The WW-2 fighter planes are the most beautiful planes ever built.

I was at this standing about 25 yards on the right front. When he did the run up I was getting a bit nervous and was hoping the brakes would hold the left side. You see the plane shift some at full power. I know some of the volunteers there and suggested they put chocks on both wheels.

I wish people taking prop plane videos used slower shutter speed- like film 25frames-per-second, so we dont get this weird stroboscoping/reversing prop effects you get from high shutter speed.

Yes, Drive me nuts!!..especially when the 20-30 year old VHS footage I took with my old camcorder doesn't do this!...prop blades turned normally on those videos, and I don't remember having to mess with any shutter speed settings or anything...just focus and zoom...so why is all this new-fangled stuff so screwed up on the prop speed??....

Nice 47. Looks like he's practicing for Reno. Very short flight. Put a centerline & two wing tanks full of 130 octane and head out fast.

    B-25's sure aren't quiet, though!...😅

P-47's and P-38's are very quiet compared to most other WW2 fighters...turbos and associated plumbing must act as big mufflers....

American P-47 trainee in England during WWII decided to buzz his buddies who were crossing a creek footbridge on the base. He misjudged the distant treeline a bit. Blasted thru some young trees, right at treetop level. Pilots last thought was "I'm Dead". He spat out the other side of the trees, leading edge of the wing was pounded flat, gun barrels were bent back 180deg, engine just barely hanging on with bent blades, but still turning on one or two, windmilling. He landed"hard down" but walked away. Brand New, out of the box, P-47. Zero time on it. The Tank of the Sky. Read up to 4200 rounds(with careful stuffing and field mods) of 8 barrel 50 cal, plus about 2 tons of underwing stores, all in one go.

... thus was each ammo box able to hold up to 525 rounds? Are there any documentation of such quantities in operational flying? Thanx from Italy.

They burn fuel and oil like it is going out of fashion, same with the Corsair.

no, its definitely real, there are certain optical aspects of cameras that appear different on the screen than to the naked eye, its the same principle when people take videos of helicopters and it seems as if the rotors are not moving, yet they are
