    I have that same raggedy vanity and also brought it back to life! I used peel and stick tile for the bottom and now is just wipe clean! Love it!

    Thank you for reusing materials. Lots of people demo cabinets in pieces. I, for one, could use cabinet boxes that I can build different storage furniture. And I know more people could too. And your upcycle is beautiful.

    my "found price" was an examination table thrown out by the Eye Doctor in the building I worked at. I took it home even though the glass top was missing. I cleaned, stripped and painted it. Then went to the kitchen remodel shop in my neighborhood to get a remnant piece of countertop. My preteen had desk/ craft table to last her until she left for college. Her room also had the baby chest my parents handed down to her painted to coordinate with the desk.

    We purchased an oak dresser that was painted an ugly dark brown. After stripping and refinishing , it is beautiful.

    I have a hand build cupboard circa 1940 made from red oak with a bird's eye maple top. Even has a vintage coffee grinder on the side! Just sanded, reinforced the weakened corners, repaired the split top, and cleared the whole cabinet. Just need to save up some $ to replace the broken invisible hinges for the doors.

    I found a small dresser/stand in the trash at work It had dated cheap hardware and was a dull medium brown. I decided to make it look like a piece of antique Chinese furniture I painted it in three stages, first black, then gold on all the edges, and then red all over, but I rubbed the red off along all the edges so it looked like it was worn off on the edges. Then I painted gold butterflies on the top and doors and added black metal Asian hardware. I got a Chinese newspaper in Chinatown and wallpapered the inside. I love how it turned out.

    I grew up with this huge over a hundred year old mirror. The frame was cracked, with all kinds of damage. I sanded it smooth and buttery, used the antiquing style painting. Now my daughter uses it everyday!

    I bought a moldy smelling, serpentine front, chest of drawers. After stripping it, soap and water, vinegar, baking soda, kitty litter, wadded up newspaper finally got rid of the hideous smell. Underneath was curly maple.

    I just binged watch every video😂😅 I couldn't stop watching😁 I love how the house turned into a beautiful home 🏡 congratulations on your hard work 😍 I look forward to doing something like this hopefully sooner than later 🤷 Was wondering if this home sold yet? And another thing we have never ever flipped a home ,but are looking forward to new journeys and making memories ,my husband help build his mom's family room and her master bedroom ,so he has some experience at least, I'll admit it seems very overwhelming ,but what the heck may as well get your hands dirty and learn new things ,with the attitude that you can literally do all things through Jesus. 💕 never give up and never doubt your self ,because when you do that you fail yourself!! Cheers to you all for such a beautiful accomplishment 😊 I'll definitely be taking advantage to your video's and others on TH-cam to help us accomplish and learn new things 😍 thank you for sharing 😍😘

    'Withhold the test of time" r u kidding??? Off i would be pissed if i was buying that house.. .. u can see how damaged mdf is at the bottom and its going to continue to deteriorate putting wood strips on the sides does nothing but hide the damage on the outside meanwhile on the underside the mdf will continue to swell bc it's in the most humid room in the house..#halfass

    • @DIYdesignerduo
      @DIYdesignerduo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We rebraced around the bottom of the vanity with 2x4s so the mdf won’t break over time..
      if you checkout our series this is the basement bathroom and this vanity is very sturdy 😊

    • @Loves2troutfish
      @Loves2troutfish ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why didn't you just cut a new piece of mdf? They're not extremely expensive. The price has gone up but seems only slightly more expensive.

    • @MsBioticGod
      @MsBioticGod 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Loves2troutfishbecause that means she would have to spend more money and do things right. This is why people hate buying from flippers because of the amount of half-ass-ness that goes into it. 😂😂😂

    Years ago I saw that a neighbor who I did not know 'cause they lived around on another street, put a complete outdoor furniture dining set. It was metal with a thick glass top that was not cracked or scratched. I took it to bare metal, primed it, painted it all white and reupholstered it with black vinyl. The back of the chairs has ornate vines with leaves which I hand painted gold! When we moved I sold it for $175.00.

    I found a old wood panel door on the side of the road and gave it a destressed paint job hung it sideways on my wall and it’s now my headboard. I later found out the door had been handmade and can from a 150 year old farmhouse.

    I saved a dresser my neighbor left of the curb, it had been painted at least twice and some kid had carved all sorts of profanities anarchy symbols and death threats into the wood, after fixing the drawers and wood filling and sanding any and all of the carvings I use spray paint and then milk paint to give it a cute farmhouse look and even painted the existing hardware and then sold the piece for $250 when we were done using it.

    • @Loves2troutfish
      @Loves2troutfish ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly what I was thinking. Its fine to do things like this to your own home but this is trickery. Someone believes they have a new sink & cabinet but they have water damage. Hopefully no mold.

  • @spacecadetsmiley
    @spacecadetsmiley ปีที่แล้ว

    Covering water damage with cosmetic fix, definitely a house flipper. Wonder what other water damage is disguised in that house rather than fixed. For them it’s a business to squeeze every dime out for the buyer its the money pit that will drain away their life savings and expose them to mold.😢
