    Great video! At the time of this posting, I just got the Ravager Thor arms attached to the armored Thor torso.
    The RT shoulder pegs will not fit no matter how much you heat the plastic. I cannot stress enough how important the trimming of the shoulder pegs is to the process. I got lucky and trimmed just enough. Trim too much and you've wasted a figure for nothing. Good luck everyone!

      Thanks so much! Yeah I tried pretty hard to jam the arms in without cutting(besides the little black square), but it just would NOT go in until I cut them up. It was nerve wracking for sure especially since I had literally never done it before making that video!

    I also did this. I took the gauntlets off too but that was alot more work lol I had to dremel through where you pop the hands in and keep getting them hot so the glue would melt. Be careful because it will melt the plastic if you dremel for too long.

    • @ComicallyToys

      Yep I've had some different advice on the gauntlets. I'm going to try to keep it as simple as possible and hopefully it all works out!

  • @bcfowler82
    @bcfowler82 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Like your vids. Nice work. But for the arm swap try reversing it. You want to heat up the torso of armored thor and keep the arm pegs cool and ridged. That way the plastic of the torso will conform to the peg of the arms and you get a nice fit. Probably still have to trim the peg down though. I'll be doing this soon. Waiting on the figs to drop in price a bit though.

  • @RandomHero_85
    @RandomHero_85 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah I didn't need to crack it, just used pliers to pull the arms at the shoulder, easier to grip than using a towel

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice! I was worried about using pliers to pull as I didn't want to break the arms (or damage them) in an unfixable way since I was doing this for the first time. I figured cracking the torso was fine since it likely wouldn't be super usable without the arms afterwards too anyway.

    Should have heated the socket rather than the arm. It still needed trimmed though. Or you could dremel out the socket. Good job. I’m working on one as well. Thanks for the info.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually did try heating the socket separately as well, but the black insert is made either of a different kind of plastic or just made differently such that it won't get soft enough to be pulled out. That's why I ended up just cracking it open. Let me know how yours goes!

    • @jediknutt620
      @jediknutt620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ComicallyToys I’m sorry, I meant heating the socket on armored Thor to insert the bare arms. I had to crack the torso on Ravager Thor also. I didn’t trim the pegs on the bare arms. I dremelled out the socket a little on armored Thor, then heated the socket and the bare arms popped right on.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that makes more sense! That's an interesting method too, but since it's dremeled out now, does that mean the original arms can't go in anymore?

      @@ComicallyToys They can, but they won’t. Lol. That was way more work than I intended to do. I had seen another tutorial that made it seem like it was a very simple arm swap. It’s definitely not.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      TOTALLY! I originally thought it was going to be a simple pop and swap because like a dumb dumb I assumed Hasbro would be redesigning all of their new/current figures to have similar engineering, but I spent like 20 minutes off camera trying to get the darn arms off until I gave up and cracked open that torso haha!

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, that's a super fun idea! Secondly, Were you thinking to reuse the arms somewhere else? If not then you could just go the destructive route to get them out of there like with a rotary tool. Thirdly, Are you really hard set on using the lab coat from Reed? Would you be open to using a soft good? I only ask because if you use a soft good then you'll have the versatility of putting it on and removing as you see fit, plus it'll have some level of posability that the official version won't have. Here's one I found on ebay(no affiliation, just the first one I found) that would work well. If the soft goods is a no go(which is perfectly fine! everyone's way of collecting and modding is valid) then let me know! I'm gonna actually snag an KO Spidey myself now too!

      @@ComicallyToys I'd like to keep the arms intact in case I change the display later. I'm not sure about the soft woods, I think the plastic labcoat and arms looks cool.

      And I hear ya. The lab coat arms do look nice. I guess I'm just unsure how "swappable" the arms will be once you do get them out, but hey sounds like another fun experiment and video for me to try! Hopefully my AliExpress order doesn't take too long. I'm betting the body will need to be cracked and we can probably shape the arms in a way to make them "swappable" if that makes sense.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So armored Thor's arms are actually a good bit smaller than Ravager Thor. And I think Star Lords arms are close to armored Thor's arm size. Which basically means I think it may look a little weird because of the way they designed Ravager Thor's body being pretty big. I'll see if I can pop and swap the arms from Star Lord though.
