About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

I remember being 9 years old when this song came on MTV in 1999. Me and my parents sat in the front room admiring this video. Mum says 'is there anyway we can watch this again? Its amazingly cute!'
That was impossible back then. I innocently explained that we'd just have to wait for MTV to play it again.
Here I am over twenty years later and 30 years old watching it easily and for free on youtube. Parents split up years ago, but these old memories linger. Funny how things change.
Great track.
Sorry to here about your parents. Music is great when it brings back good memories ☺️☺️
Sorry to hear about your parents..I was also 9 year old back in 1999 and had to wait for songs to play again. Although the "popular" songs were ridiculously overplayed..rather than these songs. Miss those Mtv days.

Now is so sad for me to watch this cute video. That's why: I remember I was 7 years old in 1999 and I watched this video on MTV so many times. Me and my sister were so impressive by it! Especially by the saddest moment at final scene when milks fly away together. And then our favourite family dog had been deadly poisoned by burglaries, he died after 4 days, my sister said me : "Now our good boy flies away like this milk". And I still miss him very bad. His name was Malysh ("Little boy" on Russian language). Havanese bichon by breed. And since that case i can't watch this music video without tears. Inspite of this, this is the best musiс video ever! I've always loved Graham's guitar solos in this. The song constantly walks a tightrope of some really dark stuff about alcoholism and the hope of defeating it. It feels like, behind the jangly rhythm guitars, the major chords (when they come), the twinkly keyboard, and the mantra of "we can start over again", the solos are the broken self he wants to leave behind and which never really disappear. I don't think it ever feels fully resolved which side is going to come out on top.
I must admit, that even though I am a full grown man, the end of this video makes me cry and i am not even ashamed
As a teenager learning guitar back then, The chords amazed me, how could they make such an unique chord progression

The guitar solo is so underrated.
Why do I feel so attached to an inanimate object? I really felt the trails and tribulations of the carton of milk as he was searching for Graham.

I know nobody will read this, but my personal interpretation of the lyrics of the song is that damon and graham talk together about their friendship in a innocent way. Because they sing together a lot in the song, and the lyrics say that they can't support the world in general and only need eachothers. Also the thing that really made me think that the song is about them, is the title : coffe and tv, reminds me that graham liked coffe and talked about it in his songs, and damon says in almost all of his songs that he watches TV. (The most obvious is in Dan Abnormal)
It's only my interpretation of it, maybe what i think is wrong but i like imagining the song this way because i love their platonic relationship that really reminds me of my frienship with my best friend
songs are meant to be interpreted differently, and your interpretation is cool
This song has a lot of sentimental value to me. It's a song I always go back to when things are looking down and I need a little relief, like things aren't going to be as bad as I've already decided they will be. It gives me a sense of: Can we just forget about life and float for a moment, feeling. I adore this song.
You can get relief by getting a woman in you life
