Diamonds are forever a view to a kill die another Day, Spectre, and no Time to die in quantum of solace, and the last bit of Skyfall. Those are the worst of the worst ever seen in my life and the James Bond franchise.
Totally agree with FYEO - its always been forgetable and hard to pay attention, invisible villian. However, I've grown to really love the ending climbing scene and the ski scene - good score
Excellent point about Mary Goodnight that I hadn't considered before. The women before like Pussy Galore, Aki, Domino and Tracy were headstrong women, who may have had varying degrees of trauma and been rescued by Bond to some degree, but they weren't stupid and stand up to Bond. Goodnight is a total insult to the women who came before.
Just in terms of her poor characterization and writing as well as forced comedy with her. As I said in the video I harbor absolutely no ill will towards Britt Ekland who really wanted this role. -J
Up to 3, so far so completely agree! Edit: disagree that TMWTGG deserves a place on the list. I like it but am biased towards Roger Moore. Holding out for QOS as number one… YES!! What a train wreck. NTTD must be no. 6!
I have watched most Bond films and like most of the actors but I gave up on Daniel Craig so he played him 5 times and I haven't bothered after his first bad attempt
@@StevenDavies-el8ss and you’re exactly right I hated Daniel Craig been casted to play James Bond. The man is not a tractive whatsoever. He cannot play the role in Dalton is years ahead of him and you cannot bring in to franchises and mold them into one does not work, Jason, Bourne, and James Bond totally two different franchises, and they do not belong together at any shape or any means
I never felt the same about Daniel Craig after seeing Quantum of Solace. After his gritty, energetic performance in Casino Royale, Craig has just seemed boring and gloomy ever since QoS. I thought he was the weakest part of Skyfall and Spectre and I never bothered watching No Time to Die. Craig looks like a killer but no way does he convince as a seductive charmer who could talk the panties off a nun. Compared with Connnery, Moore and Brosnan, Craig is pretty dull. On another note, the Bond films of the early 70s are tacky. The cinematography is flat; the locations don't look that exotic; there is too much 70s pop~style music instead strong orchestral scores; the female characters are two~dimensional bimbos; the humor is variable; and the stories are very silly. To me, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker guilty pleasures ~ they're ridiculous but they are fun. But they do look a lot better than earlier 70s Bond movies, and the Bond girl characters are more interesting.
That’s an interesting point about Craig but QOS derailed much of his goodwill and where I think they wanted his Bond to go. There was less emphasis on Bond’s womanizing I think as his films went on. The 70s were rough but did roar back with The Spy Who Loved Me and even audiences flocked to Moonraker despite its outlandishness. It was eclectic to say the least, for better or for worse. -J
Your opinion is well-reasoned, and I fully understand why the films you mentioned don't work for you. I'm only writing because you consider OHMSS to be one of the best Bond films. That one, however, doesn't work for me. It has a poor balance of action and story. The first half is boring and drags on forever. The action scenes are shaky and way too wildly edited. The Bond girls (except for Diana Rigg, of course) are dumb and annoying. Ruby, in particular, is a character whose personality really bothers me. The fact that Blofeld doesn't recognize Bond doesn't fit with the continuity of the other Bond films. All of these things weigh much more heavily for me than your reasoning about FYEO.
How wrong you are. OHMSS is one of the best Bonds. Lazenby takes a lot of heat for his portrayal of Bond. I think he's quite good. He was not trying to be Connery. If Connery had been in the movie it would have to be almost completely rewritten. I do have two gripes about the movie, however. Louis Armstrong destroying what is one of the best songs in a Bond film (should have been a choral) and the ending should have been shot in complete silence. Fade to black and NO Bond theme song.
@@fredloeper8579 I totally understand what you like about it. It just doesn't work for me. The things I pointed out make this movie the least for me, but I know that I'm nearly alone with that opinion.

While it nearly made the list 6 there were elements about it that at least entertained me whereas these five simply don’t which is among the worst qualities a Bond film can do for me at least
Two Daniel Craig movies. Interesting. Where is Moonraker on your list? and that gawdawful View to a Kill. Surely if you expanded your list to the worst ten Bonds these would be included. QS starts out with a bang at least. MWGG has a good teaser as well. But yes, not a very good movie.
Moonraker was just a comedy so I just look at it like that is something that will entertain you and make you laugh your ass off other than that that’s what I think about Moonraker And Roger Moore, peaked at the spy, who loved me
We will agree to disagree. The Craig series should be taken as a whole. The character growth from Casino thru to No time to die is well done as a whole. Yes, some slow places, but overall good entertainment. Why are you watching the films ?? I am looking for a bit of escapism, and entertaining action. You also don't comment much on what was going on with the world at the time each was filmed. And then the political stuff with Sony. I would bet if you were making a bond today movie it would flop.
I agree with your reasoning as far as why we watch these films, but character growth in the Daniel Craig era almost made me lose interest in James Bond, and that's saying a lot.
Spectre. The "chase" in Rome is so flaccid it took me out of the movie. It was a commercial for supercars.
It was the point I checked out of the movie. No tension, suspense, excitement or jeopardy. Boring.
Diamonds are forever a view to a kill die another Day, Spectre, and no Time to die in quantum of solace, and the last bit of Skyfall. Those are the worst of the worst ever seen in my life and the James Bond franchise.
Worse than Die Another Day?
The man with the golden gun star Christopher lee was actually an agent in WWII.
thats probably the closest a bond has come
Check out George L’s real life bio!

Quantum of Solace. I can forgive a lot, but the ending is just a huge throw back to the worst of the Moore-era over-the-top set pieces.
That’s a fresh perspective on the finale I’d never even considered! Brilliant observation!

For Your Eyes Only is Worse than Octopussy? Disagree but I like your analysis. Plus you are 100% right about Waltz.

NO TIME TO DIE, DIE ANOTHER DAY is just pure trash.
No Time was unwatchable, didn't make it half way

Moonraker is my personal least favorite. In fact ive never made it all the way through it. Makes me cringe
Daniel Craig is awful and all his films should be last. Followed by Brosnan's Die Another Day. 😂
Unpopular opinion: The Bond franchise should have been retired after the end of the Cold War.
