1st car was a torch red auto V6 2008 mustang. I’ve been lusting after an 05-09 gt500 for so long and might have to pull the trigger on one in the near future.
Better to buy new one.. the 460 hp on 2020 and up are underrated and closer to 500 hp and also more power to rear tires. The 500 hp ratings on these older gt500s are mostly to the crank. Plus 10speed is no contest.
Realize I’m a year late but congrats. Picked up a Challenger SRT8 in June and I love it. GT500 in that year range is next. Unfortunately when searching for GT500 anything low miles in this body style is obscene price.
Great color. You are lucky. Just bought a 07 in blue/white stripes at 17K miles and first thing would be replacing the clutch with dual and 1 piece driveshaft.
Good buy I have one the same color it's an 09 with 37k miles, mine came with all the major mods, right now I'm changing the front suspenion to tubular from BMR.
I just picked up a 2007 GT 500 white with blue stripes. Only 1000 original unmolested miles. Carroll shelby original signature on the dash. I plan to drive it to shows and a little "spirited driving"

Mine is an 08 looks just like yours. 21.5k mileage. Bone stock other than jlt cans and slp all-black. My cars gas pedal gets stuck sometimes and won't release up to serious frightening speeds. Idk what could cause it bc its not the matt.

Great pickup. I have the same year and color. I have the vmp gen 2r 850 kit on it. Its a blast. First mod to get is a set of tires. The stock ones are crap. I put on some mickey Thompson drag radials. Night and day difference
I had one pre-ordered in 2006 and the dealer screwed me over by putting it up to the highest bidder and I never got around to buying one since then but I am planning on it later this year finally. thing is that Eaton supercharger is really small it's not much bigger than an m90 it sounds like my old m90 roush. The M112 is only 1.8l. one of the first things I'm going to do is put in a 2.9l Kenny Bell which looks similar to stock, and a few other things. I check your channel to see what you did with it.

@@automotiveantics I am curious what you paid.Tasca had his dealership put over 25grand of Ford racing parts into my gt500 and combined with having just 2thousand miles on the car.I payed 55grand and I think that is a great price considering how much money was put into the car.Normally I wouldn't touch a car with all the mods that been added to the car.But being owner's car and it being Tasca you know they did a great job on the bosses car.It has the Ford racing TVS blower full suspension tires rims.It has it all.I asked him why didn't you just super snake it.He wanted a sleeper with 850hp.My neighbor found out the hard way with his Lamborghini trying to race me.He got smoked and he wasn't happy.
I have one of these for sale / trade. 08 basic mods, tuned 555hp and 565 torque at wheels, very fun 68k miles. not willing to part with at all unless price it well over blue book or trade is something im interested in.
Price on these unfortunately are on a decline. I would expect somewhere in the low 20's for one like yours. If your looking to get top dollar I would sit on it for a while
I got my 07 gt500 with some key tasteful mods already on it that i woulda wanted to do anyways...offroad h, borla stingers, 4.10s, mgw shifter, twin disc clutch, 2.6 pulley, twin 65 cj tbody, jlt 123 cold air, custom tuned to 550 whp at pro dyno in south carolina by the previous owner. It is insane what 120+ rwhp and a switch to more aggressive gearing does for traction (literally makes street tires useless lol)....i seen you kick it and hit 2nd and the car just barked them hard....1st and 2nd were both useless in mine before i put on 305/45/17 et streets. I can now get traction similar to how you did in this video...it will hook in 1st just stabbing it from a rolling start with 30 psi in them on a hot road with no warmup to the tires and it will spin 2nd and kick the ass out just a tad but it is literally night and day from the 275/35/20 nitto street tires that the car had on it when i bought it. Its insane just how much a few simple mods can do to these gt500s ecspecially these early ones that were more restricted from the factory (but just as good once modded).
Congrats on your GT500! I plan on doing many of those mods myself. I also think it's a good idea to get an upgraded heat exchanger for those hot summer months
@@automotiveantics the vmp heat exchanger is next on my to do list that and a 1 piece driveshaft because with my power level, 4.10 gears and 305 mickey's the 2 piece driveshaft is now the weak link in the driveline.
GT500'S come stock with the supercharger. But if your installing one on another car, no its not necessary, you just can't run as much boost as you could with forged internals
It pains me that you sold this car. I have been on the grind and hunt to put my ducks in a row to get me a good condition GT500, and I almost don’t care what year at this point as long as mechanically and cosmetically its clean.
I have an 07, don’t race it but I decided to launch it and wen I launched it the car made a big pop noise and I notice that I the dash it said traction control on I’ve launched it twice and both times it made a bug pop noise, is it because if the traction control kicked in ? Let me know if that has happened to your car too
There's a lot over overtravel in each gear, not to mention side to side play. Just isn't confidence inspiring. I actually cut the handle down about 3/4" and replaced the stock shifter knob with a weighted ball and it made it big difference. Much better
@seantaylor4533 no I'm not the original owner. But if you don't believe me you can look up the options for these cars. The radio and LED headlights were the only 2 options I believe
I have a 2008 with the optional shaker 1000. That head unit looks like a later generation. I’ve never seen one before in a 2008. HID headlights and leather dash were options too. I don’t think LEDs were even offered by Ford in 2008 on any vehicle. Thanks for your reply

Everyone has different ways of enjoying a car. Some let it sit in a garage and stare at it and some like to drive it and enjoy it for what it was built for. Them to their own😊

@@larryz3985these were very restricted stock and had very long gearing. Traction is also an issue on stock tires. Once you have basic mods like intake midpipe pulley tune etc you can smoke even bolt on newer mustangs. When my 07 was on stock blower with just bolt ons I torched a 2019 5.0 intake, exhaust Lund 93 tune it was a 10 speed auto too. When I say torched I'm talking 5+ cars from 30-130. They might not seem like much bone stock but they wake up with mods. I now have a gen3r blower swap and it did 740/732 rwhp/rwtq. I have lightened mine to about 3700 lbs too so it's pretty damn fast.

They might not seem like much bone stock but they wake up with mods. I now have a gen3r blower swap and it did 740/732 rwhp/rwtq. I have lightened mine to about 3700 lbs too so it's pretty damn fast.
