words cant explain how this song makes me feel - every time i hear it, i am brought back to being 17 on train rides in europe and reading camus
This album is probably one of the greatest albums of the new 21st century.
Great song and vid. Reminds me of my student days when the world still had possibilities.
One of the first songs I discovered from Belle and Sebastian. I knew instantly: I had found a better place.
Well said 😁
Wish I could write just ONE SONG this good. I could die happy, singing my one song, so good that others around me and my deathbed, would sing it too, all of us with smiles on our faces. Seriously, this is one great tune. Mr. Murdoch has the gift like no one else these days. John and Paul had it; so did Paul Simon, Joni, Cole Porter, a few others.
Such a perfect pop song, reminds me of those great songs from the mid 60's. Beautiful. You can listen to this song all day and focus on what each instrument including vocals, and find something new every time. Brilliant.
This is pop? How?
YES!!
Belle and Sebastian is so good it makes my fingers tingle :O
I miss that book shop! “Voltaire and Rousseau”. Used to hunt for cheap antique books whenever I went to Tchai Ovna tearooms next door while a poor student in Glasgow. Unbelievably, it is still there 20 years on and still owned by the same gentleman who doesn’t seem to age!
It's Caledonian book shop, it's a little gem in a nice part of Glasgow😊
Honest, kind, joyful, innocent. Touches my heart.
Wonderful, happy song ( rings tones of " in the country " cliff and shadows. ). You cant beat gorgeous girls who loves books.
i love the production on this album. hearing the occasional scrape of the guitar strings on the frets, for example, makes me hear the music as more organic than it might sound at first.
was just listening on headphones.
it's very dry compared to older stuff.
i dig it.
@@oinkooink The drums on many B&S often sound great, quite light.
@@oinkooink indeed! But the drums souns is (or was) lighter & less heavy thank on many many other bands records
Best band of the last 20 years. Sublime, cerebral, gorgeous melodies and a nice, unassuming bunch of chaps. What with Teenage Fanclub too, Scotland can give itself a hearty pat on the back.
This came up randomly on a playlist today & I realized this is the show I attended! What a great recording, it was a magical night
this song makes me want to wander around a library all day.
CALEDONIAN BOOKS!...2 blocks far from where i live.I love that bookshop.
Pure sweet pop happiness.
Very accomplished musicians who produce consistently good music.
I salute you B & S!

minha música preferida do Belle and Sebastian
Short haired girl is so beautiful.
Favorite.Song.Ever.
Are you still alive?
Great tune and I love this band
⭐️ Superb Songwriters 🌙
Those two girls...😍😍
Definitely not B&S' best track, but you have to love this perfect capture of the romance of small bookstores. This song smells like old bound paper!
What would you say is a better song?
You're gonna find me out in the country...
Belle and Sebastian is a Oasis in the pain desert of bad bands nowadays. Rarely we find something like them. 👏👏👏😍😍😍
I hope the Oasis you are referring to does not include the Gallagher Brothers.
1m views. Should be 1b ! Brilliant modest band. Perfect subtle harmonies. Great goofy indie video with beautiful people 🥰
AMO ESSA MÚSICA. ❤❤❤
Belle and Sebastian es esa banda que me da tranquilidad y me ayuda a ver la vida más llevadera.
What does the last word mean? I understand Spanish but I don't understand what it means
@@WTC7 I speak spanish and I don't even know how to explain you what it means. It's notvñ very offten word
@@WTC7 Hi! It means quite tolerable or passable
@@WTC7 That can be supported or tolerated.
Consummate musicians and song-writers. And I get to see them in Montana in August! Highlight of the summer!
belle and sebastian are the best.
It was pretty bright, up on the rainbow bridge tonight
I could see into your window although you're far away
You were racing in a car
Beside a boy, you just don't know if he is up for
What you have in mind
If he is up for what you have in mind
Change is on the cards, but this time it will be hard
But I never want to leave you
We've never had a fight
You should never split a pole
You should never split at all
I wish I had two paths that I could follow
I'd write the ending without any sorrow
I will say a prayer, just while you are sitting there
I will wrap my hands around you
I know it will be fine
We've got a fantasy affair
We didn't get wet, we didn't dare
Our aspirations, are wrapped up in books
Our inclinations are hidden in looks
Summer's hastening on
I'm trying to get a feeling from the city
But I've been unfaithful
I've been travelling abroad
We've got a fantasy affair
We didn't get wet, we didn't dare
Our aspirations, are wrapped up in books
Our inclinations are hidden in looks
Thanks 💙
I really love those who bother to write the lyrics on the comments for us all to enjoy
❤
I can't get over this song....beautiful =D
That guitar …so rad!
his voice makes me melt
Belle and sebastian is culture💚💛
that wink stole my heart
Your gonna find me out in the country….! Cliff would be proud.
This is a nice song, it's awesome.
such an incredible song.
Belle and Sebastian é um suspiro da melodia em tempos dificies para música no mundo... tempos esses que, dia após dia só vemos a música morrer...
ICONIC
who's gonna see them too in the Corona Capital Music Fest? Can't wait!!!!
what's more important in life? finding Belle & Sebastian or learning how to google?
Wow; I adore this song.
Bookworms Rejoice! this is your anthem! myself included...
love books
Mr Wonderful agenda brought me here! Nice recommendation
O que eu faço com essa música que música que exprime tudo de mais lindo que há?!
Best track on the whole album :D
I can honestly say that it's impossible to pick the best track. The entire album is magic.
Out in the country
Good sound
They said smart girls slay and this is why i love belle and sebastian
love this!
@Rorshach1004 thats beautifully put, in sad words..
Those harmonies...
The girl with the short black hair - one of the prettiest I've ever seen.
I love Stuart I do I do.
Hermoso!
you know you love it
i love this song!!!!
Does anyone know who the girl with long hair is?
gorgeous girls in this!
''In the Country'' by Cliff & The Shadows.
farfisa organ and twelve string electric = pop bliss.
lOVE
@andr123w Thanks! Yea it's looking like an Airline, couldn't find the exact model but you're right. They came THIS close to showing the headstock, it's like they were teasing us.lol
Nessa época tudo no TH-cam era mato.
absol love it
Let's be honest - a relatively shoddy video (bar the very VERY attractive short dark haired girl) but one of the most beautiful songs ever written and that's what counts.
Many
pop perfection
She's gorgeous...reminds me of Margaret Mary
100th rating :) 5 stars, obviously.
I believe something Eastwood/Supro-ish. The other one is a Rickenbacker. I've been looking around and the closest thing I found looked like a 59 Town & Country but it has a slightly different button arrangement.
@andr123w Sweet, thanks for the suggestion, buddy. I appreciate it.
yeah, 2:06 is the best bit! such a great band too, i might add
Opinion: one of the sexiest songs ever.
Correction: one of the sexiest videos. If you listen closely, the song is pretty bleak. It's about not having the courage to live what imagination can create. It is a harsh reality for many a thoughtful person. The character of Walter Mitty sums it up perfectly.
I love books, and this video is a celebration of books, both hardback and paperback. The one question I would ask is: Are the books presented to the camera real books?
the standout track from Dear Catastrophe Waitress IMO
High art.
What's name of a girl with short hair?
Just heard this on the radio..it s a wonder they didn t face a lawsuit from Cliff Richard tbh
@cheesebagel We should take those days back. Lets throw away the every day concerns and dive back into our books.
Anyone else about to go get all the books in this to read?
Bibliophiles where you !
Reminds me a bit of Hazy Jane II by Nick Drake.
are they still together|? i havent heard this track for an age, such a great band
@77stevek absolutely not! but I it just reminds me of the circumstances surrounding the exams, the over all mood, etc.
Stuart looks so sneaky with that hat on.
Like 'em
reminds me of us
this video needs more Sarah
@Rorshach1004 oh gosh...I feel the same way too...takes me back to my O and A Level days...senior high more appropriately. :D
@dirkbogarde44: If using I-IV-I or II-VII-I is considered "chord pilfering", then a lot of bands would be called thieves. But these are pretty common chord progressions.
@eggucun Im not sure but I think its an Eastwood guitar
cool :)
Oh good call.
Chorus is ''The Farmers Boys - In the Country''
I’ve been to the rainbow bridge he sings of
mine too
