The current models were a BIG step backward, with piano black everywhere and a much smaller boot. This one looks nice and if it’s decent off-road, I might get one. But man is it expensive. Epower is good enough for usual country road ,but it can't deal with some dirty or mud conditions. Electric motor is a easy way to offer power for rear drive shaft, but the power can't be distributed. Epower has to lose 50% of its rear motor torque.
After all, the rear tire could only get 25% of MAX system torque to get out the situation.

Interesting to get some torque facts, but its a rather complicated system just to generate electricity. I wonder about the warranty after 3 years on those electric components, an inverter and batteries. As for price the spec is great, and for the same spec on a Mercedes you pay £63,000 UK Sterling for the same specification and I think less off road capability. So all in all this car should be flying out the showrooms. Just so complicated for long term diving. A good old diesel is good for 200,000 miles and some if well looked after. I have driven this model BTW, and think its great. I own a Mercedes Diesel GLC and its a close run thing to make the swop.

It's disappointing that we are not getting the 1.5 litre turbo that is the standard motor in the USA. it's got 300Nm of torque and shouldn't have the same question marks over long term ownership costs.

I don't know but turbo engine combined with electric would not be a great idea, NA engine might better instead , it's a nice video though.

Id take this as it has a true AWD system while still being a hybrid.

20” wheels and 19” wheels and no spare or space for spare in hybrid.
Really hard to buy such large tyres outside major cities. Hopefully the Nissan Patrol version will have sensible sized wheels 17” would be good, even 18” sort of Ok plus of course a full sized spare tyre.
The fuel tank also should be a lot large comparable to in size to Toyota LC 200 (138l) or the current Nissan Patrol to give decent range in regional Australia. Needs at least 1000+km range and 500+km range when towing 3.5t.
If those two things happen and the hybrid available as option is across the range not just most expensive models in “Toorak Tractors”. They will sell heaps especially to grey nomads, mining companies and people in regions. A large comfortable 4WD with lots of power when needed and good economy when cruising sounds great.
It is good to note the petrol engine runs fine on 91 Octane petrol which is OPAL fuel Octane rating and can also handle 98 Octane (with more $ and better performance) solves the which petrol can I buy in remote areas.

The only problem with this test is that the course was created by Nissan, so it would have been made for that car.

Pricing of X Trail E Force in comparison to QASHQAI allowing $4,000 for E Power makes the X Trail with 4 WD better value.

Ditched my Rav 4 order and get the Ti epower in Orange. The test drive convinces me with ride and build quality, smooth acceleration and load of space inside the cabin. Oh that active noise cancelling feature is a gun!🫡

Does owning a hybrid means you have to pay the maintenance cost of ICE parts + batteries ?
Wouldn’t parts be expensive for hybrids.
