Halo show needs a reset. I know it had its fans, but a large population of viewers were watching out of pain (myself included) because we so desperately want some sort of Halo content. Years we've been seeing the fan made content, and had the canceled Neil Blomkamp movie, only to be treated with something so far removed from the game and lore itself. Being canceled is a good thing, since it opens up a chance to reboot the series for real, under different leadership and management, and can actually give the audience the experience of Halo's story on screen. Already the game has finally begun a reset (not Infinite) to go back to its roots to test the waters. Same can go for the other media.
@jordanclark4635 things are often set up, abandoned and reset. Looking at films like Batman, Superman, Spiderman. Set up, mediocre sometimes but also can come out much better with a remake
@Nighthorde26 Every game since Halo 4 was a soft reboot, I'm okay with the show following in those footsteps, in this particular case. Saying it 'was set up for a season 3' just means 'they planned to continue the story' and.... yeah, they clearly weren't done. It just isn't a story, or interpretation at least, worth continuing. When you adapt a popular franchise and the fans of that franchise are the smallest portion of your audience, you should re-evaluate.
I think if they do it has to be all new cast. Start all over again. Pablo and most of the cast were fine actors, I just don’t think I can take them seriously anymore in their roles.
My pick is have a suit actor, stick to the tradition of never showing his face, and have him be voiced over by Steve Downes like James Earl Jones/Darth Vader
@@Ch4osWe4veR This was such an obvious and simple thing to do it is baffling they didn't do it, anyone with 2 braincells and knowing Halo would know that is pretty much the only way to make Chief in Live Action. Animated yeah sure you might show his face a bit (mostly because you can make him look exactly how he is supposed to) but in live action, giving him a real person's face just doesn't work.
I'm glad it was shut down by this provider, it was done in every way wrong, and I'm hoping it's picked up by someone who gives a crap about the lore and doesn't make chief look like a teen boy with a bleeding heart love interest...
I truly hope we get some of that original Halo feel, like Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Nightfall. They may not be the best, but they should have set a minimum standard for making an accurate Halo TV show.
@filip9587 you're not wrong, such things made Master Chief what he truly was. That scene against the hunter was better than anything in the "Halo TV series"
Arcane is quite literally operating on a seperate canon from the original League lore and has done so for cinematic purposes, the exact same reason the silver timeline is different from the original halo one. Most of you guys can identify a show you don't like but aren't able to say what make a good one and it's exhausting to read
@@viziontrex I personally, don't like the silver timeline because what they did wasn't make a new timeline, they wrote a completely different story that only used the superficial look of halo The show doesn't take place in an alternate timeline, an alternate timeline, in most media, just means that there's some differences here and there, but it follows a similar main story, and the major parts of the original timeline's story still happen, this one, is closer to an alternate universe in media, it's the same 'characters' in terms of like, the same body, the same look, many may have similar personalities, but it's a far different story, and that's what I think has so many people pissed off The covenant never would have allowed a human into their ranks because Humans were the reclaimers, and the High Prophets were trying to hide that, which is why they were exterminating the humans, the very idea of letting a human work with them was Heresy, because it violated their beliefs in the original. John, never, in the games, until the Halo 4 Legendary ending, removed his helmet. Never before, and Never after has it done it in a game. Hell, even in most media except this new timeline, has he ever removed his helmet where the audience has seen it, in fact, I'm pretty sure only a select few people that we ever meet in the games even know what his face looks like, and it's probably Cortana, Halsey, and maybe Johnson. Mandalorian already showed that it worked, Vader did it to, if they were going to do a face reveal, it should have been a moment like what they did in Mandalorian, not for the same reasons, not recreating the scene, but have it as a big moment, a form of character development, him showing that he's not a machine, but an actual human, instead of doing it with that stupid emotional inhibitor chip thing or whatever it was. TL:DR they changed a huge amount of the story of Halo without making that clear beforehand, and a lot of people were hoping for, something like the story of the games, or just the human covenant war in general as a tv series, and instead we got a completely different story about a completely different main character that just has master chiefs armor essentially
Theyve only themselves to blame. The fans begged and pleaded and we were given a stiff middle finger. This will stop happening when people start giving the franchise the respect it deserves instead of giving us "their vision".
For what it's worth, some do not like Todd Howard and the direction he took Fallout games and what they have become and same goes for the Elder Scrolls. What Halo TV needs, are some of the writers of Halo games (bungie and early 343) to help with the writing or give input, much like what Todd Howard does and did for the Fallout TV show. There needs to be people there that knows what Halo was all about, understands the lore and can present it in a way that isn't a backhand to the older fan base, while also trying to bring in new fans as well. They also need to stop with the hiring of the wrong people to play the characters and stop re-writing characters to fit a different role. The existing characters from the franchise should be off limits to role changes.
@MorganNull-uj6uu Halo 4 was pretty good. But 5 was the last one I bought. Was waiting for Infinite to be released with split-screen co-op, but since that didn't happen, said screw it.
@@ThommyofThenn This is untrue. The loudest group is not necessarily the biggest. Fallout TV was the epitome of Howardian Fallout and it was extremely well received for instance, Fallout 4 was a massive financial hit
They actually quite clearly did base it on the books in a way. Just pulling different elements from different books to make a new narrative. Might not be the best quality, but the book influence it there, not the games though really unfortunately.
And if they followed the books/games 1-1, they'd get flak for not doing anything 'new'. They did something new, and got flak for it.... they really couldn't win.
@@Tank50us Ayo I dunno who the flip-flakkity-flap would moan and and groan about a book and lore followed series of movies/tv shows would get flak for "not being original". But since I first read Fall of Reach, First Strike, The Flood, and Ghosts of Onyx I have been DYING to see those stories made into a adaption on screen. *_DYING_* But this "non-canon" silver-verse moose dropping of a thing. Was not it. And the action of the spartans on screen was nauseating and affected my vertigo; and 99% of FPS games and combat action games along with flight sims don't do that. Forward Unto Dawn, Fall of Reach mini webisodes, Halo Reach live action trailers, Halo cutscenes, and Halo Wars cutscenes actually pulled off spartan movement really well despite some corny and questionable scenes from time to time. If they had made a good series and actually had more episodes than 8 in a "season", they would've had it in the bag. They COULD'VE "won". But for the weight of their heresy . . . . .
@@Tank50us I see this argument a lot and for me it would hold water if there weren't so many stupid decisions made with the lore surrounding events in the show for no tangible reason and the production team wasn't actively avoiding learning anything about what was good about the games story and the deep details about it
@@corbinshults4466I don't see how it's based on the books at all. I've done fall of reach up to ghosts of onyx. Contact harvest, cole protocol, silent storm trilogy and kilo 5 trilogy and I do not see how in any way the show was ever faithful to these books. I mean they couldn't even get chiefs armour right
If I were Amazon Prime, I'd abandon the current show altogether. Not only does it suck at abysmal levels, but from a business standpoint, picking up such a poorly written show is risky. The reviews are mixed at most and all the scenes that don't make sense will require some serious rhetorical gymnastics to fix and patch up. NOW, if they started fresh, here are some ideas I have: - The original trilogy, following the game's plot closely. - A story about a marine/ODST during the events of Halo. - A story about a civilian trying to escape New Alexandria / New Mombasa. - OR, look into the source material. Perhaps one of the many books can be adapted, or pieces of the lore can be portrayed. LOTS OF POTENTIAL TO BE HAD.
If amazon does pick it up, a smaller storyline in the halo universe would be a good idea to build interest in the universe again and they wouldn't need the huge budget the main story would need.
The problem is that they want to be game of thrones (like Witcher did), even tho once you get on the Halo, you absolutly CAN'T make a character-driven story, the whole of Hale CE is a plot-driven narrative from begining to end. Then in Halo 2 you have more room for politics, religious fanatism and all that stuff and 3 you can really make it about the characters as well as the plot. But the events on the Halo should be dedicated to presenting the setting, presenting the mystery of the Forerunners and Flood and establishing the Covenant as a threat, plus laying the ground work for the main characters (Cortana, Chief, Johnson, Guilty-Spark), most of the character stuff in the events of CE should be with marines, but the big characters should be focussed on the mission and how to progress the plot.
My guy, this isn’t a blank slate. This is an inherited mess. The flood is already discovered on Onyx, Sorens son still kidnapped, the arbiter is dead. The general sentiment is the show is cheeks. Thinking anyone other streaming service to have a show that needs a second reboot in its 3rd season. Thats some Installation C00pium
You forgot the fact that Halsey is infected by the flood and pretty much dead by all intents and purposes of the show. The only 2 outcomes I can see from this are that either she takes Keyes's place as the protogravemind wich would need them to be able to get from onyx to the halo as a really big plot convenience. Or her daughter actually manages to cure her, wich would break the whole point of the halo and upset the fan base further. This show just cannot stop writing itself into a corner and I really don't get how are people still thinking there's a chance for a comeback
@@makairidah8354 Yeah, and I keep seeing people saying they did the Flood justice, I find they ruined it as well. They turned what is supposed to be the biggest plot twist of the story into "yeah so now there's zombies on the ship". Like, dear f*cking lord there's 1 level, ONE level in the whole franchise that is used in frigging CINEMA SCHOOL to illustrate how to make a story twist and how to do environmental story-telling, and they just ignored it and gave us zombies (with a few tentacles). This show is just trash from begining to end.
If Amazon picks Halo up, this show needs to be completely forgotten and they need to start anew with a focus on maintaining the standards they set with Fallout: deep respect to the lore and stories, interesting well written characters, and a robust budget.
Fallout was a bad TV show. It relied heavily on Fallout iconography to sell itself as a Fallout TV show while ignoring the story and dialogue. Basically point to a BoS and say OMG it's BoS.
I wouldn't give this to Amazon either. Not after The Expanse, honestly all sci-fi works need a dedicated studio that can actually dedicate the necessary budgets to the projects.
Stop fucking saying deep respect of the lore when the Fallout show is an original story within the universe and isn't beholden to the same sort of storytelling Halo has You're right that Fallout was a good show. But it was a good show for entirely different reasons as to why the Halo show was not as much.
@@nosai10 Season 2 was noticeably better than 1 (imo) I'm bummed it it's over I was interested to see where it was going to go. And regardless people lose jobs when shows shut down too.
That's just a no-name writer (team) who never got to tell the stories they want because they are shit so like parisites they infect and hijack an already established story they are asked to adapt to television. Same thing happened with Witcher, same thing happened with Acolyte. It's not "hey what if", it is "I don't give a f*ck I'll tell the story I want"
The fact that I’m so happy to hear this news tells me just how bad the show was. I’ve been dying for an accurate Halo movie/show adaptation ever since CE back in ‘01. I have always wanted to see Chief on the small or big screen portrayed in a way that’s faithful and respectful to the source material. For me, it’s such a bummer and disappointment with the abomination and trash we were fed with this show. Halo really needs a W and it’s a shame those at 343 responsible for putting the show together *cough* Kiki wolfkill/Frank O’Connor *cough* only continue to drag down this incredible franchise even further :(
As long as the people who allowed the sex scene and Chief going around without his helmet the entire show remain in the project, it will continue to fail, because they CLEARLY are completely out of touch with what Halo is.
I shilled for the show early on, but it became clear that the creators had ZERO interest in actually giving us a REAL Halo tv show. They wanted to give us something else and called it Halo. The sad part is, they already had all the pieces to make an amazing show. Instead they chose not to, and do something else.
For example, If I was in charge... Season 1: John start off with Noble Team on Reach, then during the Fall of reach, each member of Noble Teams sacrifices themselves to help Master Chief and Cortana escape reach, then ended Season 1 with them finding Halo. Season 2: The entire Halo Combat Evolved Game, ending with Master Chief escaping Halo. Season 3: The entire Halo 2 and ODST Games, this would give the show two different stories to focus on while being lore faithful. Season 4: Halo 3 Game up until the Flood crash land on earth when the Ark opens. Season 5: The last half of Halo 3, ending with John and Cortana out in space waiting for rescue.
Tbh, this has been how 343 has been handling Halo since 2010. They have all this established lore and set pieces that Bungie left for them, and they refuse to use them to their full potential.
@@Tetrohedracon for season 7: you could go for the books. Flood, forerunner wars or first contact. For season 8 maybe halo 4 with story fr the books to make it more interesting. Like bad blood so we could see rookies dead NOT OFFSCREEN or in a book. Season 9: I don’t know how to save Halo 5 lol, there is so much info dump to do so the story gets decent. Season 10: halo wars 1-2 and maybe some created vs human wars. Season eleven: Infinite.
@@Arander92 I’m open for an original story, but I would love to see an adaptation of Halo CE along with the flood novel. There is so much material which isn’t in the game
The problem is that even if a new provider like Amazon does pick it up, they’re still going to drag in all the baggage from the previous seasons. I seriously doubt that they would start from scratch. For me I don’t think it can be salvaged, so I’d rather just see the show die out rather than see it keep wearing the halo franchise like a bad suit
First off Paramount+ is much older than Disney+, and a lot of the computation because it’s been thru several name and brand changes and mergers over the years. Almost as many as Max or whatever it’s called now. So it’s not exactly a new player in the game.
Legit, these things are a numbers game - the shows cancelled because it didnt make paramount the money nor the views / subscribers that they were after. It's just business there's literally no other reason to get rid of a show - it's down to money at the end of the day nothing else really.
Thank you for not speaking in copium like every other Halo TH-camr. I don’t understand the language. I can’t learn it because like you, I actually have a grip on reality

@@bryancalzadilla because the show cost a lot of money and Paramount was in debt that's why they had to merged with Skymedia. Halo should be rebooted and new better writers and just stick to the cannon please don’t try to wam bam it just give us what we liked so much in the game and books
The writers do what they're told. You don't demand the programmers be replaced when a videogame sucks. The economic system produced this not individuals
Hearing "Master Cheeks" come out of the mouth of such an educated, cultured, and refined human being honestly has to be the funniest thing I have heard/seen in ages. Thanks for that, 00. Getting serious, I didn't hate the show. I just wish they had stuck to the books and games closer. Exploring all of the things you mentioned like the human cost of a conflict like the war fought against the covenant is great, but they should have just kept with the characters and story that we all have come to know and love. They would have had an instant W if they had. Again, I didn't hate the show, play definitely came to appreciate it in its own context and right, but they really should have kept to the source material. I honestly hate to see anyone or anything fail...
The Silver Timeline needs to just die and never come back. I would be all for Prime picking up and making a FAITHFUL adaptation of the Halo lore. I think there's plenty of content to make a solid first season with the first game and the additional content provided in the book The Flood. Throw in some flashback storytelling for some of the relevant bits in The Fall of Reach and you've got a blockbuster.
I feel sorry for Joseph Morgan, who plays Ackerson. He clearly loves Halo and clearly did everything he can to bring a compelling character to the show. I hope it's not all for nothing. I wouldn't mind seeing the Pillar of Autumn coming to Halo, even if Chief is already on Halo. They could pick up Kai on the way, and put her in some kind of recovery, rather than cryo, then she comes out as the Covenant are boarding. She could basically take Chief's role from the game. Or, they could just have only marines, maybe as a way to introduce new characters. They could even bring Keyes back for it and have some quick dialogue explaining how he got off Reach.
@Arander92 What does it matter if it’s “in-canon” (assuming you mean in the actual timeline along with the games and books) or not? Not everything needs to be or is best as a transmedia universe. Halo: Reach was made without caring if the story contradicted the Fall of Reach book. Sometimes approaching things as their own separate thing can be a blessing, especially being approachable to people who might not have followed everything or are new in general.
The problem with the show was that the writers and producers didn’t realize they were supposed to be making a war story. If I were in charge, I would’ve made them play the first 4 games, and then watch Band of Brothers, the last four seasons of Star Trek DS9, Starship Troopers, and Aliens.
These writers have no idea how to write military fiction as a whole, forget the Human-Covenant War. Zero respect for ranks, no one salutes, insubordination isn't even acknowledged, idiotic tactics and strategies, etc. The characters may wear a uniform but they absolutely do not behave as military personnel. So glad the 'toxic fans' got vindicated once again with another series that shat the bed with a beloved IP.
Why last 4 of Ds9? The actual war doesn't start until the last 2. Also the writers aren't to blame they get told what to do. They follow orders. They probably only wrote drama up to that point and were picked for being drama writers because that's what they wanted the Halo TV show to be
Heres a good reset in my opinion Season One CE Season 2 First Strike Season 3 HALO 2 SEASON 4 ODST/Ghost Of ONYX Season 5 HALO 3 Season 6-7 THE KILO 5 TRILOGY Season 8: HALO 4 Season 9 THE GUARDIANS SEASON 10 INFINITE PREQUEL SERIES SEASON ZERO: REACH 2530-2559 HALO WARS AND HALO WARS 2
Or just tel an original story set in the game’s timeline. THEN you can do a reimagining of either Halo 4 or 5 and undo some the bad writing and character decisions in those games, paving the way for a new beginning

I know it has been 2 years since the TV show premierd, but I think I just realised something, about the infamous Chief and Makee plot point. While I 100% agree it is awful and clear character assassination for Chief, I belive its possible that Makee originates from very early extended lore from the classic halo era. In the novelisation of CE ("Halo: The Flood") there is a female ODST named Melissa McKay, She fights alongside the chief, and at one point she even sees John outside of his armor. In a FEW LINES in the book, there are VERY, VERY SUBTLE hints that the Chief might have been interested in her. As he is escaping from halo In the longsword, "He thought about sargent Melissa McKay. The womans calm green eyes. He never had the chance to get to know her better." I think what happend, is that the showrunners, read some of the books instead of looking at the games, and desperately looked for any traces of romance, this beeing the best they could lach on to. Turning MaKay, into Makee.
Except when your product becomes good and valuable you either keep it and run it or you SELL it tale the money and run. Neither of which we have any indication of happening here. If the show was so popular and not getting trashed then there is literally no reason to not continue it.
I want more Master Chief. I fell in love with it when my 12 year old grandson was playing the game years ago. I watched with him and was like woooo where did this come from. It was fantastic and I’m not done by any means. PLEASE!!
It's not necessarily bad ur just comparing it to anther story entirely. It's not the same story, and it's not overwhelming amazing but it's a decent story by itself plot holes aside
@@tjcochran4641 the fact that the other stories exist is why we judge the show at all in the first place, it wouldn't be as popular as it is without Halo alrerady having a fanbase, to say we shouldn't compare it to anything else is ridiculous
@Tsukimi39 I get what ur saying but at the same time u can only tell the same story in so many forms while still turning a profit. The whole goal of the show is to do just that, explore a new timeline and show a new story and they said that from conception of the show
@@tjcochran4641 I disagree on multiple levels, Halo has never had a faithful movie/tv show adaptation, it would be a new media form and people would lap it up. Alternatively, if they wanted to make their own show based in halo canon, then they should have done that and not used the master chief, halsey, cortana, keys, ackerson and all of these characters that we know from the games and completely rewrite their roles, personalities, races, etc. Instead they should have fully leaned into their own original characters and stories with the halo universe as a backdrop, I wouldn't have disliked the show as much then because honestly when we get to see Soren being a rogue spartan doing piratey things, it was pretty good, and seeing other spartan teams is always nice.
You had some hot takes when defending the show. Though I disagreed with many of them. But here's hoping that when Christopher Noland can make something out of it where more people can find enjoyment from it.
Not many big houses might want to pick-up a show that was cancelled. They might fear that it's not where the money's at. So the risk is that Halo is picked up by an even smaller house than Paramount and as a consequence, drops even more in terms of budget.
A reboot would be best in my opinion as the series from paramount + missed the main character development of chief! The human is the machine and the AI is the human and how it plays out.
As a controversial fan of the show, I hope some changes are made, but I hope they don’t kill off Mackee. If you threw the romance aside and made it just so they had this parallel power with the ring, it made a very interesting story
It was unfortunate the people behind creating the HALO tv series didn't use the rich HALO canon info. but...if the tv series gets picked up by another they could start the series off with a young John 117. (The Fall of Reach) Show the on-going intense training as a child, his bonding with the core kids. The brutal augmentaions, & loss. Young Halsey & her experiments, (Halseys personal journals)assigning John's team with the first MJOLNIR Armor. (Birth of a Spartan) The missions of young teen Spartans fighting against the human insurectionists.(Forward Unto Dawn) All the while showing another side, the ODST and UNSC military training for missions. The corruption within Government factions attempting to gain control. Adding the human insurectionists and their fight against tyranical government military powers. OR go back even further to the Forerunners story ruling the universe. Or delve into the Covenant world. So much to choose from other than continuing the Paramont HALO storyline. Give viewers who have no clue what the HALO world is all about.
I was actually looking foward to season 3 as it got more interesting there in the end! I wanted to see how they do a full flood outbreak and the halo ring, as we only got like 3 minutes of the halo ring. 😅😔 an animated halo show by perhaps blur would be sick!

I disagree with all of your points made. If another streaming service picks up this series they need to cast everything that was done into the waste bin and start from scratch and follow the original story like they did with the last of us. If you're going to follow Master Chief, you need to stick to the original Source material.
The only reason Halo got the blowback that it did, is "fans" wanted the game and didn't get it. This was a new Halo and a new story that was meant to draw new people, which it seemingly did very well at. I was actually quite happy with the show and I was an O.G. halo player on the XBox and PC. Not all of us didn't like it and we did realize what this was supposed to be.

Nice one on actually doing some proper investigation, you are absolutely correct on the Paramount+ situation, these guys burnt through money, they were practically giving away subscriptions for free in an attempt to get viewers. Just give me a well researched and written miltary sci-fi that isn't afraid to show the ugly side, the sacrifices and the heroics of war, that doesn't reject the source material and the fans that turned it into a multi billion dollar franchise in the first place.
Amazon has bought some decent goodwill with the fallout series for me, I don’t like knit picked issues, but as its own it’s a good adaptation. Do I like its retroactive lore? Hell no. But if Amazon got Halo and restarted it the way it’s supposed to be with established lore and maybe some additions between moments like separate stories during the jump to delta halo, or in the weeks following the jump to the ark, how earth readied for the flood, or a high action ODST series with a subliminal ONI plot integrated each season.
I think it has potential if somebody else picks it up and sticks to the lore of the games so that it can be cannon to the games. A new show should be made but it should stick close to the established story.

Maybe Tubi will pick it up, I just pray no one does. Just go the anime route again until they can secure competent writers, they did it before and it's a popular trend right now.
The expanse received a fresh take after switching over to Amazon, the storytelling was already in place but the visuals were given a much needed overhaul
What the producers showrunner whoever for the Halo show should have done was adapted contact Harvest specifically so they could buy their time to produce practical effects for certain alien species that could be reused for future Productions, along with treating the Spartans like a unicorn on the battlefield
Season 2 was better than season 1 but the bar was set very low. Paramount butchered Star Trek and didn't fix Picard until the final season. They need to create a series targeting halos biggest audience. That's CE to 3 era. Lots of fan service. If they don't or can't do a faithful adaptation in the vein of The Last of US, it's not going to work.
After reading all the expanse books, and all the halo books, I REALLY HOPE prime picks up halo, they did a phenomenal job with the expanse, they’d make a killing with halo because there is so much lore. Bring in Installation00 as a producer and the entire fan base is satisfied.
I like the outlook of another provider, that knows how to cater to a fan base, picking it up at Halo CE. Like Bungee originally, there’s no reason they can’t come back in a few years, after essentially making “the flood” and “first strike” and correct the silver mistake with “the fall of reach”.
They should back track and say a few days earlier or so find a way to bring keys back, have Nobel 6 drop Cortana off to keys then go with chief waking up and having to run to the bridge. Then have him say " Captain keys ?" Have that very first intention be him asking that and they follow the books from there First strike as there Bible No excuses
I’ve been a Halo fan since the beginning, and I did appreciate a lot of the different changes to show to see how things could have gone if some odd changes were made. My only problem, and it was a big one for me, was Makee and all the problems she brought and was a part of. None of that made any sense to me.
I love how your only complaint of it is that you hate the idea of marginalized people being in it. Bro the current Halo Show already had black and female Spartans and a gay couple so they’ve already done that lol
At last the suffering and humiliation is over. If somebody else picks this up they would do well to ignore season 1 and 2. It's a shame because Reach is an epic story and could have been unforgettable.
What I want is a good foundation to build on top of. I think there should be first a big good movie adaptation of The Fall of Reach book and then a series that would start again during the fall of reach, but seen from other POV. I would make a Johnson and a Buck POV, both fighting their way out of Reach. Johnson would find it's way to the PoA and Buck would head back to Earth. Master Chief would only be a character we would see during key events. 1st season would be 2 episodes on Reach then the rest on Halo (Johnson's POV) and Buck with his ODST squad doing military stuff on Earth until the events of Halo 2. Maybe an other POV with Halsey on Reach and Onyx. I don't want to simply see again Halo CE being told again from MC's POV.
All these arrogant showrunners had to do was simply adapt the book Fall of Reach and they would've had the perfect first season for Halo. But no, they knew better...
honestly i would just restart from season 1 and get hbo to make it as we have seen from HOTD and GOT that when they have enough source material they can make iconic shows and they are not afraid to go bloody and full of gore.
If they do continue where S2 ended on w S3, the UNSC has a much bigger presence on the Ring w there surviving fleet of ships from the orbital battle. The Covenant and UNSC will establish bases on the Ring must definitely, and if the Flood are there, they will have a much bigger amount of bodies for infection, w the larger amount of humans there. But if they are going to reboot it again, be more in-line w the games, then yeah, seeing the PoA come out of slipspace seeing that Ring, will be awesome way to start it off.
Have to disagree with installation00. This show was bad all the way around. Nothing about the show said “halo” to me. Was more of a “oh hell no”. With all the content and stories out about halo, how could they have got it this wrong? And hopefully another provider picks up the show and does it justice, but I somehow doubt it
I really liked the show, & hope it's picked up. It definitely had some quirky stuff, but it also got so much right. People who disparage it completely just can't understand that it's different medium. It's not a game show, but a TV series based on one.
But “it’s a different medium” isn’t an excuse. Look at fallout and the last of us. Those honored the identity and story of the originals (well, somewhat with fallout). The writers went out of their way to write their own story that is inferior and more confusing/convoluted than the original game’s.

The problem I have with this perspective is it was well set up for season 3
@@Nighthorde26 💯
If you don't like it STOP WATCHING IT. All you're doing is giving them money to continue it
I think if they do it has to be all new cast. Start all over again. Pablo and most of the cast were fine actors, I just don’t think I can take them seriously anymore in their roles.
Keep Joseph Morgan as Ackerson though, I think.
That sounds like you didn't watch the entirety of season 2. They were incredible.
My pick is have a suit actor, stick to the tradition of never showing his face, and have him be voiced over by Steve Downes like James Earl Jones/Darth Vader
@@Ch4osWe4veR I would fucking love that so much!
@@Ch4osWe4veR This was such an obvious and simple thing to do it is baffling they didn't do it, anyone with 2 braincells and knowing Halo would know that is pretty much the only way to make Chief in Live Action.

League Of Legends Arcane basically took the canon and expanded upon it, gets Emmy award...
With Halo they pulled a Game of Thrones season 8.
Arcane is quite literally operating on a seperate canon from the original League lore and has done so for cinematic purposes, the exact same reason the silver timeline is different from the original halo one.
Most of you guys can identify a show you don't like but aren't able to say what make a good one and it's exhausting to read
@@viziontrex I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that riot has confirmed that arcane is canon to the main league of legends universe now
@viziontrex Tell me you know nothing about Leagues lore without telling me.
Rings of POWA vibes
@@viziontrex I personally, don't like the silver timeline because what they did wasn't make a new timeline, they wrote a completely different story that only used the superficial look of halo
The show doesn't take place in an alternate timeline, an alternate timeline, in most media, just means that there's some differences here and there, but it follows a similar main story, and the major parts of the original timeline's story still happen, this one, is closer to an alternate universe in media, it's the same 'characters' in terms of like, the same body, the same look, many may have similar personalities, but it's a far different story, and that's what I think has so many people pissed off
The covenant never would have allowed a human into their ranks because Humans were the reclaimers, and the High Prophets were trying to hide that, which is why they were exterminating the humans, the very idea of letting a human work with them was Heresy, because it violated their beliefs in the original.
@@Ratkill9000Not getting involved but to share my experience, it would seem the majority of people dislike the Howard era pretty strongly

@@ThommyofThenn This is untrue. The loudest group is not necessarily the biggest. Fallout TV was the epitome of Howardian Fallout and it was extremely well received for instance, Fallout 4 was a massive financial hit

If this is the best we were ever going to possibly get? That’s a good thing
Too many Halo chefs in the TV show production soup.
They had so many books and games to base the show off of but noooooooooooooo
*_DYING_*
But this "non-canon" silver-verse moose dropping of a thing.
NOW, if they started fresh, here are some ideas I have:
- The original trilogy, following the game's plot closely.
I would love to see an adaptation of the Halo: The Flood book. It does a really good job of expanding on the first game
I would get prime if they would get halo
My guy, this isn’t a blank slate. This is an inherited mess. The flood is already discovered on Onyx, Sorens son still kidnapped, the arbiter is dead. The general sentiment is the show is cheeks. …..Soren’s son is back with him? They got out.

@@dat8835 They get told what to do bruh like any other worker on earth. We don't live in a magical society where writers just prance around doing as they please without direction
Halo has to be the game with one of the richest lore. Amazon should pick it up and just follow the games and books faithfully.
He never had the chance to get to know her better."
I think what happend, is that the showrunners, read some of the books instead of looking at the games, and desperately looked for any traces of romance, this beeing the best they could lach on to. Turning MaKay, into Makee.
Except when your product becomes good and valuable you either keep it and run it or you SELL it tale the money and run. Neither of which we have any indication of happening here. If the show was so popular and not getting trashed then there is literally no reason to not continue it.
This wasn't a devise show, almost everyone didn't like the show lol
I want more Master Chief. I fell in love with it when my 12 year old grandson was playing the game years ago. I watched with him and was like woooo where did this come from. It was fantastic and I’m not done by any means. PLEASE!!
Its basically another tv series with the halo skin.
The moment I saw the news I have been waiting for this video!
The show was bad, and I'm glad to see it gone
@@tjcochran4641 Yes, it was bad. Stop coping and making excuses for terrible adaptions.
Master cheeks is non canon
You had some hot takes when defending the show. Though I disagreed with many of them. But here's hoping that when Christopher Noland can make something out of it where more people can find enjoyment from it.
Is there actually a source for this? I've seen this been said alot but with no sources given.
I love your way of thinking. Let's hope this becomes a reality.
best retcon imaginable is making the entire two seasons a dream
It was unfortunate the people behind creating the HALO tv series didn't use the rich HALO canon info. but...if the tv series gets picked up by another they could start the series off with a young John 117. (The Fall of Reach)
Show the on-going intense training as a child, his bonding with the core kids. The brutal augmentaions, & loss. Young Halsey & her experiments, (Halseys personal journals)assigning John's team with the first MJOLNIR Armor. (Birth of a Spartan) The missions of young teen Spartans fighting against the human insurectionists.(Forward Unto Dawn)
All the while showing another side, the ODST and UNSC military training for missions.
They should just pick it up in season 3 as a bad dream by real master chief and make an actually good show
The people whom written this, gave their okay on this, and continued on this should NEVER be allowed near a Halo project again.
It blow my mind that you are defending this show
come back here update still nothing no season 3 no one has taken up the tv series. Lol thank god if a new tv series comes about its definitely going to be reboot and we can kick the series out of the picture fully and we can get a proper Halo accurate tv series
I disagree with all of your points made. If another streaming service picks up this series they need to cast everything that was done into the waste bin and start from scratch and follow the original story like they did with the last of us. If you're going to follow Master Chief, you need to stick to the original Source material.
Why not have something new? Either way the budget needed to pull off a faithful adaption just isn't there.
I actually loved season 2, I know they messed the lore up but Pablo won me over at the end, guess I'm one of the few that is deeply sad by this news
I need that HBO reboot like I need water and oxygen.
God no anyone but hbo cause for some reason they don’t stream here in Australia so you got to wait for a year or two for the other platforms to get the show you want to watch
@@arobe17
Man that sucks I didn’t know that
I agree with you. it was all bc of the money. Halo will be picked bc mostly. It was one of the shows most seen and also downloaded. If paramount and dky reached an agreement, i think Halo will continue, which is why they took so long to tell us something.
The show annoyed me, but I loved having a Halo show. I'd love a straight up reboot though
Coming from a humongous Halo fan since 2004 that read the books, stayed up countless nights playing the game and listening to the music throughout my life. *That* show, atleast the first season cuz i didnt watch the second and have no interest what so ever, was a complete and utter disrespectful slap to my face. Im still mad they took his helmet off.
The fact that we only got 1.1 Episodes of THE. FALL. OF. REACH. in s2, speaks volumes to the utter doo hicky that the creators of the show were imbibing.
@@tyvernoverlord5363 the scumbags even made all the trailers seem like the season would focus on the Battle of Reach but it was a literal footnote in one episode
@@dragonfruitsalad It was just terrible
Time for Halo to return to Mac, Apple TV has been dropping banger shows, could see Halo maybe going there.
If Amazon picks it up, the show needs a reset without the production crew altering the stories in the universe.
I too support the show it was quite confusing and seemed like it was not following a specific plot the episodes seemed random but the good episode where great and the fact that halo is still alive is awsome in itself to me I appreciate everyone keeping halo alive and I will love halo the rest of my life
I hope someone else picks it up, even though it was downright awful at times I still enjoyed it, seeing things from halo in live action was so cool and the show was finally getting good. They did the flood so well, it'll be a shame if we never get to see more.
Where are these viewing numbers coming from? Ive seen the articles about the premiers numbers but nothing about the ongoing viewership
Just let us have the win man
bro is begging prime to pick up the show😂😂😂
😂
He wants this to be successful so bad, I wish he understood the best thing for Halo right now is for this show to remain cancelled so someone else can make a good Halo movie that is in-canon
@@Arander92 I mean, he defended this show to the core with his infamous now deleted "Why The Hate?" video. I don't know what he was thinking, dude was on some serious copium
@@FrostbiteDigital I mentioned this to someone before.
I think the reason he and others refuse to turn on this show is because they perceive it as the last and only hope for ever getting ANY Halo live action anything EVER. That THIS is the best that we can hope for, and that if this show doesn’t get a third season, then it’s dead forever.
Now I don’t need to tell you how insanely irrational it is to jump to such an extreme conclusion, but that really seems to be what all these TH-camrs have convinced themselves of. You can hear the fear in their voices whenever they’re forced to acknowledge criticisms. They REALLY think this is it!
*Grunt Birthday Party Skull Sound*
I, like you enjoyed the show for what it was, and really hope that a Season 3 happens. I don't care how much people mald about it. I'm also tired of fans of the show being attacked by fans of the games tbh
Re: Amazon Prime as a "fantastic fit"..... I'm sure everyone who's paying attention understands just how short the automobile drive is from Amazon HQ to 343 Industries? If these two financial and story-shaping entities need to talk to each other and "get on the same page," they can literally go and talk to each other face to face.
I know 00 liked it. But personally IM GLAD.
Good.
I hope Netflix or Amazon prime buys it
I like the outlook of another provider, that knows how to cater to a fan base, picking it up at Halo CE.
Then have him say " Captain keys ?"
Have that very first intention be him asking that and they follow the books from there
First strike as there Bible
No excuses
This is why we think you'd do well at 343
I’ve been a Halo fan since the beginning, and I did appreciate a lot of the different changes to show to see how things could have gone if some odd changes were made. My only problem, and it was a big one for me, was Makee and all the problems she brought and was a part of. None of that made any sense to me.
I’m pretty sure that the guy that runs this channel is an actual spartan. why is he so huge ???
Imagine netflix pick it up 😭 117 is now a black lesbian woman. Cortana is now a disabled cat person and there's absolutely ZERO gun violence 😅
Don’t give them ideas lol
I think you mean Disney
And they'd turn him into a princess - of which rules the Mantle
I love how your only complaint of it is that you hate the idea of marginalized people being in it. Bro the current Halo Show already had black and female Spartans and a gay couple so they’ve already done that lol
@@ArouzedLampyeah truly terrible that Disney is promoting acceptance of oppressed people.
@@markricheard1870that's not even his complaint
At last the suffering and humiliation is over.
If somebody else picks this up they would do well to ignore season 1 and 2. It's a shame because Reach is an epic story and could have been unforgettable.
I loved the show! High hopes for its return
I for one loved the show. Was it perfect no, but nothing is. Hopefully netflix or Amazon or Hulu will pick it up.
Credibility is down the toilet for liking this show.
All these arrogant showrunners had to do was simply adapt the book Fall of Reach and they would've had the perfect first season for Halo. But no, they knew better...
Or at least CE & The Flood for a solid 4-5 episode 1 "Season" hit wonder of a show.
honestly i would just restart from season 1 and get hbo to make it as we have seen from HOTD and GOT that when they have enough source material they can make iconic shows and they are not afraid to go bloody and full of gore.
With the way the spartans are i see no point in continuing silver time line thou it had some good battles the rest was not for me.
But if they are going to reboot it again, be more in-line w the games, then yeah, seeing the PoA come out of slipspace seeing that Ring, will be awesome way to start it off.
if they rebooted it, I'd prefer telling a story from the books or a story we haven't really had yet, halo has it's own universe we could explore
