So many hire boats down that way.. it's like a literal motorway thro the summer. I live just 3 locks down from that pub

Could I please ask what's probably a stupid question? But one which goes through my mind every time I see a commercial narrow boat. What would be the max load capacity of your craft and does it vary with different stretches of canals (draft) PS Love ❤️ your channel keep the videos coming 😀

you see a small woolwich and a large woolwich both loaded with approx 18 tons, a Large woolwich boat had 9 inch more hull side which can be seen here by the amount of free board. although in this video they are on a river so don't struggle for depth of water you wouldn't want anymore on to navigate todays network and would still struggle in certain bridge holes and shallower canals. You could load another 10 tons ish on the Large woolwich but you wouldn't get anywhere on todays canals i'm afraid. Hope this makes sense, thanks for commenting.
