There is a reason players used to want to run through brick walls for him... Now however he has changed. Perhaps it is living away from his wife for so long or being treated the way he way by the real madrid players/fans or maybe he has just become more tired and worn out than he realises but he has become bitter over the years. People seem to forget that not only was mourinho a fantastic motivator of players but he was always brilliant at identifying the correct players to sign. He brought essien, drogba, carvalho, ferreira and robben in during his first spell at chelsea and Militio, eto'o, lucio and sneijder in for inter Milan. For anyone over the age of 25 that has followed football from a young age this is the mourninho we remember, this is why he has been given a little bit more rope time and time again ivee the course of the past 8 years from fans and chairmen. Because he was truly special. Ive never supported any of the teams he has managed, in fact a couple of them have been my teams direct rivals lol but I hope he can recapture his youth someday as a manager because it would ultimately be a good thing for football.

As for how Arsenal didn’t win a CL, I think 03-04 was your year but I recall Wenger has since indirectly admitted he underestimated Ranieri’s chelsea and didn’t rest players before the CL match against Chelsea in 03-04.
