I made earrings with your pattern using embroidery thread and a 0.60mm needle and I have to say that tutorial was so easy to follow and it turned out great! Thanks so much!!!
with a wider acrylic yarn do 12 chains, make a slip stitch in the first chain to make the leaf pointier, than follow on and to the second and third 5 chains, add only 2 instead of three single crochet at the end. also skip the row with 6 chains to make the leaf more delicate ( saving for future me) 5:33
Hey girl, thank you for such a clear instruction!! I was about to give up and then got your video. Thank you again. I could not do the other side as your video says to repeat the same thing again haha but that’s just my brain . I will do it again though. Just dropped in to say this video has the clearest instructions!
Loved this tutorial and the shape it gives the leaves. Just went and purchased the Etsy pattern to support and also because I prefer written instructions! Thank you!
Awesome! Im going to try to make a granny square around this. I think it would be doable because of the leaf’s round shape. The leaf was exactly what I needed though, thank you!
@@KristinesDay what a coincidence! 😅 I’ll definitely still be watching that haha. Also unrelated, but I have a question. I have a pattern for a small bird that would fit inside of a granny square but I’ve been stumped for days trying to actually design the granny square around it, because of the odd shape of the bird. Would you have any advice for working a square around such an odd shape? If needed I can write out the pattern (only if you wanted to mess around with it of course) for the bird. It’s a very short and simple pattern though have a great day!
SERIOUS QUESTION CAN ANY PRO CROCHETER HELP ME: if i wanted to like make this 10x bigger like the size of a blanket how would i go about that? like where do i even begin with scaling it? if this is possible or if anyone has tips plssss lmk
I keep ending up with three chains left when we’re meant to stretch the half leaf back to the start point so we can do the single crochets, idk what I’m doing wrong
Hey thank you so much for the pattern. I have done a few leafs already but they are always curling up. Yours look so flat. Any tips on how to get there? Do you make the first chains very loose or how does it work for you? Thank you 😊
I made this recently, and mind turned out flat! I would check to make sure the yarn you're using is the right kind, and that you're not pulling too hard when you make a stitch. I do everything pretty loose, and tighten up after if needed.
Thank you for sharing your advice! I can second that! 🙌 Perhaps you can also try to stretch it as you go and make the chains in the base a little looser :)
Because these plants grow to be like 40ft tall with leaves that can reach up to about 4ft in diameter... they are MONSTEROUS. Plants are often named in Latin, so looking at it from that point of view it just means it's very big.

Could someone please provide a written explanation? I really appreciate that format! I did manage to finish one leaf, but it took me quite a while. Thank you!

To get to the beginning you first have to do SC to get to the starting point. From there all the steps will be the same :)

Beautiful! 🪴
Thank you! 🥰
I’m a bit confused when I repeat the process for the other side do I chain 12 again ?
Once you reach the end, you have to do 12SC on the other side to get those the beginning or top of the leaf.

LOVE this leaves and the way you explain each step makes it seem easy. Is there a way to make them bigger? So they can work as glass coasters?
Thank you! 💚 It would require some playing around to make it longer and make the sides bigger.
I was thinking the same thing! Have you tried and figured it out yet?
@@xbchng I used Loops &Threads Classic Cotton. It is 109m/70.9g with 5.5mm hook. The leaf I made is big enough for a glass coaster.

If I was to use wire would I use it maybe on last row?
I wanna make a mini plant with this pattern
yes, that should work :)
@@KristinesDaywhat round would I use it on ? Sorry I didn't see u already comment on this .. I asked again on accident,
Does anyone know what round I would use a wire the last?
Do I just keep bending the wire to the leaf corners
Who the heck named this cute leaf as MONSTERa 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
right?! 😆
That’s the plants name
Because these plants grow to be like 40ft tall with leaves that can reach up to about 4ft in diameter... they are MONSTEROUS.
Plants are often named in Latin, so looking at it from that point of view it just means it's very big.
Because of their huge size
I think it sounds really good
Any idea on how and when i can attach wire? So i can put my monsteras into a pot
I would attach it at the end by weaving it through the middle part of the leaf :)

I'm confused on how to flip this to other side and repeat the steps and the stitches match front and back??
Turn the work on the other side so you can start adding stitches there. It will be the same stitches as on the initial side 🤗
