realistically both are useful if ur budget is low go for hdd it's more than fast enough for storage alone, if ur directly running anything off an external drive or doing traffic intensive tasks then shelf a bit of storage and grab an ssd but neither is bad or good

when you need long lasting data keeper: HDD
but hard disk drives can be written to an unlimited amount of times while solid state drives can only be written to a limited amount of times
