Love the sound of a big radial engine!
Did you get the great shot at ARCHER, WY ? That bridge and curve is a must spot ! Nice Vid .
83 years ago on this day (September 5, 1941) Union Pacific took delivery of the very first Big Boy, number 4000!
Steam power! Wish I could have been there
Not a huge fan of the Freight cars i get what they were trying to do but i prefer the full passenger car train hopefully when i see her she has them all
Awesome work.
I just came across this video ... Subscribed!!! 👍
#4014 departs Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Wow! She run without diesel locomotive helper.
Awesome! I’m going to get 4014 soon! It will be my best catch of the big boy!
But awesome video love the sound the smoke and the steam whistle!😊
Who came here because they saw the stack hoods in the thumbnail?
Me bruh

My god, he's a boy, god darn it!
You mean “on HIS way”? ‘Cause he’s a big BOY?
Damn those things look like mini-bombers, not fighters. lol

What a beautiful "FAT" beast. I have seen P-51's flying, but never a Jug. maybe some day.
So.. the rich people are on the inside of the fence? Kinda shitty.
Ahhhhhhhh there it is.....18 creamery cans firing in harmony radial fix for today. Thank you
Yeah, that "little brown jug" !
The P47 was a better plane then most give it credit for.. it’s VS’s numbers were not as good ..why because when they were first in combat our tactics were inexperienced and at that time it was against Germany’s best. By the time the P51 arrived our tactics improved and the Germans were starting to show wear…Repeatedly i have heard/read events where the 47 got into a turning battle with 109’s and 190’s at lower altitudes and they were gaining on the maneuver. No one can argue it’s ruggedness ..or it’s pure firepower of 8 50’s ..I have listened to pilots stress that with drop tanks it had the same range as a 51..I think the 51 is a pretty bird no doubt..but if it was my butt on the line it would’ve been in a P47 ..
Thats an awful lot of engine, petrol and artillery. With just enough room left over for an eighteen year old kid in shirtsleeves.
Ya, aint cool man
Beautiful!!!!!
Magnificent!
Похож на стиральную машину с крыльями !😁
Jusy beautifull.
That bird is so ugly it’s beautiful! 🫡
From what I’ve read recently, these planes weren’t easy to fly in terms of getting the right running mixture in flight and the high landing speed. Demanding for experienced pilots.
In some parts of the world...a bunch of those could still do serious damage if armed correctly and given the whole nine yards!
I agree. Most modern missiles are heat seeking and perform best on the heat of a jet engine. Although slower they produce much less heat and I would think they are safer from missiles. At low levels 400 knots + is more than adequate for limited attack.

At low levels 400 knots + is more than adequate for limited attack. Add on a few 20-30 mm cannons and a few 500-1000 lb bombs and it would be ferocious.
👍💯
Love these old airplanes!
Pratt and whittney R2800 Twin Wasp Power plant😊. One tough engine.
Real thirsty for both avgas and oil, very expensive to run.
@@vumba1331 Shot up and missing cylinders, brought many a pilot home.
Love it. Keep the history flying.
Nothing like an old warbird
If you don't love the 'jug', you ain't right!
YOUR audio must be adjusted VERY LOW on your Recording ... That R2800 Radial Engine makes ALOT MORE Rumble than is audible in this recording ??? This Video is also YEARS old It Is not Recent by any Means .... Cheers !
This was recorded 2 weeks ago at the National Museum of WWII Aviation in Colorado Springs. Also, the P47 is not as loud as some other warbiirds, due to the massive turbocharger muffling the exhaust.
GOOD VIDEO.
Very aptly named THUNDERBOLT!!!!!!
Just love the sound of a radial engine.
I love the sound of inertial starters... ON radial engines.
It gives goosebumps !
wow the propeller is doing some crazy illusions with the fps of the video
That's called an" optical- contusion" lol 😅 Ether way I've aways loved the sound of those engines.🇺🇸😎
I was getting ready to put my gin and tonic down !
@@midway27272727 lol i was questioning if it was only me seeing it myself 😅
@@gabbyhayes4561 same here , the radials were better sounding , longer lasting and safer in combat . Im glad the pilots didn't see the trippy prop or they would have all been hypnotized in battle
Tough airplane.
Hi..You've got some great stuff on your channel. U can never go wrong with P of F or anything with round engines. Love the start up and shut down. Always include in all your work if possible. On the other hand 844 & 4014 and anything in narrow gauge is OK too. If u consistently post, u will get the subs, currently at 137. Good Luck.
That's not POF
@@Mikeylikesit1968 True he's in Colorado Springs, West Pac Restor. & Museum of WW2 Aviation; but my point was round engines and maybe his future destinations someday.
Thanks....RIP
We had a great day at the museum!
