Laffite was Keke Rosberg's teammate at Williams in 1983 and 1984. Rosberg demolished him like 14-2 and 15-1. Sure the cars were garbage but at least Keke took 2 victories with them.
I was at Brands Hatch that day and by co-incidence, through work, I met the St John's ambulance man who was first on the scene after the accident. He told me that he knew that Laffite's injuries, although not life threatening, were the end of his career.
Motor racing is not limited to F1. Jacques in DTM after the accident. He was at Donnington for the first non championship race where I was a club steward for the support programme.
Looking at the Brands Hatch crash there were no row of tyres in front of the barrier/wall. If there had been Laffite would have certainly suffered less serious injuries.
Laffite finally has someone with no knowledge nor interest in F1 confirm that he's been a TV commentator for a few years. Repeatedly. Very little correlation between video and narration, more than a few factual errors, hardly any effort given to research. Jacques deserves so much better than this clickbait tripe, you should be ashamed.
Badly researched & keeps repeating stories! Commenter also stated that Jacques stopped commentating in 2012 & later in the video the commenter says that we can now find Jacques commentating for TF1!
My kinda era but having trouble with the visuals and what I am hearing. Watched the Rosberg vid then jumped to this one. Same prob for me with both. My mind sees one image when listening to a point in time but all I see is a looping set of images that have nothing to do with what I am hearing. The audio content is fine. Just think imagery needs to depict what is being spoken about. I know the era but might be confusing for those wanting to learn about the sport's past.
This sort of rubbish, full of factual errors (1976 championship he was in contention...? He finished 7th = on 20 points...!!), endless repetition and atrocious editing should not be allowed on YT.
What garbage clickbait! Covering F1 could lead to organic followers when done right. Ticking f1 fans off with vapid and repetitive AI produced narrative and a bogus title is the way for us to be one and done with "F1 Icons!"
Title should be 'Jacques Laffite Finally Confirms Nothing At All'
So what did he "finally confirm" ?! Clickbalt
Thx for the heads up, I won't waste my time.
Im was born a year after his career ended but hes still one of my favorite drivers. A great driver and a character in the paddock.
What a load of bollocks !
Many faults: the rain- sequence is Depailler in a Tyrrell. One is Pironis accident after losing a wheel in Jarama.

Pictures don’t fit to the comments its totally random
What was suspected? What was confirmed?

Your comment is much more interesting than the whole clickbait video.
Thanks for sharing!

76 It was Lauda v Hunt, no Laffite. 🤦🏻♂️
I know right. Lafitte finished 8th in the championship with 20 points & 3 podiums in 1976.

Nothing to see here.

Very impressive movie, cheers Fabrizio - like 4
I remember his accident when I was a kid. But I remember it because the F1 commentator said: "Jacques Laffite broke his two front legs".
The back ones were fine, though.😂.lol
@@beeemm2578 Just as well being as he always was a bit of a horse's arse.
