Indeed
One aspect of Marin's awful court behaviors is that she's often quite good at delaying the game while having little respect and patience for her opponents, which definitely seems very double standard to me.
She can dish it out, but she can't take it.
Typical bully.
That's why I wasn't sorry at all when she was injured badly
Marin is trash
I have always wished to watch Marin vs Marin but sadly we only have one of her.
I agree. I think she also should really try not to yell at the top of her lungs for every cheated point that out of mind girl scored. She is very rude and yet thinks herself to be so good at badminton when she sucks at it soooooo much. She is even worse than any kid
The Queen of "No Respect".... Carolina Marin 👎
As a Chinese fan,I must say Yamaguchi Akane is a great athlete
Yes I like akane
As Corean, l respect Mao zedong
Yes..calm and down to earth

The best scence I saw is when I participated a amateur tournament in Korea in 2023. When a opponent had a cramp on his leg but tried keeping going the game, a man stopped the game and hand over the win in order to prevent the opponent's further injury
I couldn't help but admir him
I’ll never understand how Marin’s coaches or even people around her doesn’t make her understand how unsportsmanlike, degrading and embarrassing her behavior can get. Don’t care how many games you play, people seldom cheer her on.
people should understand that she is actually has a good impact on on the popularity of the sport, in order to get people's attention the sport often needs some drama, because that's the way a lot of people are, unfortunately.
@@dnull Disagree. Sportsmanship and intensity keep the sport alive, not some child-like behaviors
@@dnullit's a disgrace if you need such stunts to keep a sport popular
@@aryashetty3924 you probably haven't noticed, but it's what almost every major sport has, and that's what people often talk about which in turn makes the sport more popular, and honestly, i don't mind it at all, because at the end of the day it only benefits the athletes, and i would rather have them being payed better and have a sport exposed to a wider audience than having a ""perfectly behaved"" athletes.
Have you considered that possibility that Marin's coach is the one who wanted she to behave this way so that she get unfair advantage?

Tai tzu ying is a great athlete and a great person. Such a sweetheart.
I love that Shi Yu Qi has learnt from the past and has greater sportsmanship since that incident. It doesn’t matter what he did in the past, it’s the change that matters and I respect that.
one year ban is enough to teach lesson. He knows, if he will do it again, he may face it again. So, its a learnt behavior. But stills its good.
I meeeeaaannn, he may have changed his *behavior*, on the *court*, but did he change because of respect or did he change because he didn't want to get banned again?

Things like Tai Tzu-Ying giving Yamaguchi the bottle is basic human decency, not really "sportmanship" or "proof of respect" but still, it's very nice to see and that they still do that in such stressful and competitive moments :)
That's Knight's Honor (I want to play the game when you are fully prepared, not when you missed something and got affected), which I think is quite sportsmanship.
No wonder there are multiple instances of the 0% respect cases for Carolina Marin, horrible attitude!

I have seen a 4 episode documentary on Marin's struggles and was really admired her. If only the documentary showed the total disrespect she shows to her opponents, to show her true colors.
i have no respect for her
Marin is the worst in this video.
Her behavior is disgusting
@@user-lu1xj6hw3m Yeah. Most other "disrespect" behaviors are quite harmless compared to Marin. After all it's understandable to be mad after you lost the match and it's your own loss when you destroy your racket, nobody else is really affected. But Marin did that during the match to bully her opponent.
I feel bad for Akane how Marin returns the shuttle that way.
Most disrespectful behavior is from Spanish Carolina. . .
If I was in the crowd I would probably shouted some curse words at her for that. What a disgraceful act. Against a Japanese player as well who are culturally the most polite people in the world.

Marin's behaviors are really disgusting. She should be kicked out of the badminton world.
That is why Tai Tzu Ying is so popular.
Of course, Marin is there. And the new contender bearing Marin's unsportsmanlike behavior seem to be Mia Blichfeldt.

I know whatever featured here is a sample too small to come to any conclusions, but from common sense and general knowledge of western individualistic culture and free expression vs eastern others-centric culture and community-mindedness, you can see it manifested in sportsmanship. Axelson is indeed a true gem with all-around great player and the sportsmanship to go with it. He's also one of the few really tall badminton players to have overcome the weak-points of most tall players, including shots directed at the hip and neck/shoulder-blade areas which are on the same side as the dominant hand, because the longer limbs take a nano second longer to reach and defend those specific spots.
While your reasoning makes sense I think there's a lot of selection bias involved here from the video maker. There are countless examples of Asian players lacking sportsmanship (minions on many occasions, Chinese/Korean WD in London, those Thai players that had a fistfight, just to name a few), but they chose not to include those. That's not to say Asian players are less sportsmanlike, but rather that you can tell any story you like with a video like this really.
That"s exactly what I want to say!
Carolina is really a badass no manners player. Maybe she got a bad attitude all this while. Anyway, I always cheer for her.....to loose.

During the Singapore Open several years ago, the last match of the day was between Axelsen and Lin Dan.
