    Imagine if tool manufacturers gave you the ability to download exact outlines for their tools that can be loaded into LightBurn. Then you can easily cut the outline with a cheap diode laser machine.

    • @bescotdude9121
      @bescotdude9121 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      another good thing would be a silhouette that you can download and use them like you suggested

    • @MrMaxymoo22
      @MrMaxymoo22 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Slightly more time consuming than ready to use outlines, but you can scan tools on a flatbed scanner and convert that image into a DXF you can laser cut. I've done this a lot.

    • @ShadowFoam
      @ShadowFoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      we'd also need to take into account the size of the foam we are cutting and whether the shadow from the projector could reach the middle of it well, but great idea nonetheless, definitely food for thought!

    One thing you could is somehow create templates from suppliers BIM drawings of each tool and create a tool to allow users to make their wall digitally, fitting and everything and allow them to print it onto a template sheet that they lay over the foam and cut it away

    • @ShadowFoam
      @ShadowFoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds very interesting! Do you think a lot of people would use that over using their tools as stencils?

    • @niche_creation
      @niche_creation 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ShadowFoam potentially. It might make it easier for people to work out how big their board needs to be and plan the layout before committing

    • @raintrunberg2195
      @raintrunberg2195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ShadowFoam definetly, best probably would be some kinda of program on the website where you can make the layout with tools from your list ( probably a long list with different brands ) that you have at home. then its as easy as ordering a custom t-shirt, a mug or what not.
      I personally could do the layout and cutting myself 100% but if you offered to do it before hand for some extra £ i would choose that option 10 out of 10.

      @@ShadowFoam I'd love at least a tool like one of the scanner apps where i can take a photo of a tool next to an object of known size like a coin or a piece of paper that lets me move tools around virtually to know how big of a piece of foam I'd need, so what size tool box to buy. I'd probably still cut round the tools because that seems easier than a stencil though.
