- Frontier have just released the first set of Pre-Built ships on the Frontier Store. These ships are available for ARX, aka real money. So what are they like?
This review will take a look at the Laser Mining Jumpstart Type-6. Frontier promises that this ship will help you "begin your road to riches". We'll take a look at the modules and test the ship in it's advertised role to see if this claim is accurate and if these new ships are really pay to win.

You definitely don't wanna remove the surface scanner unless you already know where your hotspost are.
Seems like the engineered mining lasers may be a little overcooked (I think it's specifically the incendiary experimental mod) as the ship doesn't seem to handle tripling the thermal load all that well.
Point defense is invaluable for a miner/cargo hauler. They are a very effective counter to hatch breakers.
Pulse Wave is not for laser mining, that's for finding core asteroids.
AspX would be far better as it can have size 2 mining lasers and can have core mining gear equipped. Pulse Wave, Seismic Charges, Abrasion Blaster.
I find point defense largely useless, but that's a subjective choice on my part. The pulse wave scanner, however is not just for finding core asteroids. It can also help you differentiate the density of an asteroids deposits as well as what kind they are in addition to showing you a mother lode core asteroid.
After boring using T7 Trans as trader, I will go back to mining. But I will bring 3 limpet controllers. So it will be more faster. And sacrifice shield slot. 288T will be enough for all day long. And bring 200 limpets.
