I honestly wish they'd bring back joinable knightly orders, always such a cool roleplay opportunity

yeah definitely one of the cooler features that was left out of future games. who knows, maybe they’ll make a comeback at some point.

I would love for them to give us all of Tamriel like in The Area, but I know that's a pipe dream.
I recently played Daggerfall for the first time. Still playing it. It is now my favorite Elder Scrolls game. My first Elder Scrolls game was Skyrim when I first released.
My 2 favorite Elder Scrolls is Daggerfall and Skyrim. Daggerfall and Morrowind feels similar mechanic wise, but Daggerfall is clearly superior.
Daggerfall and Skyrim both has the best examples of simulations within Elder Scrolls. Skyrim mainly because the NPCs actually does stuff. They are better than the NPCs in Starfield unfortunately. Daggerfall has a whole banking system, the Politics are great, the world doesn't form around you, you evolve to it as it changes, the game punishes you depending on who you join, making other factions unjoinable (something Bethesda games has been missing), and so much more. If you combine the best parts of Daggerfall, with the best of Skyrim, we would truly have a game that would never die. At all. Daggerfall is 27 years old and people are still playing and modding it. I want the same for the next Elder Scrolls on a massive map with all the various simulations working together.

I would not be surprised if TES 6 (if its indeed in the illiac bay region, so hammerfell + high rock) would give us a few rivalling knightly orders to join in the veign of Imperials VS Stormcloaks.

That would be a really neat addition, though I think it would be more focused against the thalmor (if they are still the main enemy) instead of fighting each other.
I think a few quest lines for flavor would be cool. Like in oblivion you can be a knight of the white stallion and knight of the thorn even though it doesn’t really do anything.

Always liked how exotic the Welkynars were, and I also never knew there were THAT many guilds in Daggerfall.

I had forgotten just how many guilds exist in the lore, lots of opportunity seemingly left on the table in the modern day. I feel like the Bard's College was a bit of a callback to the days of Daggerfall, just a little hint of a group that wasn't just warriors, wizards, or rogues; trying to celebrate their holiday. I would love to see the more obscure guilds make a comeback! Also, great job on the presentation, the mixing of ESO, Legends, and concept art was really seamless and I had never seen a lot of those pieces before. The mounted Imperial commander and high res pile of septims particularly stood out to me as really nice works.

Thank you! Yeah, I also hope Bethesda does more with the guilds in future games.

I wonder what skills you'd need to use for an Order of the Lamp playthrough in Morrowind.
