When it comes to ancient Athens, most people have the idea that the Athenians were "soft, intellectuals, philosophers & artists", when in reality Athenians were often battle hardened citizen soldiers. Famous philosopher Socrates, for example, was a distinguished veteran of the Peloponnesian War. They defeated the Persians on their own at Marathon & Salamis and fought the Spartans for 30 years, only losing the Peloponnesian War, after Athenian general Alcibiades defected to Sparta and pretty much gave them all of Athens´ military secrets & the Spartans took out a huge loan ( from the Persians of all people) in order to build a navy that could take on the Athenian fleet. And at the same time, they invented democracy, philosophy, theater, cultivated sciences like math & geometry and build impressive monuments.
Actually citizenship was given to a large number of Thracians and other non Athenians and the law put in place by Pericles that said that both parents had to be Athenian in order for someone to become a citizen was canceled rather fast. Also let's not forget that quite a few Athenian figures were only half Athenian (Kimon, Demosthenes, etc.). Also Metikoi could also gain Athenian citizenship by joining the army (in some occasions even slaves were granted citizenship after taking part in defending the city). Lastly Pesistratus granted citizenship to anyone who wished to come and work in Athens during his reign.
That's an incredibly common myth, but that's still what it is. A myth. The introduction and spread of Christianity was like any other massive change, it left some parts of the prior order behind and embraced others. Claiming otherwise is like trying to say that the introduction of the Greek Pantheon was highly destructive to ancestor and nature worship in the region. It's a highly one-sided view.
@@leartiberius1098 so the Roman Catholic didn’t go around killing everyone who didn’t believe Christian? That seems pretty destructive to me. Also a lot of people killed in the name of god specifically the Christian god and everyone who didn’t believe such were demonized and still are being demonized to this day.

Today you walk in omonia or vathis square and is like Islamabad !!!! 400 years of Mongloalian(ottoman barabarian ) occupation was enough to destroy the glorious city….
The 1st vote the Athenians ever had, the women won. When this socalled "great period", only males had a say in society. Isn't that a sign of devolution?
You must be joking, right? Every single video? We have a team of artists, we post videos with original comics almost daily. Take a look at our channel and see the video credits.
@@SeeUinHistory you're right and don't worry . Even with the AI (if you decide to use it) there aren't many who can outperform your channel . It was and is one of the best and my personal favourite mythology channel on TH-cam . I have recommended your channel to a lot of people on several occasions . So keep doing the great work . But just a small suggestion from my side , as to try to use human voices in the video as AI makes it of a dry tone ; other than the voice , using AI will be perfectly fine ig .
@@kshitishp3662 Thanks for your comment! Sometimes the comments section gets under my skin. And comments like yours really help me stay motivated. 😊 We actually never use AI for narration, all our videos have human voice over. We've had, if I'm not mistaken, only 5 narrators with our channel so far, and in some of the videos they do use a more professional tone, a little dry, as you said. We'll try to work on it! 😉

What I’m learning from history is at some point Christianity comes along and screws everything up because people get fanatical about it
Religion ☕

All modern religions are bad and we all know it, except from true Christianity, which teaches love and peace. Everything else is rotted to the core.
loving Poseidon 💜💜💜💜💜👐
Very superficial. If you're not talking Egypt in early Greek history, you're talking fluff.

He is wrong. This video has some AI, but common guys, just look at your channel page. This was such an unfair statement.
