    Same for me.. Took Thyroid meds over 15 yrs.. changed to a Plant-based low to no oil/ fat for digestive issues, couldn’t even tolerate my T meds so stopped taking them... (Doctors/Specialists, multiple tests, etc. & Meds couldn’t resolve). 5-6 months into my new diet/lifestyle... I was eating again, Bloodwork was improving along with Excellent Thyroid Function... Been off all Meds over 5 yrs❤️❤️😊😊.

      Also who those are facing issues with High TSH and low T3 and T4,
      Follow a routine where you give sometime to pranayam and yoga. It really really really helps...
      Do pranayam like UJJAYI ( the most important) and KAPALBHATI..
      Secondly, Take 100 gm of pomegranate daily and 2 walnuts daily...

      basically go vegan and meditate. it was a podcast anyway, podcasts are to strengthen your intuition and broaden your list of research for yourself. she is indeed vegan, and you can see her attitude and the way she talks about the body and how it interacts with different eating habits. if you investigate like.... plant based dieting, the benifits of water and what not, you'll have a good base to work on.
      If i may.... youtube videos that are great for the same exact subject with a few more testimonies that explain better than she did are like Food Choice, (I can't really get offa here to look up the others, but they're are related documentaries and videos on longevity, strong health, and dieting. like just look through the related content of Food Choice, (you'll like that video/doc. and the reference it contains) 💚 basically go vegan tho... lol don't cringe, just go look

      @eveastardust3747 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Yeah that was a big fail with this podcast. I follow PCRM so i have an idea how she's eating. Whole foods, plant-based, staying away from extracted oils and fats, a little naturally occurring fats in flax avocado, no sugar, low salt. Lots of cruciferous vegetables, a little fruit.

    • @eveastardust3747
      @eveastardust3747 3 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      @@migdaliarivera9421 People can definitely do an unhealthy form of plant-based vegan. You can be a vegan and eat high sugar, low fiber, high fat... I know because I did it for years and my health only improved a little from being an omnivore. The key is to go back to the source, legumes, veggies, no extracted oils or sugars, whole grains in darker colors...

    I did not get one bit of valuable information from the 15 minutes of this woman talking in circles.
    I was recently diagnosed with Graves Disease, hyperactive thyroid. I have always been skinny, so when I started to loose weight, I went into panic mode and decided to see a doctor. I found out my cholesterol was high, my blood pressure was high, my heart was beating out of my chest. Thanks for a very sharp thinking doctor who zeroed in on what could be causing the high blood pressure all the other problems. In a very short time I had my thyroid tested. The weight loss is one of the symptoms of hyperactive thyroid. I am constantly hungry, and no matter what I eat, I kept loosing weight. I have been on medication for the past three months, and I am starting to feel better. I am 70 yrs weighs 105lbs and I am eating my way towards my goal to gain a few more pounds. Weight loss without out dieting could be thyroid issues.

    Wish she’d gone into more detail about her diet and specifics of the food she changed to that helped her regain her health. There are just too many food theories and what to eat and NOT eat….it’s all confusing and contradictory too. What people don’t realize is that food is addictive, especially sugar. By the time you realize it your already hooked. So now it’s about breaking all the physical food addictions and emotional addictions to 🍱 food. More SPECIFIC information would have been so helpful !

      Eliminate simple carbs and certain night shade vegetables such as bell peppers and eggplant. I also eliminated tomatoes which aggravate any arthritic conditions. I cut out bread, pasta, rice, sugar, gluten. I suffered with really bad joint pain. Once I stopped eating cake, cookies, pancakes, waffles, bread, pasta and basically any processed foods (the WORST), my hypothyroidism started to reverse and improve. I no longer had Hashimoto Thyroiditis. I’m still on Levothyroxin, but the mcgs I have been on are decreasing in potency. I went from .175 mcg down to .125 mcg. Diet is key. Intermittent fasting and keto is key. Non dairy diet is key. Being patient, steadfast and disciplined is key. Do I every once in a while sneak something like a cookie or a piece of chocolate? Yeah but I don’t have the sugar cravings I use to have. You can do it. Slowly wean yourself off of the bad foods. You’ll see an improvement. God bless.

    I was diagnosed with hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue, pre diabetic several years ago and went total organic cutting out all oil, meats, fats etc. Was miserable, didn't lose weight and still was dealing with high anxiety. I finally went to a functional doctor who put me on keto and supplemented with BHRT. I went thru a detox doing Keto but Within 3 months I had lost 25 lbs all my hormone numbers were in the normal range, I had high energy which before keto I was in bed most days, had horrible anxiety, all over pain which now all gone. Everyone is different, what worked for her did not work for me only made my symptoms worse. Im not sure what she was on because she didn't discuss her diet, in fact I thought the interview was also a waste of my time. I wish you all the best. Find a nutritionist or doctor that is open to a method that works for you.

You could gamble, drink, smoke, drug it up, or skirt the law all you want, but don't you dare be fat like I was. I recently saw two of my cousins after 20 years and both of them are weed-smoking alcoholics who live on wings and pizza just like they did as kids. My health changed big time when i went vegan over nine 1/2 years ago for ethical reasons. I had stopped eating meat at 50 and stopped eating dairy and eggs at fifty seven. When i was a vegetarian my health was improved a little bit but when i went vegan WOW the difference to my health was amazing. I eat a well balanced plant based diet and hardly ever get colds which never last long. The Asthma and IBS which i had suffered with for over twenty five years cleared up within a few short weeks. I have the energy now which was lacking before, and the Arthritis i had in my fifties in my knee and hands have not gotten any worse and if anything have got better. I am 5` tall and weigh 7 1/2 stones which is the ideal weight for my size and age which is 66. I feel that i was rewarded with the best health iv ever had when i stopped paying for and supporting the meat dairy and egg industries. I can highly recommend a plant based diet for all ages and stages through out life. I did my research on what our bodies need regarding the essential plant foods to function properly. This woman`s story of how she changed her life and why is inspirational.

    I was prescribed synthroid at age 27 while active duty in the Navy. It was caught because of my escalating cholesterol, but otherwise pretty fit. I was always skeptical of the diagnosis and learned that it is usually not seen at this young age. I also learned this is a thyroid 'replacement' drug and if you replace the purpose of the thyroid function, it will ultimately stop doing what it was meant to. Every doctor since then has never attempted to try and lower my medication or give me any advice on how to do so, they just said lets see what happens basically. I've ended up taking it upon myself to find nutrition education from Barnard/Greger and others, have gone fully vegan and still working on lowering my meds.

      Thanks Michelle! I re- listened to this video, and I heard her method this time. Ooops 😂
      I tried a healthy version of Keto, and I lost weight really easily. But, although I followed the recommendations for vitamins and diet exactly, I ended up in an adrenaline state with constant heart palpitations and racing heart, so I stopped it. Now, I still follow low carb, but I do eat some fruit, veggies, grass fed, organic beef, chicken, eggs, and a little fish, and a little bit of rice and corn all organic. It’s been easy, and I’m losing weight just not as fast as keto. But I feel a lot better. And this time I eliminated any added sugar, dairy, and wheat to try and heal my thyroid. I did try a plant based diet and very low fat 20 years ago after open heart surgery, but all of my cardiac genetic risk factors got worse. And, I felt awful plus I became anemic, and my hair fell out.
      Anyway, I think we are all individual, so what works for someone might not work for someone else. I tried being a vegetarian for years because of my feelings for animals, but I always ended up anemic and weak. Genetically we are all different, so what works for 1 person doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. It’s definitely a personal journey of trial and error. Thanks again and Take care 😉

      She is not talking about the Macrobiotic diet. The macrobiotic diet is a japanese diet based only on brown rice, vegetables, seaweed, tofu, and soy sauce, essentially. A small amount of fish, also, but usually not if one is seriously ill. In this video, Jeanne Schuhmacher is very clear that she is talking about veganism. Veganism is based on eating vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. Meat, fish, and dairy products are not included in the vegan diet.

      @@mzsista2728 Hi my lovely I'm so sorry that I didn't get back to you, but I really hope you read this. The best diet book I had was the Gillian McKeith diet book, make sure you get the one with the recipes, but be careful as there as some people who have copied her cover and it's not what it says it is. The Gillian McKeith Diet book is so informative that it literally changed my life. I lost the urge to eat cake biscuits and chocolate. It is an expensive diet but it is the best thing. Also, you don't have to have the meat and fish but I am a strong believer that if you radically change your diet you are most likely not to stick to it. so slowly introduce those foods into your diet. Also, try to add as many raw foods into your diet as well as plant-based foods. Check out Jordan Kordivich and Jason Vale. JK does the best veg smoothies and he really makes you understand the dynamics of juicing the vegs, JV is the king of smoothies, especially the fruit and veg, his smoothies are the best. You should at least be having one veg smoothie and one thick smoothie a day, but they are all preaching the same thing. Gillian McKeith is the best place to start as she really educates you. One thing for sure my lovely don't go and buy anyone else's books, everything is available on YT. The Gillian Mckeith book is really really cheap now, when I got it, it was really expensive, but it's worth buying all of her books. I will link her books and also JKs YT and JV's YT channel. I'm finding with Hashimotos thyroid and other issues that after the detox period I could slowly introduce better options for some things...like... organic, free range chicken, grass-fed beef, organic non-gmo vegies and A2 milk products instead of the A1/2 factory milk and cheeses out there. A2 has the proper proteins and enzymes for digesting the dairy, I eat free range eggs, wild game (deer, turkey, local fresh-caught fish, duck, pheasant, quail, etc). Still can't eat tomatoes or corn or soy though.

      Best solution would be to look into Ayurveda, esp. Ayurvedic Nutrition and Lifestyle recommendations; it addresses your unique bioindividuality and you’ll walk away empowered with what to feed yourself based on your specific bioindividuality, and in depth understanding of food as medicine specifically suited to meet your needs, as well as empowered with the knowledge, know-how, confidence and ease of supportive lifestyle changes. Ayurveda is known to be a tremendously catalytic pathway to achieving optimal health, weight, energy, vitality, immunity, hormonal regulation, balanced state of being, quality and dignity of life, sustenance and longevity.
      You’ll also do best to avoid gluten/wheat, dairy, nightshades and cruciferous foods.

    I was recently diagnosed with thyroid problem and I went for a vegan low carb diet for 2 weeks straight, felt really good - my muscle, back, and joint pain and acid reflux were gone, slept really well at night. And then one day i decided to eat meat and carbs in small portion (udon noodles, beef burito, fries), that night I didnt sleep well, it’s the third day now im still feeling unwell, i couldnt sleep at night, my body ache and acid reflux is back.

    Wow I went through something like that in the hospital for a week with all my organs shutting down and they figured out after a week it was my thyroid and that was only after a housekeeper, (an angel)came in the middle of the night and prayed for me. I did heal well enough to get out but hashimoto's has been a burden to say the least for 15 years. Thank you for your story! God bless you
