Theo other one is not broken, it's Just stuck from pulling the pin up while removing the old spindle, just remove the new spindle from It, press the pin down or hammer It down a bit, that It will go back to work. God bless you man!
had a ps1 in the mail yesterday, which i got for 15€ ...half of the spindle was gone. replacements costs 6€ at best and a fully working console is still over 21€ here, so i knew i had to grab it! already not in the mood for 5:40 😁
I recommend lifting up the spindle with something like a thin and blunt butter knife or feeler gauge instead of attacking it like a caveman. There are much better videos on how to do it than this one and I suggest people look elsewhere.
I have a problem with my old PlayStation 1. We've had ours for years, but unfortunately, the cats messed it up and now it freezes when try and load. It just stays on the initial loading screen and does nothing. We got a replacement and it works fine, but the spindle is messed up to where it won't grip the discs properly and you can hear them scraping against the inside of the console when you boot it up, so what I'm asking is, would it be possible to just transfer the old cap to the newer system since the old cap still grips on properly?
Could you help troubleshoot fixing these? I have one also that doesn't spin to read the disk. I'm going to try to pull the spindle up a little hopefully that's all thats wrong with it.
Hi, Good video man. I have a similar problem with the disk drive, it doesn't spin anymore and I think it's the spindle motor that doesn't move at all cause it's an old one. I opened my Ps1 and tried dto fix it, yet it still doesn't work and the PS gets stuck in the white loading screen. Think I will replace the whole disk drive since the PS wasn't loading games properly even before I opened the ps1. Do you have any special tips for the repair? Thanks to anyone answering this question.
Anyone can be replaced, you'll simply need a ribbon extension cable, that big goldish one, and ull need to take the power cable thing from the old drive and put it in new drive
I have a question about this repair. I did the same fix but during fmvs and other times, the music or fmv stutters or skips a bit. Music as well within the game once in awhile. I noticed the Spindle keeps sliding up and I have to check it and press it back down. Any chance you experience this or know a fix for it?
Thanks for the question. I haven't had any problems with mine yet. I haven't used it much since the repair, maybe 5 hours. I would say some loctite or crazy glue but that could cause an even bigger issue if you're not careful.
Awesome video very informative and it helped someone who has never changed one before

Either that or the contrary, It got stuck from pushing down, so just push the pin back up and re insert the spindle!
NOw lemme tell ya ... those spindle are one heck of a problem! I've broken 3 wobblies since yesterday

What do you avoid parts of the spindle coming off? Is there a way to avoid it happening?

i have the same issue. i’m guessing it’s just because the laser can’t read the game correctly and yes the spindle replacement should fix it i hope
Well, I have to admit, you got way more subscribers and views than any of my videos.
Lo que te sucedio es que siempre se debe de retirar del Lector no de la placa ya que eso pasa en esos modelos en los 5501, y en los 9001

Be careful when removing the Disc Drive, as it has a thin ribbon cable that will shear off if too much pressure is applied to it.
what motor should you use for these replacements?
I have psx pal region 7502 with ksm-440aem. Can I replace it with ksm-440adm?
I've searched for an answer to this before and best I could find is no. Maybe I'll try it out and make a video of it.
