I was convinced by my old injector to get threads in my smile lines....it was horribly painful, and it hurt for like 2 months everytime I spoke and smiled....when the swelling went down it literally made no difference at all. Was speaking with an aesthetic doctor years later who told me threads shouldn't be used in that area as it won't do anything 🫠 it was an expensive, painful and pointless experience
Your content reminds me of the negative sides of beauty obsession. Your info helps me realize even with my body dysmorphia, it’s not always worth damaging your body for a “better looking” body. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONEST & POSITIVE CONTENT 🖤
I use to be an intravenous drug user, I am now 13 years clean. I become faint and panicked when I need blood taken for labs now. I also woke up during a gastrointestinal surgery once and the entire idea of this makes my body recoil. Feeling someone shove things in your body is by far the thing that makes me shudder the most.
That's wonderful!! I was too and I have been free for 17 years 🎉 Life is good, I certainly won't be doing this crazy thing to my face... I'm grateful every single day for the wonderful life I have and I am happy to age naturally 💞
Waking up during abdominal surgery is terrible! If you’re a redhead you likely have a gene modifying your pain tolerance which means you need much more anesthesia to stay under. ❤
Honestly, I would rather age like a grape, eventually turn into an actual raisin and have a lovable character than end up with bumpy scars or weird 'thread horns' and possibly live in constant pain for literally no reason. 😵💫
Exactly! People that live in pain and discomfort daily due to health reasons know you'd never risk being uncomfortable recreationally. I'm always trying to convince myself NOT TO GET SOMETHING DONE rather than convincing myself it's a good idea....
Same. I turn 37 in 2 weeks and I'm just letting my face age the way it's supposed to. There is no way I'm letting someone put crap in my face. It's ridiculous. If someone doesn't like me cuz I am starting to look a bit tired, then so flipping be it. We should be lucky we r even alive to age, cuz alot of people don't have the opportunity to get old.
I wish our country wasn't so obsessed with anti-aging and looking "young" at any cost (physical/mental/monetary/etc.) But i guess being happy with your natural body and looks doesn't sell any products/procedures, yay for livung in a for-profit world >n

Right. I got too many problems and have had way too many surgeries- I have seizures too and brain trauma. I might not like the way I look entirely. But you could not pay me to do this shite. I don’t know if any of these people are aware how painful SCAR TISSUE can be. It never stops. If you hit old scars it will more than likely hurt. I have scars that still hurt to be agitated that are FOURTEEN YEARS OLD. It doesn’t stop. And the skin on your head is not thick. I can’t let anyone else brush my hair because it’s so painful. You are creating tiny amounts of scar tissue doing this. No thanks
I’m 22 and so grateful you make these videos you’ve turned me off from multiple surgery i was considering because this information isn’t readily available to everyone especially given all the positive videos of ppl being like you totally need to do this bc it worked out for me
Hey Lael love your content. I've always felt like I need to do all these facial procedures to achieve a more beautiful look and feel pretty. But cause of you and the content you share you've helped me to accept and love myself.❤
I really wanted these back in 2022. As was required, I sent a photo to Snatched LA (as they were called at the time). They told me I wasn’t a candidate for PDO threads because of my heavier eyelids. My feelings were hurt, because I really wanted my brows to be a little higher at the tails. I now thank God I wasn’t a candidate for it.
Just accept your natural face! For the love of God. Unless you have an unfortunate injury, of course, or a deformity. Just work out, eat healthy, keep good hygiene, be a good person. That's what a beautiful person looks like.
Scar. Tissue. Never. Stops. Hurting. Especially on thin skin like your face. I have 14 year old scars from brain surgery on my scalp and they still hurt. I cannot tolerate getting my hair done by someone else. I cried when my mom had my hair done for prom because just the woman brushing my head was so painful. I was 18. My surgeries had been done when I was 12. I don’t think people are thinking this through. You are creating PERMANENT scar tissue. For a procedure that only lasts 3-6 months? Are yall ok? Are yall doing ANY research? Are you remotely aware of what happens when you agitate your muscles and skin like that? Imagine you develop a lot of it and now it hurts to simply wash your face. Get a facial. Put on makeup. Is it worth it now?
Had a tumor removed last year they had to dissect my whole fucking face I cant smile like I use to My jaw hurts when I eat and I cant feel my left ear Totally agree with you
@@meaculpa22 I hope you see more recovery. :( It took me around a year for my ears to go back to normal and stop being numb. Long after the incisions themselves healed. It’s a shocking comparison between those of us who were forced to go through that trauma and those that chose to put their body through that. I can’t imagine. I mean I’m not going to be nasty to someone who has had work done. It’s just evident that they don’t do any sort of research before doing these things and wreck their lives instead of doing a risk assessment. I can’t imagine how you feel bc most of my scarring is on my scalp. I would never wish that pain on anyone. We have already learned the hard way without any choice.

I'll admit I'm an old person, but over the last several years it seems so many ( mostly women) have gone through so many different procedures just to end up looking like they stepped out of a flying saucer.

Thanks so much for posting such a video. You're a lifesaver. I was considering getting a non-surgical rhinoplasty with threads thinking that if I'm not happy with the results, it will just return to my natural nose after 6 months to a year. I'll start loving the natural, bicycle seat nose I was given.
Bro. I’ve worked in medicine (for animals) and I’ve seen some things.. think yorkie with its face hanging on by a thread from a dog attack.. But this is BRUTAL. **yorkie was peachy keen. Just lost an ear and an eye**
We are looking at our faces way too much. I think our brains were made to analyze other people´s faces, so we don´t really recognize our reflexion as ourselves and would just rather see a good looking stranger, much like cats fight with mirrors. So we are not doing this changes for ourselves, we are doing it to our body to make the stranger look better so we like seeing that person on the mirror. Else we just do it so other people tell us we are good looking.
Exactly, I think it's becoming unhealthy at this point. When I start getting too critical of my reflection I try to take a break from mirrors for a while 😂 Like I'm healthy and alive, there's nothing to stress about!
I sometimes think that people with normal faces and wrinkles will be seen as special and different becos everyone is getting g somthing done to thier faces
Yeeeeessss! another high energy, hot tea spill with Lael to make a perfect Saturday!! Also you have covered every body mod topic I’m fascinated with and you are finally touching on the trend I hyper focused on the most when I was going down the influencer plastic surgery rabbit holes!! LOVE YA🫡
A few months ago I had a minor surgery to remove an out of control pimple, it only required two stitches....and it still got complications. As careful as I was to have proper hygiene it got a bit infected, and had to cover it and put on a cream 3 times a day. I have a very sensitive skin and the glue of the bandage gave me a huge allergic reaction, so everytime I had a cure session it was a living hell for me to take it off, it hurt so much.... and everytime I moved the arms the stitches pulled the skin so bad, so if a little removable thread from a health intervention gave me so much trouble I can't imagine what these could do to me, nope. I much rather have a saggy healthy face when I get old than damaging my skin like that. I choose to be an adorable little old lady when it happens, old people are so cute and we forget that :')
I love your videos and how you are such a champion for natural beauty!! That being said, idk if i can do this vid. Hearing about this very bizarre treatment is making me feel a little 🤢. I just want to send love to everyone and comment for the algorithm before i respectfully see myself out!
Love you angel! Thank you for being here! ❤️ We all have insecurities but plastic surgery is almost never the answer. We should learn to love ourselves for our individuality instead of trying to all look the same ❤️
Did they say polyester? As in marching band uniform polyester? As in the polyester that was dyed vivid colors before being used to make 70s fashion look like it did? Is THAT what's being used??? And then there's barbs on the end of them to anchor them in place? OH, HELL NAW! Like I said during the facelift video, when I was a litle kid, I watched a Star Trek: TNG movie that had the Big Bad doing something similar and guess what? THEY USED IT TO MURDER THEIR GREEDY DOUBLE AGENT ADMIRAL! Who's to say that a similar thing won't accidentally happen during this procedure? It costs up to a Band a thread and they don't even sedate you for it??? I was awake for some of the injections used to tame the overactive nerves in my spine/ribcage due to my Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. It was NOT a pleasant experience! I trust my surgeons and their teams implicitly but I was still TERRIFIED. After going through that, I'll never complain about having to fast before sedation ever again! I already have permanent scars on my face from my cystic acne, I don't want anymore! Guys, unless it's for your quality of life (i.e. fixing a cleft lip or a deviated septum...) or it's after a Grey's Anatomy level accident, please don't mess with your face. PLEASE. Use your money for something better. Use it to pay your bills, go to school, and to have fun. You are not ugly. You're beautiful and you have the face of your ancestors. You have the face of your parents and that's fucking dope! Aging isn't a curse, it's a blessing. Aging means that you're still here. Having things like laugh lines and wrinkles and gray hair shows a life fully lived. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Thank you for making this video was seriously thinking of doing this after seeing that one girl in the beginning of the video(podcast) making a blog about it. ALSO YOUR FILLER video thank you for shining a light on this
Undergoing such medical procedure like face lift is so scary. Seeing this as a young person then remembering it when I'm older makes me never wanna hear about it ever 😂😂
Girls, save your faces so you can do a proper facelift in your 50s. All of the fillers, Botox, threads, are just going to ruin your face and make it a lot harder to fix when you’re older. I’m 36, and trust me, you will still care how you look when you are old.
I was a dentist assistant for 8,5 years. My boss wanted me to get a few days course to numb people up. I declined, I don't want to put injections into people without knowing enough to do so. The worse thing that can happen is that you give someone half a face paralysis. No thanks, I did quit shortly after 😮
I cannot understand the fear of getting older. Between botox, fillers, surgery and now threads. Unreal. I really feel sorry for them. How insecure must you be to do such invasive procedures on yourself, thereby taking a chance on something going wrong. 🙄🙄🙄 People LEAVE YOUR FACES ALONE!!
I’m 62 and admittedly, I do look good for my age. However I look at my saggy neck every time I look in the mirror and pull it back and think man do I want a neck lift then I watch videos and say maybe not I’ll just take some duct tape and pull my neck back.😂😂
I have so many insecurities about my skin since turning 30 so thank you for reminding me to just stick to a gentle skincare routine, gua sha and hydration because at least they’re not likely to cause permanent damage 😅
The woman with the bundles of scar tissue is so awesome for being part of that video with her surgeon. I would be too much of a coward. It must take a ton of courage to get surgery to address cosmetic insecurity and then to be an example of what could go wrong while still navigating a journey that individual never thought they would have to endure. If you have that much money why don’t you just pay someone to tell you “you are pretty”? Cheaper and there will be the rush of serotonin to get a little happy high while never having to go under the knife unnecessarily.
oh Lael, this is the tip of the iceberg. Wait until you find out about the DIYers doing their own threads (and fillers) 😂 and putting their trust in shady online vendors
Wait, didn't the whole 'fox eye' schtick have a relatively safe make-up counterpart in just, you know, TAPE? Same for that sharp cheek bone look, or trying to minimise facial sagging. Sure, it takes a bit of effort to cover the gloss of the tape, but I swear that I used to know so many girls that'd do that and that it was a go-to if you wanted to put a bit more detail in a cosplay or theatre character. Was that just not a thing? Did I used to know madmen? I might've known madmen, actually. But I swear that THEY learned it from less-mad people.
I’m sorry but this is one I literally have to listen instead of watch I literally feel sick to my stomach watching threads get put it peoples faces omg
Builds collagen? Try scar tissue. Way too many nerves in the face for chancing this. If your body has any anatomical variation , it's too risky for me.

I sometimes feel like “the crazy one” for not minding seeing my face change and age. I loved the scene in the Barbie movie where she tears up as she really looks at the old lady and say, “ You’re SO beautiful.” And the lady says,” I know it,” and smiles.
My 55 year old coworker got a face lift. It’s been a little under 2 weeks, so she’s still recovering, but I’m so scared to see her when she gets back. Seeing facelift results in pictures/videos is so different than in person 😭
The amount of things that can go wrong ?infection , tissue damage nerve damage ? why would you do this ? the youth and beauty industry has become insane to me ,a little lipstick and powder with mascara is all i have ever worn ,it takes 10mins all that time these people spend and money ,you cant help getting older x ps your health is your wealth x
There’s this crazy invention called makeup that can give you a fox eye look or cat eye, puppy eye, whatever you want! Try a different one every day. One of the best things is that it generally won’t hurt you unless you’re allergic. Plus if you mess up and end up looking weird you can just wipe it off and try again.
i was considering it after covid. then when my RN did my under eye filler and how it migrated i was upset. i still thought and thought about it and just gonna save my money. ive still got to get my lip filler dissolved
I learned in high school that if I throw my pen in anger, it breaks. I learned to not act too quickly and that I regret throwing and breaking my pen. I can't even imagine what regret these people have doing these procedures when they looked perfectly fine before.
Thanks for the disclaimer lol. I'm really squimish and get nausceous easily. Now I can watch this and be prepaired instead of having to lay down in a cold sweat afterwards.
Idk if I commented this on another video, but I worked with a hair stylist that had thread lifts done a month or so before her wedding. She had gotten the barbed threads. She was nervous, but told me A FRIEND OF HERS was doing it AT HER APARTMENT and she trusted him. Fast forward to the week after she had them done and she had lumps and bumps that didn't go away by her wedding day and she was so much more anxious. I have no idea what happened afterwards since I left that salon
you should do a video on when you were a weightlifter and a music reviewer. I saw a channel doa video on you and I thought it was unfair that they are probably getting paid to talk about you when you could just talk about you and make profit from it as well.
Thank you for that idea angel 😂 I’m trying to use my platform to spread awareness on more important topics - I’m not sure I’m a very important topic!! ❤️

I was too and I have been free for 17 years 🎉
Life is good, I certainly won't be doing this crazy thing to my face...
I'm grateful every single day for the wonderful life I have and I am happy to age naturally 💞
Waking up during abdominal surgery is terrible! If you’re a redhead you likely have a gene modifying your pain tolerance which means you need much more anesthesia to stay under. ❤
@@muirgirlIs that a real thing? I’ve never heard of that before. That’s so interesting. That’s a horrifying thought to wake up during any surgery.
I'm an x iv drug user and now I do mt own treatment. To each their own
@ Sure is.. the MC1R gene iirc
Honestly, I would rather age like a grape, eventually turn into an actual raisin and have a lovable character than end up with bumpy scars or weird 'thread horns' and possibly live in constant pain for literally no reason. 😵💫
Amén!
Always thinking it looks like... a horror or freak show(?) But no it's just a new beauty standard from the US.
@@peakmiez7825what’s worse is this isn’t even exclusive to here.
@@myliza700 Right, it's spreading to the world.
As someone with epilepsy who’s had electrodes inserted into my head multiple times (SEEG surgery, etc.) this beyond creeps me out, looks wrong and I CAN LITERALLY FEEL THIS UGHHHH like no please stop lol. I had to look away for the majority of this video and just listen to you talk. Full heebie jeebies lol. I wish people would just be happy with the way they look. It could be so much worse medically/internally. Your looks shouldn’t even be an issue really🧠🎗️💜
No thanks
These procedures are more impressive than any body horror movies I've ever seen. Movies are make-believe, but this is insane.
People do this kinda sh!t every day!!! It's insane!
I’m 22 and so grateful you make these videos you’ve turned me off from multiple surgery i was considering because this information isn’t readily available to everyone especially given all the positive videos of ppl being like you totally need to do this bc it worked out for me
Thank you, as a 46yo, I have been considering threads for a few years, for a little tightening...NOT ANYMORE!!
Exactly
Scar. Tissue. Never. Stops.
Had a tumor removed last year they had to dissect my whole fucking face
I cant smile like I use to
My jaw hurts when I eat and I cant feel my left ear
Totally agree with you
EXACTLY 🙌🏻 you said it!!
@myliza700 Thank you for your kindness and I totally agree with you
I do not judge anyone but after that traumatic experience I tend to advise not to go through such hasardous surgeries
for beauty purpose
Thank you for your answer 💓
I'll admit I'm an old person, but over the last several years it seems so many ( mostly women) have gone through so many different procedures just to end up looking like they stepped out of a flying saucer.
This is so gross they are stitching them together like dolls what is this Coraline 💀
Inner work is way less dangerous and more beautiful with less complications. ❤
As quote with Doctor mike, this like a very old sort of surgery type of thing. Though it's been recently introduced with newer doctors and people are like wow this is so new! we gotta recommend this to everyone even though it's not that good
Thanks so much for posting such a video.
Awh poor baby 🥺 thank you for your work!
Love the face and body God gave you!
This is the advice I gave my own daughters.
It's the best thing you could possibly do for yourself and your self esteem! ❤️
Therapy is cheaper and way more effective.
AGREED 😂 best money I ever spent TBH
I heard therapy is SUPER DUPER expensive!! $100+ per hour? No?
@@klickingkayasmr7585compared to buying multiple surgeries that are thousands of dollars each...
All this voluntary plastic surgery is just Capital level stuff from hunger games. Even if it does work it’s just not great for mental health.
That buccal up gets me every time 💀
Yeeeeessss! another high energy, hot tea spill with Lael to make a perfect Saturday!! Also you have covered every body mod topic I’m fascinated with and you are finally touching on the trend I hyper focused on the most when I was going down the influencer plastic surgery rabbit holes!! LOVE YA🫡
beauty is all about ageing, stop changing your face and love whats inside.
ALSO YOUR FILLER video thank you for shining a light on this
It just screams, "hey, want me to permanently disfigure you for $2000?"
RIGHT?! TERRIFYING... 😳
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is having a good day and if you're not, I hope your day gets better
Undergoing such medical procedure like face lift is so scary. Seeing this as a young person then remembering it when I'm older makes me never wanna hear about it ever 😂😂
As a queasy queen, this one was tough to power through, but I love this content, and learning.
I could not watch the procedure videos I basically just listened to this episode omg..:.this is horribly traumatizing
If anyone has seen a keloid scar after injury this would be an intuitive possible reaction.
I’ll just go ahead and be an old hag, thanks.
Team aging gracefully 😭 this sounds so painful
Someone has to be anti plastic surgery and im glad its her
People just don't want to look human anymore
Wary vs. Weary
Wary - on alert; like "beware of something"
Weary - tired; like "wear someone/thing out"
I thought the veneers one was the worst then I saw the needle up the nose 🙂↕️
NOT THE NEEDLES UP THE NOSE 😭
The people in my life who I admire the most and like the most are not particularly good looking
Girls, save your faces so you can do a proper facelift in your 50s. All of the fillers, Botox, threads, are just going to ruin your face and make it a lot harder to fix when you’re older. I’m 36, and trust me, you will still care how you look when you are old.
If you need to use a scalpel it's not really non surgical
So true 😭
I was a dentist assistant for 8,5 years. My boss wanted me to get a few days course to numb people up. I declined, I don't want to put injections into people without knowing enough to do so. The worse thing that can happen is that you give someone half a face paralysis. No thanks, I did quit shortly after 😮
Deep plane face lift is more invasive and expensive but in 3 weeks you look more presentable than with threads.
Last a lot longer to boot.
Y people are scared to get old 🤔 ? Society has messed up a lot of people lives and minds 😢!!
WTH. I've never heard of this. Ladies, just wear a high tight ponytail, and boom. A little lift. I would never consider doing this to myself.
I’m 62 and admittedly, I do look good for my age. However I look at my saggy neck every time I look in the mirror and pull it back and think man do I want a neck lift then I watch videos and say maybe not I’ll just take some duct tape and pull my neck back.😂😂
threads needs to stay something only being the instagram thread
Entirely too poor to even consider these methods because boy if I had it, I’d still be broke
It's just so not worth your hard earned money!
Waaay too many nerves in the face to take a chance with shoving that so far across the face 😮
It just makes me sad that people my age are getting SO many procedures, like my friends, we are still so young and it just always ages you :(
I’m sorry but this is one I literally have to listen instead of watch I literally feel sick to my stomach watching threads get put it peoples faces omg
22:58 Who did these? They aren't even on the same plane as each other, they're literally on a different solar system!
Uuughhhh that first clip of the thread pulling through the skin made my skin crawl
The queen has spoken.
Okay, now my face hurts. I have a rule: no one touches my face unless it's for a health reason.
Builds collagen? Try scar tissue. Way too many nerves in the face for chancing this. If your body has any anatomical variation , it's too risky for me.
Why do people always have to change themselves they are beautiful the way the are I don’t understand why people have to change themselves it hurts my heart ❤️ for thousands of people who have to change themselves for others 😭😭😭😭 always my uncle passed away 💔💔💔💔 your so gorgeous Lael I hope your day is going good for you because my day is hard for me but I know you’re here with me your videos always put a smile on my face 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I sometimes feel like “the crazy one” for not minding seeing my face change and age. I loved the scene in the Barbie movie where she tears up as she really looks at the old lady and say, “ You’re SO beautiful.” And the lady says,” I know it,” and smiles.
omg the axolotl plushie on the chair 🥺🥺🥺
My boyfriends parents bought him for me 😭❤️ my favourite!!
My 55 year old coworker got a face lift. It’s been a little under 2 weeks, so she’s still recovering, but I’m so scared to see her when she gets back. Seeing facelift results in pictures/videos is so different than in person 😭
OMG I can't even imagine, the videos really don't do a facelift justice! It is really intense!
Thank you for making this episode. I was considering doing this and now I have changed my mind!
Omg I love your shirt! You look so pretty!
Hey Lael, there's actually videos on TH-cam of people doing DIY thread lifts and it's absolutely terrifying!
Hey lael as always thank you for enlightening us all with another awesome video! 😊👍💖💖

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING ANGEL ❤️
Idk if I commented this on another video, but I worked with a hair stylist that had thread lifts done a month or so before her wedding. She had gotten the barbed threads. She was nervous, but told me A FRIEND OF HERS was doing it AT HER APARTMENT and she trusted him. Fast forward to the week after she had them done and she had lumps and bumps that didn't go away by her wedding day and she was so much more anxious. I have no idea what happened afterwards since I left that salon
This one scared the sh*t out of me. I have to watch a video with cats or puppies now. Love your channel
you should do a video on when you were a weightlifter and a music reviewer.
This made me sick 🤢
How was I not subscribed? Always love your videos! ❤️
Lael, please watch then review The Substance. You will love it.
Dear God, this is insanity. Fixing the outside, won't fix the inside. Self acceptance is key. We all age, it is normal to look older. Never on your life. I am 60 & grateful that I have no desire to turn back time via any invasive proceedure. A chemical peel is it. No botox, no filler, no threads, no facelift, no thanks. Love thyself, beauty comes from within, loves.💞💓💖
i had threads a year ago. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Before watching the video, please refrain from being an actual thread.
Edit: nope this is way worse
