I've been watching Mai for years and my grandma found her over lockdown, and since my grandma discovered that I watch Mai every time I come over to her house she gets so excited to talk with me about the latest episode. Mia is so cool and I'm glad she brings me and my grandma closer.

I know I was bummed to not see that on the final reveal but I assume it was a super warm blanket, and since she told us it took 6+ months, it makes sense she had to get into something a bit lighter for the spring & summer. But I do wish she chose another bright & bold bedding look. But obv that doesn’t effect the drastic glow up of the room. Lol. Your room renovations always make me feel like ok, I can tackle my own projects I’ve been telling myself I’m not capable of doing….. so for that Thanks girl!
I remember when she got the cottage core quilt in Hawaii, so maybe it reminds her of her fun trip. I think she could make it work if the pillows were reworked. They super bright flower pillow really matched the previous colorful bedding well, and the very dark lumbar pillow somehow disrupts the bedding. But it’s her room so she should have what she wants. Just my two cents :)
hi mia!! just a little tip for next time you’re working on floors, sometimes the mallet can damage the wood, my dad uses a small wooden block over it and hits that instead of directly hitting the floor. just a little tip if you ever noticed them warping slightly from the mallet.
That wooden block is very helpful and doesn't damage the wood. I also just laid a wooden floor and this wooden block was a real lifesaver. I'm not to sure if you should have put away the baseboard while laying the floor. I did it and it was a lot easier. I love your eagerness to experience new things. Greetings from Switzerland!

I absolutely loved this video. I love all of Mia's videos, but this one really struck a cord with me. Watching Mia and Stuart creating their personal space in the house, makes me think of The Carpenters song "We've Only Just Begun". It's all about a young couple getting married, and starting their lives together. A beautiful song, for a beautiful couple.

It's all in the details! The door handles, the lemon pillow, the colorful bedspread. The floral pattern reminds me of the guestroom at my mom's in the 1970's, it was gorgeous. She did the hall/guest bath to match.😊
I can’t get over how respectful, responsible, and willing to try new things this woman is. I always know she’s willing to get things done herself but I’m always impressed with her ability to successfully try new tasks and learn how to do things most would be scared to do. Most TH-camrs are aloof and aren’t aware of how their bad decisions affect their followers but Mia is always aware of what she’s doing and what she’s putting on the internet and it shows. Thank you for putting out such awesome content and inspiring others and being so wholesome ❤
For anyone thinking of doing this flooring and may read this: it is good to do it in the direction Mia did it from a big wall to the closet as it gives you more practice cutting boards rather than doing the trickier closet ones at the beginning. Also good for if you can use scrap pieces towards the end of the project in the closet rather than having all those small scrap pieces visible along a long length of wall very out in the open

Thank you Mia for being SAFE while renovating! This is a PSA to WEAR A MASK WHILE RENOVATING!! I had an elderly neighbor (who was actually quite fit for her age) get terribly sick from ripping up and placing her own carpet. Then a friend's mom (early 30s) got sick from taking down a dead tree. Both got sick from a type of mold that got into their system/lungs and were visiting the hospitals often then leaving without an answer. At times we can't do all our own renovations but its very important to be safe rather than sorry.

For future reference it's much easier to install that floor by sliding the long side in, then backing it up to the edge of the board it's joining. Also there's a tool (like a plastic block) that makes it easier to pound it in with, hitting the boards with the mallet can chip them

ahh mia this came at the perfect time for me, i've been seriously considering re-painting my room (a light sage green haha) and doing maybe a mural of some trees on one wall, as well as changing out some furniture, and this gave me another nudge to just get started already! that closet door thing was super inspiring for me, i've also been designing a tile wall for our kitchen and thinking of changing the cabinets and handles, so those quartz handles gave me lots to think about with that, they're so beautiful! love how your room came out :)

I got engaged last summer and I haven't really been as excited as brides to be are. There are a few reasons: 1. We have been together for 16 years. 2. I never really thought about marriage. 3. Both of my parents have passed away. I checked from a small family and am an only child. I was my dad's caregiver for years. and now I do not have him to walk me down the aisle. My mom passed away when I was much younger. I realized that I do not have my mom to help me plan my wedding. She came from a family of seamstresses. They actually made the gowns and brides maids dresses for their children. Anyway, I really enjoy seeing the dynamic of your family. I also enjoy the videos where you prepare for the wedding. It makes me think about my own wedding. Your videos make me happy. Now the compliments for this room. You did an amazing job! I wish that I could've seen the closet door for a bit longer. I love how you took the time to make what you needed for the room. I'm also impressed with how well the flooring went. Great job!

I am an Interior Designer and I was a Construction Crew Leader that literally built houses. I was dying laughing watching her redo this bedroom. It came out beautifully, thank you for sharing the journey. I plan to redo my bedroom this month and will be sharing it on my channel.
Personally, I think it’s easier to take off the baseboards before laying the new foor, that way your cuts don’t have to be 100% perfect on the edges and there is no need for the rounds to finish it off. (Unless you wanted that look) Also, when your using the mallet to bang in the planks from the side grab a scrap block of wood and place it and bang the scrap block so you don’t damage the edge of your floor board. :)

Thank you Mia for being SAFE while renovating! This is a PSA to WEAR A MASK WHILE RENOVATING!! I had an elderly neighbor (who was actually quite fit for her age) get terribly sick from ripping up and placing her own carpet. Then a friend's mom (early 30s) got sick from taking down a dead tree. Both got sick from a type of mold that got into their system/lungs and were visiting the hospitals often then leaving without an answer. At times we can't do all our own renovations but its very important to be safe rather than sorry.

You have such an old school taste Mia; it’s pretty cool seeing you put together everything.
For future reference it's much easier to install that floor by sliding the long side in, then backing it up to the edge of the board it's joining. Also there's a tool (like a plastic block) that makes it easier to pound it in with, hitting the boards with the mallet can chip them

ahh mia this came at the perfect time for me, i've been seriously considering re-painting my room (a light sage green haha) and doing maybe a mural of some trees on one wall, as well as changing out some furniture, and this gave me another nudge to just get started already! that closet door thing was super inspiring for me, i've also been designing a tile wall for our kitchen and thinking of changing the cabinets and handles, so those quartz handles gave me lots to think about with that, they're so beautiful! love how your room came out :)
Mia you are such an inspiration for all of us out here! You motivate and inspire people around you, and you break barriers when it comes to what women are capable of. You show us that even as women we can do what we set our mind to and we can be strong and independent. You did all this with your own hands, you know how to use tools and you keep going when things get tough. I got engaged last summer and I haven't really been as excited as brides to be are. There are a few reasons: 1. We have been together for 16 years. 2. I never really thought about marriage. 3. Both of my parents have passed away. I checked from a small family and am an only child. I was my dad's caregiver for years. and now I do not have him to walk me down the aisle. My mom passed away when I was much younger. I realized that I do not have my mom to help me plan my wedding. She came from a family of seamstresses. They actually made the gowns and brides maids dresses for their children.
Anyway, I really enjoy seeing the dynamic of your family. I also enjoy the videos where you prepare for the wedding. It makes me think about my own wedding.

I loved the bed frame!!!🌻 Usually bed frames are quite expensive and not cute at all. This one is perfect!!!😍
Personally, I think it’s easier to take off the baseboards before laying the new foor, that way your cuts don’t have to be 100% perfect on the edges and there is no need for the rounds to finish it off. (Unless you wanted that look) Also, when your using the mallet to bang in the planks from the side grab a scrap block of wood and place it and bang the scrap block so you don’t damage the edge of your floor board. :)
