Hey guys just FYI this was just based on my experience I would print out vehicle code 25400 and 24003 and keep them in your car, 25400 states its legal and 24003 insures its illegal to have interior lighting only and most cops write you a ticket for the wrong light code, keep them both in your car and if you get pulled over show them those codes or fight it in court, hope this helps you guys out :)
AJ. You know not having a license at the front of your car is illegal at CA.
Passenger vehicles display 2 license plates:
1 plate on the front of the car.
AND
1 plate on the back of the car.
Other vehicles, such as motorcycles, usually have only 1 license plate

Here's the thing. Even if you think it's not illegal and you are in full compliance with the law all it takes is one crazy cop to see it and pull you over and start tripping. That's what's screwed up about this country.
But like you said if you're in full compliance with the law and it's not illegal who cares about a cop tripping. They're not above the law, they simply enforce it
And they will. Just because you are "different". They may just give you a ticket for kicks. The younger you are, the more likely city cops will ticket you.
I got pulled over for running Green underglow. I showed the officer the California Vehicle Code stating it was legal and he took that as an insult and said "Well if you wanna act like a lawyer then go fight this in court" and still gave me the ticket.

We also highly recommend avoiding blue, red and green colors on any aftermarket lights including underbody glow, as these colors are typically used on emergency vehicles.
In case your underglow system emits more than the allowed 0,05 candela/square inch, permitted colors are white and amber in the front, and red in the rear of your vehicle. Review your street glow lights package carefully, and if possible have the original packaging in your car as additional proof if required.
@@geezaz7398 California VC 25400. Says its totally legal as long as its not red in the front. I asked a cop if it was legal and he said if its green or any other color than red or blue thats totally fine but others say its illegal no matter what color. I think its just confusion because its not a common thing on cars and it seems like something that could be illegal, to some officers.
Why does it matter if you use the colors that emergency vehicles use? Are people really that stupid that they will actually think a normal civilians car is an emergency vehicle? Sounds like just another excuse to give you a ticket.

I don't know you but if a def person see a red light coming out of a street the first thing that person will do is go to the side. Also, there are morons who would use the red and blue to fuck with people.

I have red underglow and live in Cali in my matte black celica and gotten a ticket for it, underglow is dope as shit but just make sure it can change colors to make it Legal and not have solid red like I did haha..... Great Vid man cool to see more underglow fellows here in Cali

In Cali, as of now, red is only illegal when its at the front
one additional thing to add to his points: in many states, the lighting has to be diffused in order to be legal (meaning, the actual bulb itself cannot be seen while illuminated, just the glow effect from the bulb should be visible in the ground). Red and blue are illegal pretty much everywhere for obvious reasons but white is legal in several states. Check your states law to make sure, theres a section for neons.

In Indiana its red, blue, and Amber. Colors vary by state. It can all be found on the BMV website
You know the other day I went to my local community college for freshmen matriculation and saw AJs BRZ but I didn't know who he was at the time. It's really cool that he goes where I'm gonna go next year

@@AJsBRZ i have a question i got pulled over today for having underglow blue lights... they said its illegal 🚫 in California to drive but not illegal while parked so can i run green or purple while driving in California i live in Wilmington CA and they let me go with no ticket and said the others officers might give me a ticket and what code can I show them thanks👍

I'm late to the party lol, thanks for posting man, really helps me out. Been running blue on only the sides (no front and back just to avoid that hassle all together) of my s10 for the passed year and a half and just put a kit on my 04 330ci. I run green for Christmas, but heads up to all, Alameda California didn't approve :(, but CHP saw them and said cool :). And wicked car dude!!! I'm jealous
good to know that using it on the sides is cool, front and back look weird to me, i wanted to put it on the sides only but i was worried that it would make me look like a fool xD

For those seeing this in 2020, you CAN run Red/White/Blue as long as it's not visible from the FRONT of the vehicle. The lights still cannot be flashing/strobing/breathing/fading in & out, etc. The lights also cannot be within 12 inches of your operating lights (Headlights, Tail Lights, Turn Signals, etc.).

you have everything else right about red and blue. only amber and white allowed if there aren’t certain restrictions in your state. but never red and blue
I drove with mine on green but the cops still stopped me and told me it’s illegal.

In Oregon it states no red visible from front, and no blue. No flashing. What I’m curious about is the breathing effect. Where it stays one color, but gets brighter and darker at a slow speed. Not flashing, but I’d be curious to hear what law enforcement says about that effect.
EVERYONE, sorry but the video information is a little diffrent in CALIFORNIA. He is right about the military base but u can run red white or blue. Only thing is red can not be shown on the front or back. Otherwise everything else it correct KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

Here in Arkansas you can’t run under glow in public roads. You also can’t have any red blue or green lights
Vehicle code 25400 clearly states the color red cannot be ran at the front of the vehicle but any other colors are considered to be legal. As for not being able to run any of the colors on the American flag, I believe that's just the generally run of thumb for avoiding confrontation with law enforcement personnel completely. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

It is Legal in Quebec and Ontario(Canada)also, I don't know about the rest of the provinces. It is even given as an example of a legal lighting modification on a vh. Here you can have even red, blue, but not flashing red or blue lights. Is it legal in every state in the US, or it depends on the state?

I got front window tint which is definitely illegal here in South Los Angeles and also I've done all the above and haven't been bumped yet "pulled over" lucky me I guess 🤷🏽♂️. Blinking blue. Solid red and blinking white, many times! Cops right on the side of me and wasn't sure of the technicalities till now 🤦♂️ now imma be looking over my shoulder with remote in hand definitely! But that's for the vid 💯 it really helped and probably saved me from a ticket. One question tho.... Is it a fix it ticket meaning I would have to take my lights off?
I ran neons on my Focus at Fort Benning back in 07-08 and it was not an issue.

I have a green H2 Hummer I was running my green lights, the officer gave me a fix-it ticket, initially he asked if the car was mine. I looked at him and replied, ''excuse me''! He then requested license registration and insurance and yes I had them. He then asked my to sign it and drive safe. Note there was no violation type code on this ticket he asked me to have another officer sign off on it before May 30, 2019. I'm still unsure?

I run solid white in AZ. Cops have told me that it is okay and I've never had any issues.

You can use red, just not in the font of your car. If it is on the sides it is perfectly fine.

I think if your ride is parked say at a cars and coffee event or car show it's most likely ok to have strobing and flashing lights there's not really a problem using white color just don't use that color while driving
