I have a 2006 C6 with less than 8,000 miles on it, but a few years ago I had to have the harmonic balancer replaced because it was wobbling off-center, not only causing an annoying squeaking noise, but it actually began to rub against the aluminum casting at the front underside of the engine. Beware!!! I chose to have an upgraded racing balancer installed instead of going with the OEM part. I also had to do the zip-tie trick with the airbag electrical connector under the driver’s seat, and it permanently solved the problem. Another issue not mentioned here is the fact that the coupling where the rear view mirror locks into the windshield hub gets loose and wobbly over time because the 3 pins that help secure it are too soft and bend after a while. The 5/64” drill bit trick works to fix this; look it up on line or on TH-cam for a more complete description.
Very Accurate Information. My C6 has been in for Service active handling 31 times including the very next day I took delivery in 2005. This week my local Chevy Dealership gave up & said they no longer will help. They told me you probably need a new EBCM which GM no longer makes. And Chevrolet wants me to buy a New Eray? I can only imagine how they will help every few years when $7.500 Lithium-ion batteries replacements are needed. That is if the Car does not burn down home Garages. Yes- my Auto shifter was locked in park 3 years ago as well.
you forgot the infamous fuel sending unit and gas guage not working i have an 05 and im goin through this my mom has an 05 too and she barely drives it it has 20 thousank k on it and one day last summer she turned it on and her guage cluster didnt work at all and chevy know all about the harmonic balancer and fuel sending unit issues there are hate pages about it the forums but they wont do anything about it shame on them its really pathetic
I have a 2013 C-6 427 anniversary edition I just cleaned my car got in to start it and the “Service Active Handling System” and the “Service Traction Control System" came up. I disconnected the battery to try to reset the problem, no help. The car only has 2200 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.
Don't know if you ever got this fixed but I had the same issue. Took it to dealer and I had to have the the alternator re wired to the wiring harness. (Not a mechanic) but gm didn't make the the parts for the wiring harness anymore so the mechanic had to "build his own" haven't had a problem since.

Fuel sending unit failures from corroding contacts.
I have a 2005 c6 and my car turns off while driving. I have no check engine codes. cleaned throttle body. Alternator and battery tested good also my starter . Anyone know the issue ?
Check the fuel pump relay, the relay may be burnt out and check the pin that it plugs into as well because that may be the reason it's burt out.
Could be the crankshaft sensor also..
The CA emission control gadgets are also prone to failure I have found out.

I cut the pin off with wire cutters no more problem or worries about being stuck
