Amazingly done!! Precise and to the point. I have my M2 road test this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to take my M road test by April 2023. Thank you for the video again!!
I sent this to a friend who watched this before his test and he passed. He was glad he watched it because there were a few things he didn’t know about. Thank you
According to instructions here I waited until the on-ramp line turned from yellow to white. This ramp had an extended yellow for some reason so I was still going ramp speed until it turned white. By then examiner thought I was not going to accelerate and failed me. Lesson learned, do NOT wait for white to start accelerating, do it as soon as the curve becomes straight.
I took the M last week. I had this question in my mind so I asked the instructor/tester if we have to follow the ramp speed for the entire yellow track. 1. She mentioned the ramp speed didn't mean the maximum speed for the section. It meant safe speed for the section. 2. You can accelerate on the yellow section according to your comfort and confidence level 3. Blinkers/left signal should be on just before the yellow track changed to the white track 4. gauge the highway speed and merge once you are at the highway speed at that point as traffic speed is different during rush/off hours.
I just passed my m2 exit. Watched this video at least three times last night and once just before my test. Head on a swivel, check your mirrors! Thanks for the great video, really helped my prepare. Thanks.
Your video helped and I passed! The only additional thing I was told was if I was on a two lane highway/road, keep to the right lane by default unless told otherwise. Thanks again for the video!
Just back from my M2 exit test on Walkley and passed with flying colours, thanks to this detailed video 🙏🏽 . Really helped me polish up on finer points they’d be looking for. Slight variation in route, we left the centre headed west on Walkley, left onto airport parkway, right on hunt club, right on Paul Anka, then left on McCarthy, right on Walkley, return to test centre…passed! Suggestions to me were, 1) look left-right -left…2) pump rear brake to indicate you’re slowing, and 3) merge faster on highway after indicating…all of which I thought I was doing, but he was not going to give me 100 % lol. Good luck to others taking the test….practice…practice…practice! And thanks again bro!

Thank you for this! Even tho I've gotten lot of practice and went from Toronto to Montreal (backroads), and Montreal to Toronto (highway), I still get butterflies being under a microscope. This put me at ease. I will be doing the test this summer :)
Great video and very helpful information! My only question is what if you pass through an intersection and it turns amber at the point where you cannot safely stop and the examiner behind has to stop. Do you pull over when safe and wait for the examiner?
Great video man - thanks! Question - my understanding is that blocking position when turning/riding was a best practice for safety - not an actual thing you are tested for. Is that the case?
You weren't asked to perform the obstacle track in back of the facility? I was told that you have to redo the M1Exit test before going out on the road/highway.
Thanks for the great video. Gojng for my M test soon! Is it true one should not shift gears while crossing an intersection? I have a 200 cc and in a big intersection the engine would be screaming in first gear!!
Thank you for your helpful information. I have 1 question here: do you wear any video recording device or live camera on your helmet? How the instructor knows where you are and how you handle with current situations on the road? And 1 small question: i have 110CC bikes, just for going inside the city, won’t go out of town, is the highway driving is mandatory? My bike max speed is only 80-90km/h, can’t get to 100km/h as highway 401 speed.
Hi I am booking M and will be taking classes shortly. I took M2 through a driving school. I am wondering how will M be assessed by the examiner. Are they going to follow me or how will the instructions be provided to turn and change lanes. Thank you 😊
Can someone confirm the fourways when stopped on street? First time I'm hearing about it... going for my M as soon as testing season opens. Great video BTW.
Maybe he meant that you will be asked to do an emergency stop? Which requires your 4ways. I've never heard of anyone using that just to stop on the side of the road.

How picky are they about leaning vs. counterleaning whike cornering at speed? I rode both sport and cruiser style bikes (will be using a cruiser for the M2 exit test) and i lean with the bike whike riding sport but counterlean as its more efficient on heavier cruisers, was just wondering if they seem to look down on counterleaning at speed? Even though it allows you more stability if you need to make an emergency stop and allows you to see further through the corner you are taking, so its debatably the safee way of cornering on a bike....at least a cruiser that is
Going to be doing this in the next few weeks probably thru learning curves somewhere in the GTA. Got a fairly noisy M4 Clone exhaust on my FZ07, I normally ride with very tight ear buds, for protectiong from wind, exhaust and listening to music. Do you think the exhaust will be too loud for the 2-way communication during the test?
I literally just got back from Drivetest and passed, got my full M now 😁 as for communication, I have a MGP growler exhaust on my 300. It’s stupid loud but I could still hear the examiner loud and clear, it helps that he repeats the instructions twice. And if you don’t hear what he said, you have to tap the top of your helmet and he’ll repeat it. Good luck!!
Why cruise at hwy speed in 3rd gear 10k rpm? Then pull in clutch on the off ramp instead of using a bit of engine braking combined with brakes? Is this how you normally ride or just doing this during the test?
I do not agree with MTO"S insistence on a ' 3' point stop. ie 1 foot on the rear brake at a full stop. I put both feet down for stability and use my front brake to a) keep my brake light on and b) to maintain a full stop. This makes me ready for any unforeseen action were by I might need to move suddenly. Like all seasoned riders I do not use all 4 fingers on the front brake lever. this gives me the ability to blip the throttle to match revs for down shifting as well as full two hand control of the bars at all times. Even with my older bike with a fully mechanical front brake all four fingers are not required to apply full braking pressure to the front wheel. I say this as a seasoned rider (50+ accident free years and thousands of incident free miles of riding.
Do you need to leave enough car length when turning left or right in order for the examiner to be able to follow you? Or can you just turn when it’s safe? What if the examiner gets cut off and loses sight of you? Do you have to wait somewhere for them?
Do you have to exaggerate your head movements specifically for "checking your mirrors every 8 seconds" or is it only necessary to demonstrate to the evaluator that you are checking your blindspots when changing lanes, slowing to a parked stop?
Thank you. Quick question do you need to completely turn your head for blind spot check when merging onto highway / switching lanes? Just asking because it didn't look like you looked over your shoulder on the turns so I'm a little confused but maybe the go pro just didn't pick it up.
Yeah, my inspector put a green sticker on the back of my helmet, so they can easier see the head movements, you absolutely need to do blind spot check every turn, every merge.

@@NYDStories ahh! I tried haha.
I personally feel motorbikes should not be allowed on highways, it is far too dangerous, i don't think id ever want to go on a high way and rather use the inroads to get between cities, i mean with jokers like this guy 10:10 if that was on a highway it'd be hell.
very helpful video, many thanks!
Thank you 😊
