@@felixonrails Just wait until the Istanbul Airport gets connected to the line. The 3rd Bosphorus Bridge (a.k.a. Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge) has double track high speed rails on it. I'm not sure if the rails were actually built as the line has not been constructed yet, but a connection to YHT is planned, and both the bridge and airport were designed and built with that in mind. Thank you for the great content.

9:06 YHT is passed the airplane for Istanbul-Ankara because Both Istanbul Airports are outside of city. Esenboğa Airport is very outside of Ankara but Ankara YHT Station inside town center. Istanbul Bakırköy and Söğütlüçeşme YHT Stations are inside the town center.
That was the plan. It makes more sense. And less planes travelling between 2 largest cities of Turkey, means there are more slots for planes to different domestic destinations.
Trains look great. But its the small things that can make a big difference to a journey. Things like getting decent Internet connection, the entertainment screen working properly and food and drink service. I find problems with these kind of things happen a lot in Turkey. Once they improve these issues it will make a big difference to the image of Turkey as a modern nation with great and efficient infrastructure.
Fully agreed! I'm excited to experience the catering and meals in YHT once the measures against Coronavirus will be adapted. As for the entertainment screen - honestly I don't care that much about it - but working Internet, whether 4g or Wifi is a must!
Absolutely I prefer open seating, rather than a compartment. In this day and age even more than before the pandemic. Was in Poland and sitting in compartment as this was the only offering. People coughing, no maks, etc. I was sitting closest to the door and no way would I let it be closed. Six persons in a compartment is no way to travel comfortably
its very fun riding a high speed train with such a beautiful view. Unfortunately the majority of HSR views in Japan are covered by walls and tunnels btw what was the distance between ankara and eskisehir

Thanks for the comment! The journey is only about one hour and a half. The trains that only go from Ankara to Eskişehir are usually way less crowded than the trains between Ankara, Istanbul and Konya. Those are usually completely booked.
For Ankara to Eskişehir, the price is from 43.5 Lira(about 5 USD) in economy to 65.5 Lira (about 7 USD) in business class (seat rows or compartments don't make a difference). The price is fixed and doesn't change according to how much in advance you book it.
The seats are allocated through the normal booking system. If you don't book all of them (which you can), then it's possible that other seats will be booked by other passengers.
@@beyondthestars4299 Sorry I didn't get a notification on that comment. Unfortunately TCDD is very inconsistent with the use of HT80 rolling stock on the Ankara Istanbul line. They are mostly used between Ankara and Konya, just a few services on the other lines use Velaro stock.

it's an interesting documentary. Turkey has a very high potential for the further development of the infrastructure. Keep it up
Thank you! Yes, I agree - and most of the really new infrastructure is yet to come with the high-speed lines to Bursa, Izmir and Sivas.

I agree, especially sound barrier walls are really an impediment of the view. The distance is 245.5 km.

Thanx for the video! It appears that the train wasn't crowded at all... at least at Business Class. How long did the journey last?
Thanks for the comment!
The journey is only about one hour and a half. The trains that only go from Ankara to Eskişehir are usually way less crowded than the trains between Ankara, Istanbul and Konya. Those are usually completely booked.
I think it is not too big because there are a lot of projects it need to be so big for the future
you mean the main station in Ankara? Yes I agree, it's good to have it ready to increase services.
so in business class they have those compartments as well as open seatings?
exactly
Nothing is bette then japanese and chinese trains... They are sooo comfortable..
what is the price range from 2nd class and business class or business class compartment?
For Ankara to Eskişehir, the price is from 43.5 Lira(about 5 USD) in economy to 65.5 Lira (about 7 USD) in business class (seat rows or compartments don't make a difference). The price is fixed and doesn't change according to how much in advance you book it.
@@felixonrails thank you
6 euros for the business class on a gig spread train? Oh that’s a bargain
right? Surely, it's not the longest travel - but nevertheless the price is really affordable and competitive with for example intercity buses.
For business class cabin,is it by yourself or there are strangers with you?
The seats are allocated through the normal booking system. If you don't book all of them (which you can), then it's possible that other seats will be booked by other passengers.
