I am 42, and sometimes I agree, and sometimes I don't. But I love to watch you like you're my child (not in a weird/strange way). I just love your growth. I have kids 25 (boy), 23 (girl), 15 (boy), and 11 (girl). They all have some type of difficulty in life. Including me. From autism, depression, young parents, not fitting in, social anxiety, being different, learning disability. But watching you gives me faith as a mom that my kids can figure it out.
Now for Isha (sorry if I spelled that wrong). She seems like my 12 yr old girl in an older version. I am hoping that one day, she can connect with her and give her some inspiration. My daughter is a black girl in a majority white school. She always feels different from her peers. From the way she dresses to the way she talks and walks. But to her black community, she is a "white" girl. I am bi-racial, and my children are by a black man. But kids love all cultures. If I can have someone outside of me give her hope, I would appreciate it. She (my daughter) wants to be girlie but doesn't want to offend dad. I need a good role model for my 11 (yr old). My oldest daughter is just on a different page. Please give me advice.
hii i just wanted to say that you should tell your daughter to just always embrace who she is no matter who is around. she’s a human and has every right to express how she feels with her feelings or even with the way she dresses. always embrace her blackness in the majority white school but also outside of it too. don’t listen to what anyone on the outside thinks bc in the end their opinion doesn’t matter. i don’t think her dressing girlie should offend her father if she’s dressing appropriately for her age. it’s okay to dress girlie so hopefully he will understand that. i wish you and your daughter the best on y’all journey in life and continue to always be yourself and love yourself. 🫶🏽
@ishakirby thank you very much. To clarify a little better (because I was tipsy when I was typing last night), my youngest girl is starting to go through the stages all girls go through. She us a daddy's little girl, and they call each other twins. She was never really into girlie things, so now that she is starting to like perfume, dresses, etc, she is afraid that her and her dad won't have the same things in common. Does that make more sense? He will always love her for whoever she is and who she becomes in life. She just doesn't have a lot of friends, and her best friend is him (I am sometimes included), and she doesn't want that change. I know it won't, but she still has that fear.
