I agree with you about the look of the C6. I believe it's the best looking modern Corvette. They lost me on the c7 and c8 when they got rid of the round tail lights. I never warmed up to them and by now if I haven't I never will.
I love the C7 and C8 as well but for different reasons. I am a big fan of the C8 especially and like that one the most. I think the C6 is easily the most "handsome" car, and the last car to blend in so much design ques from Corvettes of old with a modern look.
I own a C7 and I agree lol. I also don’t like the black vinyl that “teardrops” off the edge of the taillights. However, I think the C7 has one of the best looking front ends out of the modern vettes. I even think the C8 is lacking some front end personality
@@Stuntshineyou’re so right, I’ve owned both, C6 base first, then I moved up to the C7 base model. It was nice for what I wanted it for except I never got half the compliments as I did with the C6. I think the C6 shares a lot with all past gens... and paved the way for the c7 sharper corners. It resembles a c2 and c3 to me in places... AND a C1 with the change to non-flip headlights, which were on the C1, some people forget.
I've taught several people how to drive stick, find a gravel road, less likely to stall and student doesn't get freaked and flustered. Bought my 2011 gs cyber Grey in 2017, I drive it everyday its not snowing.
What an awesome car. I have a super charged challenger and I am looking to add a vette to my garage. Looking for a C6 or C7. Your C6 is really nice...also you've motivated me to learn stick...
dope car. i have the 2008 C6 LS3. the first year LS3 was introduced in the Corvette... i bought it when it had 20k miles on and its been a year since i owned it. 🔥 im the 2nd owner as well.
Agree super nice car, also, have a 2012 GS CE edition 3 level, with two tops. Wheels tires are upgraded to 2012 ZR1 Cup w/red stripe ( greatly adds big tire look). The look of a CE Corvette stands out for me. Carbon flash paint color makes the car. The CE body trim additions finish the look. Was considering a C6 or 7 when purchased. C6 driver body space ( shoulder) was decision for me. Shoulders cramped against door in C7 not for me. These are my options.
Great car. I have a 2010 Grand Sport. I love the car but hate the seats. You said you don't have factory seats. What kind of seats do you have in it? Thanks!
Sick, Sick Vette! I'm new to learning about Corvettes. I'm on the fence about getting rid of the Harley and getting a C5, but your car is nice!! Can you make a video sharing your search and how you found it? i.e. Local or bought on-line and had it shipped
Absolutely. Its currently quite a bit lower than factory and could go lower still, but this is probably the most aggressive I can go while being a daily driver and not worry about rubbing.
Thanks for the walk around, In my 14 months of ownership I never knew there was a build plate on the engine. Do you auto cross? I was wondering how the coil overs work as compared to the stock leaf springs.
would you say the grand sport is more "worth it" over the z06? my dream has been the z06 because it's like the coolest and most unique car, all the aluminum and carbon fiber. but i just don't know if i'm ready to deal with an ls7. i also hate how much heavier the grand sport is than the z06 (although it makes sense). do you think that the grand sport is still light enough to be a pretty fast car? i currently have a 2017 5.0, so the horsepower is about the same, and my 435 hp feels absolutely slower than a miata.
Its hard to say, it was for me. I cant speak for everyone though. Yeah the GS is about 250lbs heavier than the Z. Mostly from the frame. Mine certainly feels faster than a miata. A lot of it is in the gearing and suspension too. Mustang is a lot heavier too. Test drive both if you can, It appeared to me that the GS was more catered to long term ownership where the Z was more of a summer/weekend fun car.
@@KOoKeDKiNgK1Lu yeah the z is definitely that "specialty" car, which is why i think i like it so much. my car is probably going to be more of a daily than anything, and i'm only 19 years old right now, i'm not really sure if i'm ready for the headache that an ls7 is. how do you like the 3lt interior? is it worth it over a 2lt? how does the car feel chassis/handling wise with the targa top? btw, the miata comparison was only an exaggeration haha. i appreciate your feedback!
Did you install the coilovers? Did you have to reprogram the car after? I watched a few videos on replacing the coilovers on youtube but still confused
Are you going to track it? I'm thinking about C6 GS or C7 Z51 in a couple years -- I figure the prices will be pretty similar. If you are going to daily drive it with occasional track day, would you stick with the C6 GS? Or do you ever think about bumping up to the next gen?
I would stick with the wide body C6 over a Z51 C7. I dont track it but do some canyon carving and my last outing I actually ran with a 19 Z51.
