I've been back to Crane in the middle of winter and out on the ice. I've seen people ice fishing there. It's a nice hike and easy stretch of the legs. Fifth Peak on the Tongue Mt range is a nice winter hike, especially the view from the peak looking down on the Narrows. It's not a difficult hike coming in from 9N, maybe about 3.5 miles but there is about a 2,000 foot gain in elevation.
Love Crane Mtn, been there a few times, such a beautiful hike and view and the lake is awesome. I really recommend Black Mountain in Lake George , easier hike but it is the best view in lake George without a doubt!
@ I could definitely try, I’m trying to hone in on more Lake George scenery, and content, I usually do a lot of the harder, high peak hikes I just had to start filming them, along with more Lake George stuff
@ gotcha, I’m hoping to get into some more high peaks next summer I’ve mostly gone with just smaller lake George hikes haven’t adventured further north into the ADKs yet , hopefully soon , best of luck with your future adventures brother hike safe !
My son his mother and I did this hike a couple years ago the views are awesome
