Great video Mr Henry Tamburin, I bought and read your book Blackjack Take the Money and Run a long time ago when it first came out and I loved it and still do but you failed to mention on this video above regarding good rules that the penetration of whatever deck you're playing is extremely important because as you know if a dealer only deals half the cards or 50% for example that they have and they Shuffle it's not even close to being as beneficial or even worthwhile to play compared to if they deal 80% of all the cars that they have before they Shuffle Etc. and you know that but could you please put your Blackjack book Take the Money and Run on Kindle version so that I can buy and have that version also so that I can read it again on my phone or tablet or wherever I'm at please? Thanks, I bought your paperback book at least a couple times before but they're currently misplaced so I would love to get the Kindle version if you put it out on Kindle because I'm hoping all these older books come out on Kindle version and a lot of them have now but there's still quite a few that haven't yet but they should all be on Kindle version for all of us serious players and collectors of all these great classic Blackjack books just like yours!
I agree with this, actually. 6-5 is terrible odds, but I think a 6-5 single deck game with good pen that allows doubling on any first two cards and doubling after splits can still be worth it versus the 3-2 with HEAVY restrictions that shuffles after the first hand or two.
I did not know the answer so I asked a card counter friend. He said you wouldn't make any changes because with lots of 10s left you are more likely to hit your double downs and the dealer is more likely to bust when they are supposed to
Question for you regarding counting / increasing bets when the deck is heavy with tens & face: Since the dealer is drawing their hand from the same cards, is my advantage only the ability to be aggressive when I have choices to make about splitting and doubling? If I couldn't double and split, would there still be a good reason to increase my bets based on the deck being full of high cards?
Double downs an blackjacks are the most important reasons card counting is in your favor. If you cannot double down but can split, forget about getting the advantage.
@@GaryLuKOTH I know this is 3 yrs old but I ran across it and its not so simple. So this is less targeted at you and more for anyone trying to find an answer who happen by. Most face down games don't allow DAS and only double on 9-11 or 10-11. These games with these rules and up to 50% pen are still the most friendly to low bank rolls and very good ev/risk. I recommend new players actually seek them out. If you have a larger bank roll they tend to be watched too closely for you to get away with what you want but exceptions exist. For the guy with a tiny bank roll needing to preserve low ror games with a small spread (and ok ev) this is what you're looking for. If you're playing 6+ deck and see 50% pen ndas then yes, definitely avoid like the plague. Treat them like a 6:5 game and look at the table with disdain and disgust. Why is face down so good? Because it's going to be a single or double deck. Using cvcx if you can get one on one time with even a semi competent dealer you can keep risk of ruin below 2% with under 10k bank roll and ev at $30-40. You'll need to learn a slightly altered basic strategy for these games and please dear god learn all deviations not just the most profitable and get good at negative deviations because you can't easily wong out of these games. If you can do this though they are extremely profitable. I recommend looking at wizard of odds if you're interested in the math behind it. I guess the tldr is it depends on the game. Good single deck I've been told are hard to find but I'm finding more and more. Double deck are spattered everywhere so you can probably find a few worth playing but be careful because the casinos know these games are profitable too. Check a house edge calculator and you'll see that if you're playing a single or double deck with das, split any, rsa the player actually has an edge with just simple basic strategy. No counting needed. This is why they kinda have to put these rules in place. Anyway good luck.
Is BlackJack the only game where a Casino will force you to leave if they suspect you of counting cards or are there other games where they will force you to leave for excessive winnings and what would those circumstances be, excluding drunk, rude, threatening behavior?
If a casino thinks that you, somehow, have an advantage over then they will bar you from playing. This has happened to some video poker players, as well as blackjack players. I have not heard of it happening to slot machine players.
AmericanCasinoGuide. Would you be interested in making a video on how to prevent being forced to leave a Casino for counting cards or what you should do if a Casino tells you to leave, not because you are drunk, rude, threatening...but because you are winning and they suspect you of something like counting cards?
Casinos are considered private clubs and they ask you to leave for any reason, as long as it's not discriminatory. Usually, they will just bar you from playing blackjack rather than asking you to leave. In New Jersey and Missouri they can't ask you to stop playing because you are counting cards. However, they can make you flat bet which would not allow you to gain any advantage.
I have a question as a card counter I use KO count and want to learn the illustrious 18 but where can I find a chart of the illustrious 18 used with KO (all the charts I find only use illustrious 18 with Hi-Lo)
KO is an uneven count system this system is advantages because you do not need to convert a running count to a true count as you work deeper in the shoe like with hi/lo The problem with KO it does not keep adjusting to the shoe penetration so much of the deviations would not be available for KO because of the unbalanced country
Sure! Watch the other players that may be counting for you! You can tell who the counters are by observing them. Not talking a lot and really paying attention to ALL of the cards being played. Watch for bet size changes. Not so much their strategy. Players that drink less may be counting. Sit next to first or third base,so you can easily see all of the cards being played, after the dealer turns them over. I just watch high and low cards and see the general mix of cards that were played.
What about adjusting your title based on your gain/loss ratio for disguise? Begin as a low gambler - losing: congrats you're an advantage player, winning: congrats you're a gambler. Gain a sufficient advantage, play the luck game see if you win, if lose quit on your designated allotted amount relative to new bankroll. Come back another day, week, month. Blackjack play is hilarious, to really play you have to transcend boundaries *but don't get caught* hahaha.
It's still possible to be a long-term winner at electronic blackjack games if the benefits of the player's club outweigh your expected losses. You would have to do some research on the games offered and the benefits received in order to see if it could be worthwhile for you.
AmericanCasinoGuide. Are Casino BlackJack games moving away from allowing the players to hold the cards in their hands? Do you have an idea of what percent of Casinos allow players to touch/hold the cards versus not being able to touch/hold the cards?
You can only hold your cards in single, or double-deck, blackjack game. If the cards are dealt from a shoe then you aren't supposed to touch the cards.
Nearly any bankroll is a good bankroll to start with if you have good bankroll management. Colin from Blackjack Apprenticeship started with only $2000 and was able to grow to $600K.
Card counting problem. If the shoe is rich in 10s from the start you dont increase your bet and when the low cards balance, you will lose your ass, trust me!
Of course they care. If you are a card counter you would not be welcome in a casino. Therefore, you would need to try and disguise your play, or play on a team that disguised its play.
It is not about guaranteeing a win. It is about getting the edge. Notice that the casino is not guaranteed to win money in any run, but there is a reason why the house wins in the long run. The high cards benefit the player because they are better for the player than for the dealer. For instance, blackjacks guarantee either win or push for both the player and the dealer. The difference is that if the player gets blackjack, then they get paid 3 to 2 while for the dealer, they only get paid 1 to 1.
Yes, If a casino figures out that you are counting cards they will probably ban you. That's why card counters like to play on teams as it helps them to disguise their play. One person can count cards and bet small. When there is a favorable situation for the player he can signal a team member to come over to the table and make big bets, while the counter continues to make small bets. Since the new player hasn't been at the table long enough to be counting cards the large betting is less suspicious to the casino personnel.
-Using another person to bet for you is Conspiracy and another reason for the Casino to force you to leave. There is no conspiracy as there is no law that is being broken. Counting cards is perfectly legal because you are simply using your brain. Casinos just don't like it when you do it.
Depends on the casino & how much you wager. For example my bets usually range from $1 to $5 at my local casino and from $5 to $10 elsewhere. Fortunately my local casino is a massive property with high rollers spending tens of thousands of dollars a hand. There are some players which they make millions of dollars off of a night, so they probably don't care that some low minimum jerk is beating them for pocket change.
