I think it would be lovely to make a whole lot of these in different shades of greens and hang them as a curtain in a doorway between rooms. I could see making these in shades of orange and red and doing the same thing during fall. Even adding some beautiful beads between them In staggered spots would be lovely. So many ideas! Thank you so much for sharing this.
So for those of you who may be unfamiliar, this is essentially tunisian simple stitch while cleverly varying the size of the loops to end up with the leaf shape. I think this is a quite creative use of the stitch.
Thanks for that. There was nothing about it in the description. It's good to be able to identify and understand various techniques. Not just observe a process. Although process is important, understanding is it's other half. :)
I learned crochet decades ago - well, the simple stuff. It's the knitting I've never gotten through my thick skull. Closest I can come is Tunisian Knit Stitch, LOL!
@@MaryAnnNytowl - I can’t needle knit, either. I do loom knit but it’s just not the same. My biggest problem with both is figuring out how to hold the working yarn and maintain even tension.
I have never seen her method before of wrapping it around your finger. The Crochet Crowd TH-cam used to have good beginner videos, if they are still free. So many youtubers are making their sites paid sites.
OMG absolutely beautiful. Thank you for a AWESOME video. All the leaf videos I found were pretty much the same, then I found yours! Again thank you. ❤️
I 💖 your idea! I have a friend who collects .... of all things, bookmarks! I think I'll make her one! She doesn't knit or crochet, so she'll appreciate it! Great idea! 👍
Thank you for sharing your talent. It took me many times to get this. I'm not familiar with simple Tunisian stitches so I couldn't get the leaf shape like you. I finally figured out out. You made the end stitches tight and the the middle stitches loose. I finally got it and am pleased with the results. I doubled the yarn to make it bigger, but it's still the same concept.
I wish you'd speak. It's so hard to follow for me 🙈, but such a beautiful pattern. Never heard about Tunisian crochet before. I'd love to turn this into a bookmark.
@@Marialla. oh, the first thing that occurred to me was garland! You could use it for several types, too. As a suggestion, I'd double or triple the distance between leaves, and I'd double that again after every 3 or 4 leaves. Then, for a Christmas theme, add a bell or snowflake in the longer stretches, for a Spring theme, add a flower, for an Easter theme you've got a cross for a religious variety and an Easter egg for a secular variety. You could have one or two for each season, and for each holiday! Just an idea. 🙂
Sehr schön❤und so einfach nach zu häkeln 😊 Endlich kann ich mein Häkelpulli damit schmücken ❤ Vielen Dank das du es zeigst wie es geht.🌷🌷🌷Liebe Grüße 🌷 🌷
There is another way to make a pupil using the cheat’s version of a French knot. Take a strand of black yarn, act as if you are tying a simple knot (as you would when tying a shoelace), but wrap one end several times around and through the loop. Slowly pull each end of the yarn to close the knot whilst encouraging the wrapped strands to come together tightly. Tie another knot to create a round knot, pull both ends through the work keeping the knot on top, thread the ends a couple of times separately in the same direction and then tie off again to secure them to your work. 😊
The other problem is that you also need to know if it's American crochet or UK crochet as the stitches are different, eg double crochet in US is treble crochet in the UK. 🇬🇧

Such a great idea!
WOW! I can picture it! That's a gorjuss idea! And in winter there can be a combo of snowflakes and grayish-blue leaves :)
That's a beautiful idea as well... I never thought about snowflakes!
Great idea, thanks 😊
That's a great idea like those beaded curtains from the 70's!!!!

This is so cool! So many possibilities... I'm thinking a belt, bookmark, purse strap, and headband! This was soothing to watch too. Thank you!
I LOVE this design! And the little buds at the end? PERFECT. I'm going to make a headband out of this-- perfect for spring. thank you!!
This is awesome. If it takes me the rest of my life, I am going to learn how to crochet!!!
TH-cam videos are how I learned - it's great, you can pause and rewind as much as you want :)

This is a fantastic idea, thanks a lot for showing us!
This is oddly satisfying to watch. Love it!

I just found the new garland for my Christmas tree. Thank you 😊

Very talented and pretty. But it always bugs me when people refer to crocheting as knitting . They are two separate things.
Agreed, it's not good
