I just got the Si and I love the car. I consider it the perfect car for someone who commutes to work but also wants something fun to drive on the weekend.

  • @vwmatt33

Drove a 4dr Si today. I found it to be a lot of fun. I came in thinking the HP/Torque ratings were really going to hurt this car with such a huge gap between this and the Type R. That was further from the truth. The Si had plenty of usable torque. Not GTI low end torque, but enough to make a difference. Love the right turn signal display on the info screen. That's pure genius.
Over all it's about 85% of a VW GTI. If I was one to keep cars for 5-8 years I would pick the Si. But I don't. I trade every 2-3 years and I'm always under warranty.
Can't help but think a 275HP Si-R and fill that gap.

Do Si fans have any idea what the car is all about? The Si was never meant to be a world beater. If you want tons of HP and torque, go get a GT Mustang and be done with it. The Si is a fun drivers car. It's not fast, but it's quick. You can throw it around curvy roads and have a blast and it'll beg for more. As for everyone saying that, whatever generation Si they're driving currently, is the best, that's antiquated thinking. I've owned an 8th and 9th generation Si and the power and torque of the 10th generation bests both of them. Multiple dyno videos have shown that Honda underrated the power numbers on the 10th generation Si. The interior of the new Si is far superior to the last two generations. It also has more technology, better infotainment. Oh and it has a little thing called adaptive damping suspension. Oh...oh...and it gets 40mpg on the highway. The only fault I see with the new Si is the garbage rear bumper on the sedan, but the coupe solves that issue. You keep your high revving VTEC and I'll take the far superior 10th generation.

One of the better produced videos. Gave out 14K on my '17 Si sedan and love it. Two minor points you left out-bad rev hang and an inability to consistently maintain set speed on cruise. Again, if I could go back in time
I would happily buy it again.

What's all this rambling about the head rest…? You never actually rest your head on it when you drive, wheither it's ajustable or not, unless you drive with your head backward like your about to fall asleep. It's just there to help prevent neck injuries in case you get hit from behind.

  • @_chan.burn.21_

The real reason they aren’t offering the Civic Si as a hatchback is because of the Civic Type R, considering it is ONLY available as a hatchback. It would be nice for there to be a hatchback Si as it would be a well-rounded competitor to the Golf GTI and the Focus/Fiesta ST, but the coupe is probably the best way to go for the Si unless you absolutely need the extra space the sedan has to offer.

Not enough potential for raw power? I’m on ktuner (no other mods) beating bolt on wrxs and keeping up with STIs. And even when I was stock I was neck to neck with a GTI. Not hating, just clarifying the fact that these cars have just as much potential as any other performance car.

I've been in the market for a 2018 Honda Civic si and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine.

Went from a great revving 2.0 which I have in a 2009 Si to a 2.4 which I also currently own in my 2012 Si to this BS. Honda has made themselves irrelevant with this half ass edition of the Si. WTF is Honda purposely limiting their performance for??? Next up for me is definitely a Subaru WRX.

As much as I like the Si, I had an opportunity to buy the car in the 2 door and Blue... But I just couldn't bye it. Mainly because of that dinky 1.5L, AND how tech heavy it is. Also no spare tire (which in my mind is a HUGE safety issue)

Excellent video and review guys! I absolutely loved the camera work and editing and especially appreciated and enjoyed the fun and helpful use of time-lapse! Great objective overview with accurate information that was presented quite succinctly And I also appreciated your personal subjective feelings being expressed clearly as such and mostly separately from the objective content. What a great and thorough review which provides a balanced and fair look at the upsides as well as the downsides to purchasing the tenth-gen Civic Si!
Take note all others reviewers...this is how a proper, entertaining and thorough review should be formatted! Well done!!

Bought the 2 door 2018 Civic Si for my son several weeks ago (didn't like the large fake air ducts on the back end). The new civic si coupe has the best design the, new civic si sedan has a very ugly rear end and it doesn't look good at all as a sedan, because they just slapped on the hatchback poorly made rear bumper onto the sedan they should have given the civic si rear diffuser with dual exhaust. The new 1.5 litre engine is a great engine, and now the civic si has some shared components with the civic type r, also it's great without VTEC or i-VTEC because it now has a forced induction and the turbo works really fast, and I have driven the new civic si coupe and it was a fun and amazing car to drive!
