Its shame that Vir Das doesnt know what happened in 1971 war. The war was fought between pakistan and India, pakistan was loosing so it asked for help from its friend usa and usa along with uk immediately sent warships without thinking even once for indian side and guess what Russia saved india by sending a fucking nuclear submarine in indian ocean due to which usa and its dog uk got scared and ran away. many times russia used veto for supporting india in kashmir issue and it provides weapons to counter china. So, USA have to prove that it has changed by supporting india on many different fronts like foreign policies, helping india make the weapons, supporting indian businesses etc. But again its shame that Vir Das doesnt know this which every indian knows
Even if he knew, I don't see him bad mouthing US and bigging up Russia in US. He would rather shit on India in US instead....oh wait. He already did that. 😅

Biryani is NOT Mughal dish. Its earlier name was "Hindavi Laziz" ="Indian delicacy" The word Biryani is NOT Arabic, Persian,Turkic. It originally comes from Sanskrit word borrowed by Persian. Early Biryani with meat, rice & spices was known as मांसोदन in Ancient India. Biryani is made from rice and spices. In those days, Rice DID NOT EVEN GROW in the original Mughal homeland. Infact, the first Mughal emperor Babur DOES NOT EVEN MENTION mention rice when he was in Central Asia. He mentions other crops and cereals but rice is completely ABSENT. The Persian word 'Biryani' is comes from Persian 'Birinj' for rice. Now, this word is NOT FOUND in Old Persian. It suddenly occurs in Middle Persian. According to Mayrhofer's "Etymological Dictionary Of Old Indo Aryan", the word Birinj comes from Sanskrit word vrīhí (व्रीहि). Biryani is basically a dish made with rice, meat and spices. Such a dish known as मांसौदन is mentioned even in vedic literature. It is mentioned in Śatapathabrāhmaṇa (11. 5. 7. 5 & 14. 9. 4.17) Pāṇini in his Aṣṭādhyāyī also mentions it at 4. 4.67 ( correcting मांसौदन) An ancient Indian book on food known as Pākadarpaṇa (पाकदर्पण) is attributed to king Nala. According to Mahabharata, Nala was a great cook and he was gifted this ability by none other than Yama. According to ancient Indian lore, Nala was a cook in the kitchen of king Rituparna. Pākadarpaṇa was composed by King Nala according to the book itself and Indian tradition. It describes preparation of मांसौदन which is an early form of Biryani. First, the author describes preparation of boiled rice. He then adds meat, spices and even flowers for decoration. The author then describes the preparation of मांसौदन which is an early form of Biryani. The author describes the process of rinsing, soaking rice and then draining
One theory states that it originated from birinj (Persian: برنج), the Persian word for rice.[ Another theory states that it is derived from biryan or beriyan (Persian: بریان), which means "to fry" or "to roast". It may alternatively be related to the Persian word bereshtan (Persian: برشتن) which also means "to roast (onions)", as the dish is often prepared by flavouring rice with fried onions and meat, besides mild spices. None says that it originated from Sanskrit. Why do you have to associate everything with vedic culture? Let things be man.
@@shajiahzam2865 just because it got a persian name doesn't mean it was originated in Iran, Biryani as a name was popularized during mughal times. Rice itself is more native to south and south east asia, rice as a component in cuisine was more present in indian cuisine. You might wanna search on Oonchuroo.

I am sad that nobody points out that how if you joke or leave joke just tell facts about Muslims and Prophet from their Holy books in India. The whole muslim community - not the local one or Indian one but the whole international community (ummah) can ask for your beheading. While for decades we have had incessant jokes on our Hindu Gods, our culture. There is a difference where you make a joke on something and targeted demeaning of a community. I hope you all can see the distinction between the two. Btw that same comedian that went to jail recently won a popular reality TV in India. he definitely didn't won it without Hindu support. Three Mega superstars that have ruled bollywood for three decades are all muslims. Definitely if Hindus were a fanatically muslim hating community we would not have made Muslims our superstars and loved them. The retaliation that is coming from Hindu community, and I must say that our retaliation has not been violent retaliation as much as it can be in these high tension environment, our retaliation is a democratic one as we are voting for Hindu favoring Party that support Hindu policies. Our retaliation is a just one. The history of India before our Independence and even after our Independence is filled with oppression of Hindus by the Muslims. Go read history. It may sound funny to you that the Majority is oppressed by the Minority. Although even Minority is a very sizeable population(300 million). But it is the truth. Hindus are like that. We are a bit pushover but we are finally retaliating now and they are not liking it.

India and Russia have been allies since the very beginning. Russia has been India's supporter for every war that India has ever been in. In 1971 when Pakistan was committing genocide in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan), it was the US and UK who were funding, arming, and supporting Pakistan. Whereas it was the Soviets who armed India, pushed back the US, and helped India defeat Pakistan and create the country of Bangladesh. A little history goes a long way.

21:20 Andrew is asking right questions but the civilization which caused this is different. India was invaded by two civilizations first by Muslim sultanate and then by British. The Delhi sultanate and Nizam regime caused majority of population to become more culturally conservative. It became a protective mechanism for Hindu population. Destruction of knowledge, literature, art and science happened during their regime. Britishers were mainly interested in money and taking away resources. I think majority of India now is more or less moderate as per US political scale. Even the conservatives in India are not exactly similar to conservatives in US. Some similarities not all. British building railways in India is the biggest BS story that keeps repeating, if you look at the countries that have the most modern, efficient railway network like Japan, China, France or Germany, those countries were never colonized, TBH Indians built Indian Railway, for ex, Pakistan doesn't have good railway, or any of the African countries colonized by British, so colonial apologists should stop repeating this same old story. Vir Das is a smart guy. His words will blow your minds off. But he's certainly not a good comedian in India. He sucked at Bollywood, sucked at standup in India, and is definitely NOT the most famous comedian in India. I immediately clicked back to something Andrew said in a podcast with Joey Diaz about how some comedians aren't really comedians but they are more like Ted talkers who are funny. Vir Das is the exact definition of that. Another thing that Andrew has said was how Tiffany Hadish is what white people want black people to be. Vir Das is what American folks want Indians to be. He is a smart man. He knows that. And he does exactly that. Many people took offence to the rape thing. Ever since December 2016, literally hundreds of thousands of people have taken concrete action against rape. You can even see it irl, i commute daily on public transport and every woman/girl is given atleast two feet radius space, no matter how crowded it is in there. And no one tells us to do that. People do it on their own. There are many such things being done over here and people get offended when their efforts aren't acknowledged. I understand that these are just jokes. But we all have to understand that things work differently here. People hold religion and society in high regard. Jokes have to be a little truthful to work in India. Even if there is a little bit of truth in the joke, people will laugh. But if there's none, people will he offended.

Biryani is NOT Mughal dish. Its earlier name was "Hindavi Laziz" ="Indian delicacy"
The word Biryani is NOT Arabic, Persian,Turkic.
It is mentioned in Śatapathabrāhmaṇa (11. 5. 7. 5 & 14. 9. 4.17)
Pāṇini in his Aṣṭādhyāyī also mentions it at 4. 4.67
( correcting मांसौदन)
An ancient Indian book on food known as Pākadarpaṇa (पाकदर्पण) is attributed to king Nala.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@arunvarman2722 im legit sincerely curious as to what youre laughing about. Facts? Are you laughing at facts?

They didn't just ask for their beheading. 3 hindus were beheaded in three different states just because they supported Nupur Sharma (who spoke FACTS about Mohammed on National TV) on social media and the fellow muslims( not all) of our country are supporting and laughing at it. I mean if you're getting death threats because of something you said which is already written in very clear words in Islamic Holy books. If you're getting beheaded because you posted something on social media which in some way deeply hurt their feelings. The retaliation is reasonable when you make fun of Hindu gods.

He is NOT the most famous Indian comic ever. But you can say that for the sake of the podcast.
I think liberals in India are more trying to be westerners than they really are. Legitimate intellectuals? Lol come on now
If more audiences like you watch their shows, at least they will get more money. That's the only good thing with blind fans, they act as a buffer when the content is not working for artists. that's over exaggeration, infact these comodian who inspired by the western culture actually defend western culture in India and make fun of Indian culture and concidering it backwards.
@@Batman099 look, those of us who criticise India love India and that's the way we show our love for it because we want it to do better. I have talked to Americans who criticise America like no tomorrow but do they not love America? Of course they do! They love it and hence the criticism. It's so silly that vir das is the reference point for "indian comedians" in the world of stand up comedy while he is not even close to being amongst the most popular comedians in India. Only natural that someone who mostly does "brown people for white people comedy" is liked outside India but not inside it.
jealous bhakt spotted !!....VIR DAS is the only comedian who put up indian comedy on the global scene !
@@break_it_down350 this is why I feel 12 yr olds shouldn't be allowed to comment. Your "global scene" is american tv (Conan etc. where he has appeared) where they need someone who can break down things for americans(read white ppl) to understand. Enter useful idiots like vir das who explain brown ppl in white ppl terms (most of it in disparaging ways so they can feel good about themselves believing yeah the coolies are still backward ppl.) If this is what you call putting indian comedy on the global scene, have some self respect son.
@@break_it_down350 He got global scene only cause he makes woke political comedies & is a white people pleaser. Whoever does these, will get such platforms. It doesn't need to be a Bhakt to point out the facts. With such short sighted thinking no wonder Indian oppositions are in bonkers.

You know the best way to make it in America for such rejects is bootliking and being woke right? Vir Das doesn't represent shit but goes around masquerading as someone who is a big shot here. Lol, what a low life..
