA / 4 SpD
    Modest Nature
    - Earth Power
    - Scald
    - Toxic/Recover/Protect
    - Rain Dance
So, pretty simple Rain-Thunder. Lead Tapu and Pelipper, sets drizzle for the thunder, then either tailwind or pivot another mon in.
Raichu is there because of surge surfer, its a pretty frail mon but I like using it.
Watch out for other Weather teams that might cancel your rain (hence the Rain Dance on Gastrodon). Grass Types might be problem, also things like Ferrothorn. Its not the best team, but its pretty fun to play with. So far it has taken me through all double battles and about 30 super double battles (so around 50 I guess).

    • @CatKingx
      @CatKingx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

andré Nunes just use a Syncronize ability Pokémon in the first slot of your party when you challange tapus or other Legendary pokémons, you can Breed a lot of abras to get different natures :) (note: abra need to have the nature you want, them you will have 50% chances of getting that nature on the Pokémon you want to capture)

    • @AndreNunesRazvickas
      @AndreNunesRazvickas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

ty about that but how they manage the iv's? they do the same thing for competitive mons that are shiny?

    • @CatKingx
      @CatKingx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

andré Nunes for IVs they are random, same as shinys, usually for competitive people train their Pokémons to LVL 100, for the hyper training that trains your Pokémon IVS to max with gold bottle, about the shinys , you need Lucky to get the same nature of your abra, just luck (hope I Help :) )

    Here is my team:
    Salamence with Salamencite
    Jolly Nature
    252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 SpDef
    -Earthquake
    -Dragon Dance
    -Roost
    -Return
    Ability: Intimidate
Mega Salamence (or Megamence, my nickname for it but my In-game nickname for it is Crescent / Yoshi) is, obviously, the powerhouse. Capable of OHKOing almost anything that comes in with one Dragon Dance set up. Return is the obvious STAB move and Earthquake is there for coverage for Pokemon like Terrakion and Gigalith (which by the way, are some that appear in the Battle Tree).
A counter for Mega Salamence is *Skarmory* , which hard walls it. Mega Salamence would need a few Dragon Dances to even 2HKO Skarmory. Skarmory can also safely set up Stealth Rocks and proceed to phaze it with Whirlwind.
Another counter for this would be *Mamoswine* , which unless Mega Salamence has TWO Dragon Dances set up, would be OHKOed by Mamoswine's super effective Ice-type moves. Therefore, another Pokemon I have handles these two Pokemon very well.
I want to talk about my Kartana.
    Kartana with Life Orb
    Jolly Nature
    252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Speed
    -Smart Strike
    -Leaf Blade
    -Sacred Sword
    -Swords Dance
    Ability: Beast Boost
Kartana is my lead pick for this team, being able to safely set up Swords Dance on physical attackers and sweep with its amazing coverage and high natural Attack stat of 181. Smart Strike and Leaf Blade are its STAB moves, being able to handle threats like Mamoswine and Mega Gyarados, respectively. Sacred Sword also deals with these two types, Dark- and Ice- while also facing Steel-type Pokemon as well, for example, Mega Aggron and Steelix. Because of Beast Boost, Kartana basically has the ability Moxie, making each KO a benefit to Kartana's Attack, raising it.
However, no Pokemon come without counters and Kartana is no exception. In fact, there are tons of counters for Kartana. For example, *many Specially Offensive Pokemon* like Choice Specs Whimsicott and Heatran do very well against Kartana but both need to beware of its coverage moves. Although Whimsicott outspeeds Kartana, it needs to watch out of Smart Strike, while Heatran on the other hand needs to be careful of Sacred Sword.
*Keep Kartana away from Fire-types, especially specially offensive ones.* Due to Kartana's "paper-thin" (haha, see what I did there?) HP and Special Defense stats, it is prone to being burned alive by a Fire Blast or Flamethrower. *Some Pokemon you should watch out for are Talonflame, Mega Charizard Y, and Salazzle.*
The third counter is when going against a Pokemon that has *Trick Room*. Because Kartana is super fast, it will most likely end up in a situation where it will always move last due to Trick Room effects. Some Pokemon that get this move are *Cresselia, Cofagrigus, and Oranguru,* however all of these Pokemon take a huge hit before using Trick Room, if Trick Room is already up however, then take a look at the last Pokemon on my team.
    Meet my Toxapex.
    Toxapex with Black Sludge
    Bold Nature
    252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef
    -Scald
    -Toxic
    -Recover
    -Haze
    Ability: Regenerator
Here it is, the premier wall of OU and quite possibly a useful wall in the Battle Tree as well. It can face off against very bulky foes like Mega Blastoise and Mandibuzz because of Toxic + Recover stalling. Haze is there for the Stockpile users such as Pelipper. And Scald is there so Toxapex is not completely walled by Steel-types. In fact, there is a reason to use Scald, as it has a chance to burn them. Toxapex's low Speed allows it to function as a great Trick Room counter and its great defenses allow it to tank many hits.
Some counters include *Empoleon*. who walls Toxapex entirely, due to not being able to be poisoned, *physical and special Ground-types like Mamoswine and Landorus* can hit with a very powerful Earthquake / Earth Power. Psychic-types like *Bruxish and Cresselia* and lastly, its low offensive stats hinder it a bit, making Toxapex a very passive Pokemon. Oh yeah, and don't forget Electric-types like Zapdos, Raikou, Raichu, Magnezone, and Thundurus. Yeah, these things are out for blood.
So. that's it. This is officially my longest comment ever.

  • @BlockBlazer
    @BlockBlazer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I actually use a impish max hp mega salamence. i highly prefer this over pure sweep salamence since with the intimidate it can survive some weak physical ice-type moves.

#Lucario-Mega - Jolly Nature with max Spe/Ata EVs
    -Bullet Punch
-Close Combat (or High Jump Kick, if you already scouted for Protect users)
-Rock Slide (Better acc than Stone Edge)
    -Swords Dance
#Chandelure - Timid Nature with max Spe/SpA EVs
    - Item: Air Baloon
    - Ability: Flash Fire
    -Fire move of choice
; i usually run Overheat or Flamethrower
    -Energy Ball
(for the likes of Hippowdon and Swampert)
    -Shadow Ball

    -Substitute or a secondary stab
This Chand will basically pivot into any Ground/ Fire/ Fighting moves aimed at Lucario.
Latios can also function as a backup for Mega Lucario, since it resists Fire and Fighting, and also has that pseudo-immunity to Ground. It sponges some non-Z elemental moves really well. Draco Meteor hits hard everything except for Steel and Fairy, but those types are up to Lucario and Chandelure to beat.
#Latios - Timid Nature with max Spe/SpA EVs, or you can try a more defensive spread with Def/ HP investment
    - Item: Dragonium Z
    -Draco Meteor
    -Psychic/ Psyshock
    -Calm Mind
    -Recover
Alternatively, or if you fear faster threats such as Megas Gengar, Salamence and Alakazam, Choice Scarf would turn Latios into a fast revenge killer at the cost of flexibility. Just swap Calm Mind/ Recover for Shadow Ball and Ice Beam.

Muk is stockpile. I use shiny mega Salamence. The problem with him... because he is shiny I wasn't able to get the right nature. Then I use toxapex with toxic, t-spikes, baneful bunker, and venoshock the problem is steal types. Then my final one is a full healing shiny meganium. Gigadrain, synthesis, leach seed, aromatherapy, which helps with ones like crobat with hypnosis. My salamence is almost the same as the one here. (I'm working on a shiny toxapex)

My team for Battle tree is Incineroar, Pelipepper and Magnezone (sorry if I spelt any of those names wrong). I tried to use Pokémon with the basic type advantages (except for Magnezone, since I don't have a grass type in my team) so getting super effective hits are easier

    Here's my team:
Ampharos: I use him as my lead pokemon, most battles he's been able to sweep the opponents entire team. Moveset: confuse ray, thunder, dragon pulse, power gem. Item: electrium z
Volcarona: volcorona is only used when ampharos goes down, but can still sweep. Moveset: quiver dance, firery dance, bug buzz, hurricane.
Swampert/any tanky physical hitter: I use swampert because he can hit rock/steel/ground types hard, unlike the rest of my team. Moveset: hammer arm, waterfall, rock slide, earthquake. There's better options but he's the only physical tank I have atm
Just remember ampharos can sweep 90% of the time :)

Matthew Schutze, uh none of my Pokémon are lvl 100 and when I go into battle tree they have all their iv's/ev's.... if that's what your implying your wrong

    • @anthonyjaramillo6956
      @anthonyjaramillo6956 7 ปีที่แล้ว

First EVs can be maxed out with the PokePelago and update after the next battle as of X and Y. So that is wrong information.
However the IVs that are acquired through hours of breeding are distributed over the 100 levels. So if you had no intention of breeding a team and bottle capping it at the end, it would have the same effect as if you bred it leveled it to 100 and capped the missing IVs but more costly.
Lastly IVs total to 31 points of stats that you don’t lose when a Pokémon is capped at 50.
In conclusion no, you don’t need to but if you ever intend to take the next step in competitive battling it’s something you’ll have to accept in the end.

I think it's complete and utter bullshit how the Pokemon Company/GameFreak gives players the middle finger at the battle tree. The Pokemon always counter your Pokemon so there's no fair matches at all. I remember I had an Incineroar,Eelektross, and UB-01 on my team and the CPU apparently had a Poliwrath,Golem, and an Alakazam. The CPU won on pure b.s and it was my first battle. Why can't the Battle Tree become harder as you progress instead of becoming impossible on your first try? Is the PC/GF trying to discourage players from getting the items they want? What was wrong with buying the Mega stones? no one complained I could understand items like Leftovers,Choice Band, and the orbs, and the moves. But Mega stones crossed the line. I hope they fix this in a future Pokemon game because the Battle Tree is making me iffy about Gen 7.

    • @DanielReyes-kv8ek
      @DanielReyes-kv8ek 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

Dexter Ferguson The whole type countering thing is all for the sake of forcing the player to adapt. Yes, its really fucking annoying, but i guess you can call it competitive tutoring. About the mega stones, i agree with it being a bit dumb how megas are pratically locked until the end of the game, but then again i think thats because the developers wanted to focus more in the use of z-moves than megas.

My highest problem with it is that it forces you to build a Perfect competitive team, even if you're like me and don't give a fuck about numbers and just want to fight! Also, you need IV's, EV's, and held items to have a chance at the Battle Tree. But, Essential items for Iv breeding and EV training CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED VIA THE BATTLE TREE! I honestly wished there were difficulty levels. Like, an Easy mode if you just want to fight, or get BP for items you'll need to get ready for actual competitive battles, and a Supers mode for those of us with Super Competitive teams and stuff. I honestly liked the Battle Subway from Black and White more - it was fairly challenging later on, yet still was Possible!

I like the doubles in the battle tree. I've been playing around with teams and I got a Xurktree (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and jolteon in the front. Xurktree has the life orb with max sp.atk and balanced defs and hp. Jolteon is a speed boosting baton passer who holds the electric z-stone with thunder as it's only atk move and protect because why not. Xurktree knows a combination of atks no set up moves but discharge to heal my jolteon and deal damage to everybody else. I have agislash (again sorry for any misspelling.) that has max atk and the worst possible speed. it has gyro ball, kings shield, shadow sneak and swords dance which I think is normal. my last who benefits from the speed boost is maga metagross who is designed for fast physical sweeping with max atk and speed.

If you want to use Golisopod.
I'd recommend training him in HP and ATK
    and have him with:
First Impression, Leech Life, Razor Shell and Sucker Punch.
And for the Item I use Red Card or Shell Bell or Life Orb.
He's not particularly fast, but he is bulky and hits like a truck.
Plus finding ways to get off his First Impression is a given considering his Emergency Exit abillity.
