It seems this is the ONLY video on TH-cam with the otterbox lumen and black titanium phone for 16 pro max... any chance you can do another video taking a closer look at camera control button and the case in general in different lighting's? I cant tell if this case is sparkly at all which I dont want in certain lights
So the case is sparkly, but only on the black mag safe outline (lollipop). Hardly noticeable. It's more of a gradient edge on the outline - I really like it, but I can only see it when I look very very closely. Most people will not know it's sparkly at all. I'll make a follow-up video on the camera button, I'll update here soon.
@@loganvossx Thanks! Finally got my order updated for my phone, dont have it yet lol and this Lumen case is coming on Friday. Got same color as you for phone and case
You have to light press to get zoom function, and double light press to get more options. Can you confirm these features work fine with this case? is it as good as without the case?
Yes, as shown in this video, the camera button functionality is identical with and without the case. Of course there's an added layer with the plastic, but it still works the same as it would without the case. I haven't ran into any issues using the camera button with this case.
Blue was my original choice when I was considering the White Titanium iPhone, but then I switched to Black and decided to match it with the case. Hope the "blue" grows on ya!
I really messed up the application process for the Belkin Ultraglass Screen Protector. Like, major flop. I peeled the dust sticker too early because the text instructions weren't clear - I should've watched the video provided with the QR code on the packaging. I ended up taking the screen protector on and off 3-4 times to remove dust/air bubbles, and while the final result is alright, it's not perfect. The edges are clearly air bubbled, but the OtterBox case makes it hardly noticeable. I think I'll use this screen protector for a few months then swap it, honestly, anything is better than nothing, as long as screen viewing is not impaired.
I've encountered this issue before. The bubbles on the edges of your screen protector might be due to the protector being the same size or slightly larger than the case's cutout. When you put the case on, it pushes the protector, causing bubbles. This means the products are incompatible. Try a different brand of screen protector. Also, the iPhone 16 Pro max has narrow bezels, and I noticed the edges of this case are thick. Does it block part of the screen? Thank you.
Unfortunately I believe the screen protector isn't 100% secured to the screen, which is what's causing the air bubbles around the edges. While removing the case does help for pushing them out, they always return. I'll need to get a new screen protector soon, but for the moment, its better to have this one than none at all. I hardly notice the bubbles while the screen is on, I only really see them when the screen is off. This case does not block part of the screen, but it will cover the titanium bezel of the device. So if you're thinking of getting a color like desert, white, or natural, be aware that you won't see the gold/silver bezel when this case is being used. You're likely to run into this no matter what case you buy - the only way to keep the bezel showing is to go nude.
@@iamsolFur I will likely purchase the same screen protector when I need a new one. Next time, I think I'll pay the extra fee for Apple to install it. They have a special machine at the retail store that ensures installation is flawless.
Nice review! Looks like the case works well with the camera control, the lagging is still there without case, good test! I guess we just have to zoom SLOWer lol thanks for the review of this case, getting mines soon in black!
Yeah, I'm glad I tried it with and without the case because I was worried it was a case issue lol. Turns out, I just don't know how to use the button. Some good tips from @Xerpocalypse_ below, gonna play with it a bit and see if I can make it more intuitive. Good choice on the case, you're gonna love it!
Like you video and very happy to hear the case doesn't impede the camera button. Wher is the link for the installation of the screen protector???? Thanks again!
Hello! Thanks for the overview of this case. i'm looking forward to getting this one since the Supcase camera control is more finicky than this. The Camera button requires a half-press to activate in the app so that it doesn't get triggered by mistake. Once you half-press it and feel the 'bump' from the phone's taptic motor, the UI will show up and you'll be able to swipe around. There's also a visual effect when you successfully half-press the button. Once it's open, double half-pressing will open the menu to let you switch modes. A full press takes a photo.
Thanks for the tips! I haven't played around with it too much, but now that I know what to do, I'll give it another go. It feels a little gimmicky to me right now, hoping that changes moving forward. How do you feel about the new button?
@@loganvossx I like being able to launch the camera with a mostly-flush button while keeping the action button for other things! The controls are pretty intuitive for me having used it a bit, but I wish it was possible to choose which/where adjustments are in the menu itself. I think lens select or exposure adjustment are my favorites right now, but I'm looking forward to being able to focus+reframe using a half-press which is supposedly coming later. There are also some options in iOS settings you might want to play with: Camera: - Toggling "Clean View" off keeps all the other camera UI elements open while using Camera Control. Makes it feel a bit less gimmicky since other controls are still visible, but I wish it stayed open for a bit when you interact with other controls rather than closing. - The ability to launch another camera app like Halide or Instagram using the button Accessibility > Camera Control: - Half-press sensitivity Lighter or Firmer depending on preference - "Show Adjustments" being off basically makes it only a dedicated shutter button but that does defeat the haptic/capacitive control
No it feels great. I came from the 11 Pro Max, and the dimensions are nearly identical. I think this device adds a few millimeters in length, but overall, very similar size to the 11 Pro Max, just smaller bevels. Originally I was considering downsizing from the Pro Max to the Pro, but after playing around with the 15 Pro Max, I decided its best to stay with the larger screen. The Pro felt squished to me, while the Max felt normal. Hope this helps!
@@sinan247 I literally pulled the dust sticker removal tab before putting it near my phone, the instructions weren't clear so I thought it was the first step, but it was not. Theres really not any noticeable dust beneath the glass, I removed most of it with another sticker.

I found that the Spiegen screen protectors are the best. Comes with (2) for under $20 and has the guide included as well.
I'll take a look! Thanks for the recommendation.
I ordered the "blue" one for this Otterbox Lumen case for iPhone 16 Pro Max, but it seems more like purple to me

If so, it looks pretty bad - what are your thoughts on that protector?

If there is a lot of dust around then put on a new one in the bathroom. Make it steamed up a little first. That will settle all the dust. Works.
