Having won the Uefa Cup the previous season, Jose Mourinho guided Porto to even more European glory when they won the 2003/04 Champions League. The final against Monaco would be Mourinho's last game as Porto manager as he left shortly after their triumph to join Chelsea.

Jose winning the league with spurs 😍
The island (isle of wight) cat story that featured in a segment of Soccer Saturday? I can't remember the story exactly, but Jeff and the boys were in absolute hysterics! Can't find it anywhere!
Any of Jose at Chelsea the first time around?
Sometimes you forget what he has achieved winning the champions league with porto incredible..
You mean with the Portuguese National Team that placed runners up in the Euro that year? Only two players missing was Figo and a 19 year old Ronaldo. People make too big of a deal about it. Most overrated coach of all time.
* Update Edit* To all the butthurt losers. read my latest comment 😂
Powerwheelz keep hating bro. He won treble with inter Milan. The only Italian team to win treble and the last Italian team to win champions league. Even Juventus with Ronaldo couldn’t win
@@CorfuGainz For 10 years he was the best manager in the world. With all he's won already, he has nothing to prove now. Least of all, to you.

Oliver weird argument since Juve with Ronaldo aren’t actually that good.
His english was almost better before he went to England..
I am thinking the same
@Iván Moreno What years of stress can do to you.
He was coach and translator for Bobby Robson at Barcelona.
Omg no kidding there
I think it's because since then he moved to England, Italy and then Spain. Learning even more languages has an effect on the ones you already know
What a Champions League season that was:
Porto with Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira defeated Man Utd
Deportivo defeated Juventus and AC Milan
Monaco with Giuly, Morientes, Evra defeated Real Madrid
The final of underdogs.
What's more amazing was that there was 3 teams in the final
Greece won the Euro's in that year too!
Wasn't Adebayor part of that monaco team as well? Mostly bench player but I think it was that year right?
Imagine if it was Lyon vs RB Leipzig in the final there would be like 2 viewers
the next season was the true story of the underdog.
Liverpool beating Juventus, Jose's Chelsea and Carlo's AC Milan to become champions of Europe once again !!!

@@yogeshmathpati1472 I sink so, I sink so
The way he smiled when the reporter asked if he could see himself taking over at Chelsea, my money is on him going to Chelsea. With Chelsea's newly acquired wealth, he could help the club win their first title in 50 years in his first season. He is that good.
Seems like a good manager.. but I don’t think he‘d fit in England
That arrogance might go back to bite him in the future
Got to admire how honest this interview is.
ufoools you’d never see this nowadays
The British press are usually feared. He didn't fear them and they set out to destroy him
Reporter: "Who is better between Pep and Mourinho?"
Eto'o: "I can't compare them. Mourinho won the champions league with Porto and Pep couldn't win it with Bayern."
Good comment .......
Dumb comment because despite winning it with Porto, Mourinho couldnt win it with Chelsea, Real Madrid or Man Utd.
It's really a fickle comment, Pep didnt win it with Bayern but he won it twice with Barcelona.
Comb In His Headpiece I think the point was it’s a diverse way . There’s a lot of things that you can’t put a finger on because of the facts presented to you . I think that’s what the fellas point was ....
@@combinhisheadpiece6717 that's the point mate , pepé's barca had prime Iniesta and Xavi along with superstars like Ibrahimovic, Henry and Messi.
While Mourinho didn't.
@@parzivalop6743 Mourinho had Deco, Carvalho, Queresma, wasn't your ordinary Porto team either, nor was it your ordinary Champions league campaign. It's easy to say who Pep had but the only time Barca won after he left was when Barcelona assembled a front of Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
It's a dumb, fickle argument.
Let's not forget people have called that one of the best teams of all time, not exclusively because of personnel, but their tactics and the exciting way in which they played the game.
One of the greatest managers in the history of football. Love this guy!

Man city got sterling ruining everything pep planned
@neuron no , not true. Teams like spurs and Ajax reached the semi finals. Lyon, red star Belgrade if I’m not mistaken, Roma . Smaller teams still go far in Europe. You have just got to respect this guy...With all the pressure at the time, was just developing as a worldclass Manager to reckon with...To do what he did in his first stint in England was absolutely incredible...Gave birth to whole new bloke that will go on to become an unassailable force in the Premier league even till today shattering records upon records and nullifying the dominance of Man U and Arsenal...Jose Mourinho went on to redefine English football with that his incredible Chelsea team etching his name into the folklore of the truly greatest managers of all time...Many Coaches in his shoes at the time would have choked under pressure.. .Respect to this guy mehn!
I will always rate his UCL with Porto as his biggest achievement ever. A squad worth 10M. Went on to win the biggest prize in football. He made those Portugal players lives. Benni Mcarthy a South African striker was made a beast under him Deco raised his levels Maniche ran the show in mid. Raised tempos of Carvahlo and Paulo ferrera then brought them to Chelsea. You can hate this guy for Xyz reasons but his achievements will always live forever. He deserved to manage better and expensive squads after this feat. Sadly he is a shadow of what he was but will always remain in footballing brains like love him or hate him but can't ignore him.
And yes I am a Inter Fan.🙂

I m not his biggest fan but he has won a lot no one can take that away from him and one thing Jose has never shied away from saying is he loves our country, he loves England and i remember him saying his home is in London even when he was Real Madrid manager he used to say my family still lives back home in London.
