The members of The Unicorn Society of Lake Superior State College were language purists. They believed in prescribing language use. Every year they made a 'dishonor list' of words. In 1978 they made a distinction between two scientific terms and dishonored the word 'medication'. Stating "We can no longer afford it. It's too expensive. We've got to get back to the cheaper 'medicine' They certainly recognized the change in meaning :-)
