It is just useful if you want to share the content with other parties, but you also want to protect it from unintended users while sharing. Other than that, can't think of its use.
@@antonarap5393 Lol that's exactly what i tought seeing the author of this video installing some random extension and giving unprotected, potentialy sensitive data to it on a silver platter. I was hoping that it would be at least first party extension made by google
if its not appearing for you look for the top left corner for the "all filters" tab & click "clear all" the filter is blocking it for you you should find it then. ⚠
There's a filter in the search results. It will say something like "All filters (1)". It puts this filter on automatically because you're in google docs. If you remove the filter, you should be able to see the extension. Hope this helps!
I have alternate option. We just make it as microsoft word file. Then set password in our computer. After that, upload the file back to google drive. Finally, I will has the password protection by their own. No need extension anymore.

I'd never give an unknown 3rd Party Developer access to my Google Account like this. This seems counter-intuitive. I want to secure my Doc by giving Full Account Access to someone I do not know or trust? Eh?
Not able to find this addon

I know how to
I'm not seeing this as an option when I search with 'password'. Any suggestions?

Did not work for me. It shows a popup and then says log in again and then gives an error...
Hope you manage to sort it out.
Does not work. There is no add-on that pops up called Password Protect for Google Docs.
