I would like to see the events shot in the woods. The open targets on the ski run are ok however, the interesting stuff is in the woods. Barebow events are the most interesting. There are so many Compound events, lets see more Barebow events!
The rules allow a max. of 60 lbs. So they have usually a liitle bit over 59 lbs. You don't wanna be disqualified only because the scale of the judges are different calibrated. The speed of the bows are not limited. But the target compounds are typically a little bit slower to be more precise (compared to a hunting rig). So about 270 to 290 fps. In case you thought about the stabilizers... I read that Mike uses up to 30 oz on his front rod.
The finals are known. The qualification rounds are half known and half not. I would hardly call it “just” target archery. The inclines in all directions make it a completely different prospect.

We archers go on field to have the feeling outside and shoot from different positions and angles…not to loose our arrows! not to simulate everytime a first shot that we have to break up 👀 Wake up!
